They switched to Greenix, and auto-charged me even though we cancelled service with Rove the previous year. After discussions, they wouldn't reimburse me and tried to keep me as a client. I asked if they would provide an additional free follow up service and they said no. So I stated I would dispute the charge with my CC and they relented. EVERY SINGLE appointment had an issue. The "technicians" never completed a full service of the property (all four levels), they just sprayed some chemicals around the outside and maybe spent a total of 6 minutes inside our 2+ story duplex in St. Paul. We've had to ask them for follow up service each time they've come out. My advice: do your own research and do it yourself. It's not hard or expensive. You can buy the spray, you can place the traps/poison, you can seal entry points. My point: it's not worth the terrible service they provide. read more

I paid for a quarterly service for a year and then they auto billed me again and wouldn't refund me when I told them I no longer needed it. I was told though that I had paid for a quarter and could have them come out for reservice as needed. I tried taking them up on that and was denied and later told that I actually had prepaid for all services which were once per quarter. Bruce is not to be trusted. Fraud. We hired Rove to control spiders at our home, at first treatment things improved for a bit then they would come and treat the house , two days later all the webs were back . Every time I even called for retreating same results. I called them gave them one last chance to get the job done they came out didn't even knock down all the webs same results two days after all webs were back. So I terminated them went and bought two cans of Raid and roach and spiders. Problem solved after more than a thousand dollars two cans of Raid did what they couldn't do in two years. Don't use this company there a ripoff they take your money and do nothing Fact! read more

Jordan cancelled via text 15 minutes before our meeting time, and suggested to reschedule for a day/time I already told him I was unavailable. This was our first experience with Rove after my husband decided to try them out when a sales person came to our door with big promises. Technician came out to our house and was there less than 20 minutes and supposedly did mosquito abatement, mole traps, and Pest Control around our property. We have a fairly large property and highly unlikely that he was able to accomplish all this in 20 minutes. After he left, I went out to look around and see what had been done. There was literally spider webs with spiders still left throughout the perimeter of my home. Needless to say, we went back to Spidex for our pest control. Beware! Don't make a decision on impulse and sign up with a company before checking out some reviews to get a bigger picture. read more

We were sold a promise without follow through. When they came to our door they promised they were as good as if not better than Orkin. They promised to come out any time we called with an issue, they said their products were as good as Orkin, they said they were cheaper than Orkin....all of which is a lie. Within 20 minutes of signing the contract the sales guy was back asking to resign the contract because he messed it up and it was going to be a bit more expensive then we originally discussed. He offers to pay me out of his own pocket but obviously we weren't going to take his money. We signed up for the full plan including the mosquito add on as we had with Orkin. Not only do we have ants, spiders, mice, and wasps, we also have mosquitoes! I have to pay Rove and do my own pest control. This is absolutely a waste of money in my opinion. If they would allow us out of our contract we would gracefully accept and go back to Orkin in a heartbeat. read more

I had come back from a hotel recently and suspected the bites I found all over my body were bedbugs I'd brought home. Rove sent out Brian. Brian was extremely communicative and helpful. He inspected my bed free of charge. Glad to hear I don't have bedbugs, but will definitely reach out if I ever need pest control in the future. Recommended highly for this service. read more

Had them come spray for boxelder bugs. They came in the morning when it was 32 degrees out and freezing. I would of thought the afternoon would have been better. Needless to say their spray did not work. I called a d was told the spray will keep working and to give it 20 more days. In the meantime I can't go out on my deck. REVIEW EDIT: They responded and fixed the issues and apologized for their mistake. Very happy with how they handled this complaint and issue and they have won me back. They went above and beyond to make sure I was happy and stayed on top of communication with me and had a tech come out and redo the service immediately. When the field rep arrived he told my TENANT that I had an unpaid bill and that he would not be performing the service. This was not info that was emailed to me, I did not get a call about, and the rep that morning did not say anything about it. Instead they felt the need to tell my TENANT that I'm behind on a bill I didnt know about instead of telling me. When I called them to talk about this they said someone would call me back and then they never called me back. I would not recommend using a service that likes to tell your tenants about late bills and not talk to you about it, in addition they go through all of the motions to schedule and appointment and give you zero warning about whether or not they will perform the service ahead of time. I'm mad I ever chose to work with them. A companies true mettle is in how they respond to complaints and feedback. I have been massively unimpressed with how Rove has been handling their customer service thus far. It's not hard to make something this simple right, instead I feel like they are just running away from the problem. Find a better company, it'll be worth it in the long run. read more

