The local corn was quite a bit higher in price than "NJ corn" at my farm market in PA. Other prices I had to watch and remember what I paid on the other side of the river. But they had an abundance of peaches, and high yield normally means good prices so yes, THAT was a bargain! Their "marked" produce (aka "seconds" or "ripe") is reduced price and was $11.25 for 10lb peck of peaches. It took a month to eat; they kept beautifully in the fridge! Absolutely awesome deal! Staff was friendly young adults, and they even took time to relate to my kid, which was super nice. I will be back when I'm the area!

I noticed that fruits and vegetables are now being sold pre-batched in baskets, without allowing customers to choose their own produce. I attempted to purchase Champagne mangoes, which were packaged in sets of two. In every batch, one mango was clearly good while the other was rotten or overripe. I tried to pick 2 good mangoes instead, and without warning, a short heavy set woman came up behind me, pushed me, snatched the mangoes out of my hands, and told me I had to purchase them "as is." I was then told they were "only $1 each," as if customers should accept rotten produce simply because it is inexpensive. No customer should be treated this way, especially loyal shoppers who have supported this business for years. Selling spoiled produce bundled with good produce and expecting customers to pay for both feels dishonest and unfair. Buyers should be aware of what is happening here. I'd always see their signs on Rt 45 while driving to the Amish Market from Woodbury. Yet not until a few weeks ago did I actually take the plunge and visit them. See what happened was this pregnant lady had a mad craving for the first strawberries of the season. I called Duffields & they had just picked their first batch that week. But then serendipity struck in the form of a Grasso Girl's sign on the side of the road as we were on our way to brunch at the blueplate. JERSEY BERRIES!! Not only freshly picked SJ strawberries, but picked from their own patch. And they have pick your own fields too!! (please excuse the excessive punctuation, but I need to convey my excitement here) Anyway, I have since been back every weekend for those delectable berries. Plus their own freshly cut asparagus was out & the most amazing free range eggs EVER. Like real free range from a place in Mickleton called Happy Hens. The eggs are multi-colored and in a cute egg box with hand-pasted labels. And a good price at only 3.99 a dozen, which sounds pricey but really it's not for the quality you are getting. I'm very excited to have a new farm stand in my rotation. So much better than the crowded farmer's markets at Headhouse & Collingswood.

All produce is clearly marked, which I like, whether it's their own or Jersey grown or from another state. If it doesn't have a sign, the produce seems like just good grocery quality stuff.
