My motive for this review is so nobody else had to go through what I suffered. I have been through…read moreseveral remodels and I worked with many contractors in my business for 30 years. Jeremiah Barron with Barron Backhoe has been the worst contractor experience in my lifetime. Jeremiah said all the right things for me to believe him and I spent over $100, 000 to have him work on my property. Everything he worked on has had to be corrected or redone. The level of deceit, arrogance and incompetence was literally a danger to peoples lives (see attached pictures). Barron Backhoe built a 10 foot retaining wall (without geo-grid) that collapsed and fell over with his employee in the tractor. Fortunately it was an enclosed cab tractor so his employee was not injured and nobody was below when the concrete blocks gave way. He then took the rubble and built two 5 foot walls that are now cracking and sagging. He also cut out a big portion of the mountain and pushed the dirt over the side of the mountain without proper compaction. He suggested it would cost around $10,000 to cut back the mountain, but I was paying him by hour so he drug it out to cost $25,000. After the monsoons the mountain of pushed loose dirt has a 100 foot long crack 10 feet from the edge between the native soil and the loose uncompacted soil. This is hundreds of tons of dirt that is ready to break off and fall into the ravine. Anyone below that would be buried alive. I have not contacted the ROC regarding this new development yet. To make matters worse he is not even licensed to build retaining walls. On top of that he tries to blame everyone else instead of owning up to his poor decisions. The Arizona ROC has written him up for doing work he was not licensed for. Then he tries to say I told him not to use Geo-Grid on the collapsed wall. Or that I told him how to do his job so he was not responsible for any of the failures. I could go on and on but bottom line is he makes a lot of promises and that he does not live up to or does them half measured. I would advise not to pay him for the work until it is completed and don't pay him by the hour. He billed me by the hour and kept milking the job to make it drag on to bill more hours. He did thousands of dollars of damage to my tractors and did not have the courtesy to properly grease them, etc. He also kept some $400 of tooling I paid for without paying me as well. We have hired other excavators to fix a bunch of these issues. They literally work 3 to 5 times faster than Barron Backhoe did and for way less money. Based on his past history I can predict that Jeremiah will write a response denying everything, admitting nothing and making false counter accusations.
