A great exercise that doesn't feel like one because of the continually changing landscape and beautiful scenery. There's also a paved walkway for those who want a easier route. There is also a skateboarding area, a dog park, picnic tables throughout... everything you need in a park! Oh, and how can I not mention the Biergarten. Great spot with lots of open space. Now, that was a long time ago! Back in those days my young beagle never, ever got tired AND there were very few Milwaukee area dog parks so Sully and I frequented the Katherine Kearney Carpenter dog park. He got tired and I got relaxed. It was a win, win. This park is quite large as far as dog parks go. And, it's stunningly beautiful. There are wooded areas, prairie areas as well as a small creek. Do be aware, it is not fenced in. There are a few benches scattered throughout for a break and there is an agility course for the dogs on the north entrance. Sully was quite noteworthy at The Park. He loves "hunting" which involved baying or howling in a loud, high-pitched sound. People would often hear him before they saw him. His voice was so high-pitched people often worried that he was injured. Nope, just "hunting." Sully passed in 2019. We had such a fun time together and he lived a full, happy life. My current dog Sylvie is now 5 years old and I took to this park for the first time this fall. I reminisced and felt just a bit closer to my sweet boy Sully. And, Sylvie had a blast! She loves to swim! This is a wonderful park to relax, for dogs to get exercise and to be truly in nature. You'll love it here!

They have really nice trails that you can walk with your pup to get exercise. I intentionally went looking for this park with my service dog today and I was not disappointed…read more It's a beautiful park that offers clean open spaces, trails, grass, a fenced in area furry large and small dogs, interesting people, and more fun than my little 20 lbs of fur could stand! He's snoring his head off right now after running around like a madman in the small stuff area with his new BFF Charlie the Corgi! He also had fun in the big dog area with Dozer who really wanted to play! It was nice to be around people who were attentive to their fur babies vs walking trails with headphones on ignoring dogs that run wild in wooded off leash parks. I recently had a bad encounter with dogs jumping on me and dashing at my smaller dog. He is my service dog because I have a neurological disorder that causes me to lose my balance and fall. It's really irritating when people let their big dogs dash, run, and jump throughout a park and they are nowhere near to correct the dog. In this park, that can't happen because the area is more of an exercise area. It's enclosed but large enough for the dogs to really have fun chasing, tumbling, and running. The large dog area has a few challenge obstacles inside but nothing to obstruct ball tossing or free play. Within the play area, there are no trees for sugar to hide and dash at the unsuspecting passersby. Every parent can't see his/her baby and hold them accountable for good behavior! Outside the enclosures, there are many trails for those who want 1:1 encounters with their fur babies and nature. I walked the trail first with my dog. We love walking along trails. I give him plenty of time to sniff everything and I let him direct the adventure. Then, we went to the fenced area for some socializing (a.k.a. play). He had a great time and so did I. There are signs up that indicate there are fees to use this park. I'm not sure if that's still the case. So check it out before you go. The gates were up and open when I arrived but if there's a fee, I would say it's well worth it! This park was clean and attractive. It would be a great place for families, couples, singles, disabled, and dogs!!! We felt centered and calm when we left and can't wait to visit again!

You need a county park pass to enter. They provide poop bags as well just like the other parks. No free water for the dogs to drink though like Mukwonago.

It was our first time there and will will be returning frequently. Steep hills, very muddy in some parts right now, everything is fenced in except the entrance where you park your car and walk in.

Trails are slippery when muddy, wish paths had surface material like wood planks or pavers installed for safety. With flooding and poor path conditions you should leave phone and other devices you don't want to get water on in car, learned that the hard way on last trip.

We normally visit during the afternoon on a Saturday or Sunday. I have never seen more than a handful of other people or pups (in the small dog area - where we go). There are several picnic tables and benches, water bowls (all of which have been full with cold water when we get there, but make sure to bring water with you), dog toys like balls and tug of war ropes, and waste bag stations. Roxy loves investigating all of the smells. She's also been so good at socializing with other pups, rather than hiding under mom's feet, and the other doggies have always been very nice to her/us. Kudos to Milwaukee County Parks for maintaining such a wonderful dog park :)

It was a quiet spot and a decent beach. Couple issues the parking at the top of the hill is only 1 hour so we had to park a street over. Also there is a lot of horseflies so that kind of sucks and the beach is super rocky so not the most fun to walk. Overall if you just want to read and lay out this is the prefect place but maybe bring a fly swatter.

Although it is just off of the ever busy Lake Drive, it feels very secluded and much more relaxing than other nearby parks. It's been quite some time since we've visited Lake Park, but I absolutely love it here! We were actually kicking ourselves that we don't come here more often to enjoy nature, as it really is beautiful in all seasons. There is no shortage of trails, short or long, that wind through the park and dip down into the ravines. This includes stairs and some rockier walk ways that lead out to the lakefront. If you prefer to stay on the flat road, you can enjoy the well-paved paths by foot or by bike. We had our stroller along and were able to push it throughout. You'll pass by a golf course, the fancy Lake Park Bistro restaurant, lawn bowling greens, statues, and even the infamous Milwaukee light house. Looking forward to the summertime in hopes that the weekly concert series returns to this park, in addition to the traveling beer garden. My son should be walking soon enough, so we'll no doubt return to let him run free and get some fresh air, while we enjoy views of the lake!