I got a treatment from Rove and then asked for a retreatment for a large hornets next at my entry they missed initially that I had pointed out to their sales associate. After waiting 3-4 weeks I decided to cancel because their service was entirely ineffective. -Missed large hornet nest in front -Infestation of Japanese beetles - yard granules ineffective -Spiders in most corners of garage -Ant activity in front entrance and around back trees -Sapling trees and small garden in back leaves being eaten -New activity of voles in my yard that I had gotten rid of prior to Rove. I would strongly advise you top stay away. The onsite technician was great the first time but the business practices are deceptive and shady. They lock into an expensive contract. I'm not sure if/when anyone came back to house. And then sat on hold forever trying to cancel the service. UPDATE: The business has NOT reached out to me as they commented below stating they would. Again, POOR SERVICE. Rove Pest Control is charging a $104 cancellation fee. I call BS. We're out of the 1 year contract already. What we originally signed said we only have to provide a 30 day notice. They automatically scheduled a service appointment for April - I called to cancel that appointment and let them know I'll send in the written notice. They would not cancel the appointment. And technically speaking I could change the appointment to whatever works for me, so I could push it to April 30 and by the time they receive my notice dated March 27, I'd be notifying them to cancel in time. But no. Now they're just charging me an insane amount. What really pisses me off is I offered to use their service when our new home is built come fall - but to postpone everything for now because we're leaving the current home. There was no getting out of paying for April either way. The person I spoke with via phone said she would speak to someone about the situation and give me a call back. She never returned my call. I will never use their service again and will never recommend them. read more

The associates are very professional and detailed oriented, address all the concerns in and outside of the house. Their customer service is great. Personally, a good customer service is worth more than fliers and coupon cheap deals. All my friends started using Rove and heard positive feedback from them too. We have had Rove for about 8 years and they do a great job. Prior to our service with Rove we had two other company's and we were not happy, they didn't do a good job and the technicians were sketchy and kind of creepy. We live in the woods on 2 acres, so we have lots of wildlife, mice, bugs, hornets etc. and Rove takes care of anything that we have an issue with. For 2 years we had a problem with Bull snakes and Rove had a snake specialist come out and take care of it. The technicians are always very polite, personable and prompt and professional. Customer service is great, not easy to find these days. read more

Rove is a scam. They try to sign you up with a "discount" but don't tell you that if you are unhappy with the service and cancel you then lose the discount and have to pay an additional $130. I had Rove stop out at my house (2) times and it cost me $370. What did that service get me you ask? The $370 got me some lawn dust for ticks and (2) mouse poison traps. This company is a a joke and robs people blind. Would never recommend. read more

Thomas deserves 10 stars for both his professional and personal etiquettes. This was our first but definitely our best customer service experience. He was by far the most detailed, courteous and knowledgeable person. He did a very thorough inspection, explained the process and even cleaned the cobwebs on our front porch during the treatment. While the pest control portion of them has been somewhat sufficient, the customer service is the worst. You will be locked into a contract without your knowledge, they will not return phone calls or emails if you are upset & are very unprofessional. I have been very disappointed. There are certainly FAR BETTER LOCAL companies that you do not enter into a contract with and will make sure you are satisfied. read more

A one star is generous. Buyer beware. Read the other reviews here before engaging Rove. We've had Rove in two different cycles. The first time was very effective in controlling voles but the second time has left a bit to be desired. We had vole damage again this spring and when brought up to the company, they said the tech did not notice any upon servicing the bait box. How that's possible, I'm not sure since there was snow on the ground the day they came out and it was obvious the tech neither serviced the bait box or even visited the backyard. Nevertheless, we recently tried to cancel service because we are moving and no longer need the services. Called to cancel 3 weeks ahead of our next service date but was told we needed to accept that service because it was already on their calendar and within the 30 day cancellation window. I explained the failed service and yard damage from their spring service and the agent couldn't have cared less. Simply said I would have to pay them either way. Today I received a new invoice for service cancellation of $117. When I called today, the agent was rude and unprofessional and told me the "invoice wasn't going away." When asked if the situation made sense to him he said, no but it didn't matter, I still needed to pay. He also then told me that I should have known I was moving before that and cancelled then. Not that it matters but this was a quick move. Responsibility on both sides but this is not a company that cares about the customer. The whole thing is a money grab. Make sure you know what you're getting yourself into. read more

