Wow mind blowing!! So regret that I didn't come here before buying expensive plants at other nurseries! Incredible selection of trees, shrubs, vegetables, hydrangeas, hanging baskets and flowers. VERY reasonably priced. Pleasant, knowledgeable staff. Family owned. They do much of their own propagating. At Christmas, sell trees, wreaths, poinsettias, etc. Pumpkins and mums in fall. This was highly recommended by my wedding florist for their wide array of plants at reasonable prices. It was crowded even on an Sunday morning, filled with locals and landscapers alike. There is parking across the street if their lot is full. My only complaint is that the prices were only on the larger hanging planters or larger mixed planters. There were no prices at all on the flats and smaller pots. I mistakenly carried a flat of tiny plants only to be told they weren't for sale, they were actually still being grown to use in the larger pots. Since I saw at least 5 other people carrying them as well, it would make sense to have put a sign up on that greenhouse. read more

High expectations for this place. It's huge, so take your time to meander through a number of different greenhouses and lots full of horticulture and landscaping plants. As others mentioned, the major problem is signage. As in none. A lot of plants aren't labeled, though some are. There are no signs telling you if you are looking at a perennial or an annual. Maybe only 25% of the plants were labeled with pricing. And that is probably the main reason I didn't buy anything. With such a long line to wait to pay for things, I didn't want to lug a bunch of plants up there only to realize I couldn't afford to buy what I lugged up there with my limited budget this year. As a plus side, they have some very adorable farm animals like alpacas, funny looking chickens and a pot bellied pig or two. read more

Do not go here if you don't have time to really walk around and enjoy this place! It is enormous! So many greenhouses and beautiful flowers! Prices are definitely wayyyyyyy better than a big name store. And the people are super knowledgeable. I also love walking amongst the various chickens! So fun! Really large selection of perennials & annuals here. The "farm market" part is not the best, except that there are parrots on site! We have found the prices to be very competitive for actual plants. We found a nice selection of ornamental grasses & flowering perennials for our yard last week. There are also a bunch of seasonal items and knick-knacky garden things that are reasonably priced. Great place to come for fall decorations too like pumpkins & mums. They take all major cards & are a locally owned business. Good stuff. read more

Seeing this place is out there if it wasn't for the plants and flowers they have displayed you can easily miss it while driving. They have alot of things you can buy for your garden from statues, stones, lighting, mulch different trees, fruit trees also you can add to your garden. Its pretty cool also.. they have horses, chickens, geese in an area , not free roaming, fenced off . They also sell fruits, veggies,all fresh... several green houses you can walk into to find that one special plant you want.. or tree you want to plant... They do maintain their plants.. nothing looks dead, or about to die. Safe to say my wife and now mother love this place. Friendly staff, well only saw one guy and he was friendly and very helpful. looks like i will be coming here alot this summer with the lil lady. They have a huge variety and that was a plus, but you need to specifically know what you want if you go there because there are things scattered all over the place. I mean everywhere and very messy & unorganized. I think if you are a landscaper or doing mass plantings this place is good for that, but so overwhelming for the average gardener. Also, what saddened me the most were the conditions of the animals, I don't know if they are very old or rescues, but they just looked so unhealthy and their habitats were awful; it was just so depressing:( read more

I couldn't believe the selection. This is by far the best place to get landscaping ideas and have an array of options to go with. Platt's Farm Market and Garden Center: Worth a Trip out to Rural South Jersey I recently posted about my favorite place to buy plants, Greensgrow in Kensington, but Platt's is another excellent farm market/ garden center you may not know about. I discovered this place through an acquaintance who is a master gardener and recommended it for its vast selection and low prices. The place is HUGE, with an impressive selection of trees, annuals, perennials, garden decorations, fresh produce, and more. And the prices are considerably lower than what one is accustomed to seeing in the Philly suburbs; if you have a lot to buy, your savings easily make the extra gas money worth it. Kids might also enjoy going, as it is a working farm with animals, many greenhouses, and an impressive collection of pet parrots (there are at least 7 as I recall). As a bonus, it is pleasant to drive around this lovely, rural part of the state--reminds one why we are called "The Garden State." If you enjoy visiting garden centers, Platt's is a fantastic, one-of-a-kind place where you could spend hours, trust me. I have been to many garden centers, and this one is among the coolest. I stumbled upon this place while taking a drive. I was shocked at how big it was. There were a ton of plants in one of maybe 20 greenhouses. Some of the plants didn't have prices so when I got to the front I didn't know what to expect. So cheap and beautiful strong healthy plants. I then asked how much a huge terracotta pot was to plant the herbs I bought. $3. I would have bought more had I know how reasonable they were priced. Then I took it a step further and asked if they had extra potting soil. This unassuming nice gentleman in overalls said I will help her. They were busy. I said do you know how to plant these herbs, I am kind of clueless. He said yes I definitely do. He helped me with a lot of patience and grace although he was being asked by a lot of people for help by other employees he focused on just me. I eventually got out of him that he was actually the owner Chuck. He was so humble about it. I had a great experience here and would HIGHLY recommend. I like to get a great deal and support someone who seems like just a really nice guy. My plants are at home thriving. read more

I just moved to this area a month ago. I happened to find Platt's Farm Market and just had to stop. It's Jersey tomato time and they had plenty! The flowers and trees they sell are gorgeous and VERY healthy. The people who work there, I believe it's the actual family who run the actual market, are extremely pleasant and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. I love Platt's. It's family owned with a huge selection of bedding plants, perennials, shrubs, and trees. The quality is exceptional, and they know horticulture and give great advice. Their prices are very competitive which is probably why it's usually pretty busy. We have bought lots and lots of plant material since we built our house, and 90% has come from Platt's. They don't stock things like tools, or watering cans, but they have a small stack of bedding soil in the spring. There is also a small selection of statuary and pots. They also offer one or two items of local produce whenever it's in season: asparagus, blueberries, etc. The parking can be tight, but there is usually space across the street. To address the 'animal abuse' concern mentioned by MS, they are soft hearted take in animals that have been abused by someone else. (The parrots belong to the family and are well cared for.) I am happy to give my business to such a good local company. read more

I absolutely love this place. I travel 55 miles south just to come here. And in doing so, I save about 40%. The selection of perennials and annuals are simply incredible. And, they do more than just "sell" the plants. There is a very nice gentleman who is very educated and is always happy to help with questions regarding horticulture. He has solved many problems for me, and is happy to offer his expertise. This man know his craft, and is a gem. I have a beautiful yard thanks to Platts and the expertise of the owner and staff. I highly, highly, highly recommend this place. Oh, and in reading one of the previous reviews titles "holy animal abuse"......I don't think the reviewer understands something about that chicken. That chicken was "dropped off" in that condition, and Platts took her in. Like they have taken in many strays. They are very good people! read more

I love this place. It is huge. It has a fabulous selection, especially annuals and everything I have ever seen has been healthy and well watered. The staff are helpful. It can get crazy on the weekend, go early and just wander. Plan to spend some time, no way can you get in and out in half hour if you have never been there. I forgot about all the animals they have roaming around, so maybe I'll take my little grandson with me next time. Well, well, worth the ride, and really not hard to find. read more
