There's a decent disc golf course (tricky), three soccer fields (two on one side, one way on the other), a nice little hike, and the area is popular with dog owners, most of whom clean up after their best friends. Way more parking than you need if you don't mind a walk and you're coming here for exercise, right?

Essentially, it's a giant field house that can accommodate any and all types of sporting matches you can think of (save for swimming, ice skating, etc.) You get the idea. A giant giant indoor space can be divided into four different spaces, and rental rates are relatively inexpensive. For larger spectator events, the Sports Complex staff will do parking, security, concessions, etc. There are large-ish locker rooms and ample bathrooms for a place of this size. They have bleachers. The have outdoor fields as well for soccer, baseball, and whatever else you could want to play outside. We played our first four Bruiser home seasons here, and despite the fact that it's not exactly centrally located (it's all the way out in Franklin), it suited our growing needs just fine. (Now, however, we've moved to the US Cellular Arena, as we could no longer fit our fan base into the Sports Complex.) It's a nice addition to our parks system, and a great place for kids/amateur/recreational sporting matches. It was great for our BCB home season too, but change is good, too.

Our birthday coordinator was so helpful and ran games for the kids on the field. I'd highly recommend Milwaukee Yard for birthday parties! We've also used the playroom outside of parties and my kids love it.

When I booked this party, I received a confirmation email stating that someone was going to reach out to me within a couple of days to talk details. Never heard from anyone, and after about two weeks, I called to confirm and ask a few questions. On party day, we were not able to get into the first play area until 6 minutes past start time due to other people being in there. Next was the field part of the party, which they specifically asked me which 3 activities I would like to select for the kids. I chose soccer, freeze dance and parachute games. Host did not execute any of those- he stood around the whole time and did not engage with kids at all. He even asked me which songs I wanted for the kids, so I'm not understanding why he didn't do that activity with the kids? At the last part of the party, I asked why he didn't do any of the other activities with the kids and he said it's "hard to get the kids attention when they are playing". Okay, but that's what we paid for? So make it happen. All in all, the kids had a good time and didn't seem bored, but for the price you pay to have a party here, I expected more. Thank you to whoever set up the party room for us, because it was great! They really should have gotten the tip that our host received, because I'm sorry but standing around does not deserve a tip. I read a review before booking this party about their host doing the same thing. I was hoping that was just a bad day for the host and most parties do not go that way. I guess we got unlucky with that as well. Managers should take these reviews seriously and correct this part of the party experience. It would make a big difference in the expectations that parents have/expect.

There is a driveway that…read moreleads to a large parking lot far enough away that one cannot hear automobiles from the adjacent road. The park hosts a large pavilion (it can be rented out) with a lot of picnic tables that are like brand new, grills, nice indoor bathrooms, a softball diamond, a large playground, a basketball goal, a sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits, and plentiful areas for picnics. During the time of my first visit, I was unable to explore the hiking trails that lead through the natural areas of prairies, woodlands, and wetlands. However, I was able to enjoy the tranquility of the surround landscape while discussing upcoming plans with friends. There were a couple family with kids playing at the playground and a man walking his dog along the edge of the manicured lawn and prairie plants. The lights are on a timer at the Pavilion and turned on at dusk. The women's restroom was clean and I did not see any spiders (this is extremely important to me.... I hope it continues to remain spider free!). After a Google search, I discovered this park was created recently to serve as a "pollinator paradise" that also slows runoff from the surrounding landscape into the Pike River. *my heart* It's everything I went to graduate school for and then some. This is an ideal place for a nature hike, meeting, taking your kids to play, picnic, family reunion, bridal/baby shower, etc. I was really impressed with the up-keep. Although it is a 35 minute drive, I plan on returning to explore the hiking trails with my pup and meeting up with friends. This is definitely a successful project that was completed by Mount Pleasant and Root-Pike WIN (with assistance from U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services, Fund for Lake Michigan, and other partnerships). 5 stars!!!