Called Rove for a serious ant problem we had in our home. Paid for a one time visit of over $200. Technician came out and serviced our entire home and was impressed. Two days later the ants returned and three weeks later they are the worst they have ever been. Called Customer Service twice to speak to a Manager. No one returned my phone call. On a third call, I was able to speak with Jesse (Manager). Says that there was nothing he could do without us purchasing a one year service agreement. No guarantee of work if used once. We were basically screwed. We ended up calling another company and they were out within 24 hours, they were less expensive, they guarantee their work and their was no heavy sales pitch to purchase a one year contract. if u could give 0 stars I wpuld. they have been to our house about 4 times now about a wasp problem in the walls of our house and every single time they have only sprayed the entrance hole outside and left. one even left a mouse trap outside and called it a day. the wasps are INSIDE. we showed him what room they were in (it took a lot of convincing to even get him to look inside the house, you know, where the wasps are) and he saw the room full of wasps and said "we can't do anything about that" I'm sorry WHAT? the pest control co pany can't take care of the wasps in the house??? he was determined to do what every other rove guy did before which was to just spray the best (which he wasn't willing to even FIND) as if that's not something anyone could do. pest control company that is basically just your brave friend that will spray the nest with bug spray for you, but that's it. no actually FINDING the nest even at the very least, only spraying bug spray around outside of the house where we've seen them. and the kicker is that he was saying "well it's gonna be winter soon, they'll just freeze to death" how the hell does a pest control company not grasp that wasps generate heat and also that they're INSIDE WHERE ITS WARM. they are NOT going to die of the cold, they're going to become an exclusively indoor problem for the entirety of the fucking winter. it's not my decision to call them or I would have given up on them the first time when they put out a mouse trap to deal with the wasps that immediately filled up with leaves after catching a single mouse. my useless property manager who promised us she wouldn't call this useless company again keeps calling them and giving them mney to do nothing about the issue. if you want your pest issue actually solved, you'd have better luck asking your neighbor for help. read more

Sales person, Josh, came to my door. Very pushy to the point of coming off as aggressive. We called the police when he stopped by a second time. He didn't have his solicitor's license visible (illegal in Hudson). He claimed he had it in his car, but didn't remember where he had parked the car. We followed up with the police; come to find out that he did not have a license to be selling door to door. Complete creep, I was sure he was trying to case my house to rob it. read more

I have made multiple attempts to contact the company via phone to work this out, and the reps I have spoken to just talk in circles and blame me for our customer service issues. We received a service (apparently our second to last on the contract,) and the service rep breached the contract by performing the service poorly. I'm aware that Rove does not supply the type of mouse traps that are boxes in which mice can be trapped. However, we DO have them, and the Rove rep dumped them as they've done in the past. However this time, he decided to dump the dead, decaying mice in our yard and landscaping. I KNOW that the mice were not previously there because I was potty training our dog at the time, doing laps around our yard 8-10 times a day. They appeared as soon as he left. We have 4 small children, and 3 dogs-2 of whom are Labrador Retrievers. Not only is this disgusting, but it's unsafe for my family. The customer service agent I spoke with on the phone tried to blame me, and I told him I would not pay for the final service on the contract (which had not yet been performed.) I told him I would not pay that due to the fact that the agent had been so disrespectful and threw the dead mice all over our yard. I did pay for the service performed that day. I do not think I should have to pay for the final unperformed service, or a cancellation fee, due to the fact that the agent who did our service breached the contract by performing it unsatisfactorily. The customer service representative told me he would speak with his supervisor regarding the fee, and the supervisor would contact me the next day. Didn't happen. Then I received a $150+ charge on my card, without my permission. Not okay. I've contacted the company again about this, as they're threatening to send me to collections for a CANCELLATION FEE that they're disguising as the "difference in the amount discounted for 5 services" since I didn't do my 5th service. I did pay for the unsatisfactory service, but I do NOT want these ass clowns at my house again. read more

I did not see results after 2 visits, so I decided to place my account "on hold" for a few months to see if we could try some other tactics. I was told I could place a hold by the exterminator during the original visit/ before I signed anything. However when I called, they told me I could not make any changes during the first year. When I asked what my options were, they said I had none. So I canceled and was left with a large cancellation fee. I would not recommend this company. read more

I wish I could say that the service provided by your company was adequate or satisfactory but I cannot. The service technician that serviced my property in January 2020 left a bait station open in a location next to our house and near the patio where we let our dogs out. It is just simple luck on your part that they did not ingest the bait. As the snow has melted it is apparent the we have had a severe Vole problem in our back yard. The reason we hired you in the first place was because you assured me that you were experienced in dealing with Voles and implied that you would eliminate them from our yard. You did not. The damage this year is much greater than last year when we did not have your service. read more

Please note service was performed because we experienced a one time issue with wood ants. I'm not entirely sure Rove Pest Control is a one and done pest control service. To clarify, I was talked into signing up for their one year contract agreement with quarterly visits. The technician didn't make it seem as if he would perform service for only that visit without a signed contract. It didn't bother me after the fact because we've always had great service from the technicians that came and never experienced any pests indoors. The reason for only three stars is the following: To cancel your agreement after the one year, the contract states that a written notice must be provided 30 days prior to cancellation or something along those lines. My one year was on January 9th. I drafted my letter, printed, signed, and mailed on January 17th. In my letter, I disclosed my home address, account number, and purpose of the letter (which was to cancel/close my account). I even disclosed that it is the customer's (my) understanding that there are no outstanding/unpaid invoices and for them to not schedule the February appointment. Fast forward to today, February 10th, I get a text message reminder from Rove saying I have a scheduled appointment for February 17th. I call Rove Customer Service and the account manager indicated they did not receive any letter or have any notes on my account regarding the letter. Initially, I did some research and discovered that there is a common issue with past customers trying to cancel/close their accounts. All in all, service is good but you'll have trouble trying to cancel/close the account when you want to go in a different direction. read more

If i could give it a zero, i would. Very rude, and terrible communicators. I'm giving the benefit of the doubt that it's not deliberate scamming. The first technician who came brought glue boards, even though I was very clear when I set up my service that I didn't want glue boards. The person I spoke to assured me they would have bait stations and snap traps. When the technician came, he had many glue boards. I told him I didn't want them, and that I had been been very clear about that. He said "They don't tell us nothing." [This technician was very nice and professional otherwise] He said he had no snap traps, and that there were none in stock. I then called Rove to explain the situation, and ask for snap traps. The person I spoke to was apologetic, and set up an appointment for me to be home so they could bring snap traps. I took time off from work to be home. A technician arrived today with two metal traps. I asked him where the snap traps were. He said I didn't need them, because these metal traps were better. I said that was ok, he could install those, but I had been told I was getting snap traps. Technician became argumentative and threatened to leave. I then was on the phone numerous times with Rove. They were rude and insulting. I asked for my contract to be cancelled. She changed the subject and said wait to see results at the one month follow-up. My main problem with these people is that I was told one thing on the initial phone call, then the company did not keep their word. When I called and asked for the owner's name, she wouldn't gibe it to me. She said "I don't think you need to speak with the owner because of a snap trap." I checked the Secretary of State website to see if I could find the owner's name. There was no individual's name. Next stop: Attorney General's Office, Better Business Bureau. Shady business, folks. I was not happy with an annual (4 visits) contract that they forgot to mention during the first visit. If I had known, I would have found another company. However, I needed immediate help with mice/bee problem with the new house. People on the phone were nice, field service staffs were friendly. The only issue is, nothing was resolved and I still have the same problems. After one full year with 4+ services, I'm still having the same issues as I did before. In other words, I spent $450 on... nothing. I was hoping after a year, I would see improvements. Honestly, useless service. Again, staffs were friendly and appeared to know what they were doing. The product/service they offered just didn't help me a bit. I hope others will have better luck. read more
