So I totally got scammed by this place. I brought my vehicle here because it would start and run for a bit and die. So I tell the mechanic about what was going on with the car and he tells me he knows what's wrong it's a battery,and needs spark plugs? Ok. Wants full payment up front. Ok. I also got used tires from him and paid cash for them. So he doesn't give me a estimate or anything and just does the work which took about a month to complete after I paid him in full first. Now I'm thinking he definitely did a diagnosis test to it first that told him it was the battery and plugs that was causing the issues right. I get the car back had it for 1 hour it broke down 3 times same issue and I finally get it back to him and he says well now I got to put the computer on it to see what the problem is and I said why didn't u do that first like your supposed to. He said I thought I knew what it was and goes to tell me the computer says it's running rich and he wants another 300.00 to do a smog test to find out the issue. Now he already charged me around 1200.00 for the prior work that he guessed at doesn't other a refund for putting parts I didn't need in my car and know wants to charge me more and it's just to see the issues with it. So I got upset this is 2 months now dealing with the back and forth then when I wanted a refund he told me if I'm not going to pay more money to fix it then he's charging me 35.00 a day for storage fees. Which is just not right. I paid him my card not fixed and he's now he won't give my car back to me. Even after he's paid for the wrong work done to my car. I'm in the middle of getting lawyers involved. He pretends to care about you until he gets paid and then he just tries to get as much money as he can out of you. Please don't not allow him to steal your car like he's trying to do from me. I can't work because of this mess he's doing to me. Please stay away from this place there scam artist. I watched these men yell at a woman because she informed them that somebody else had spelt a little bit of gas and that they might want to know to clean it up so after yelling at her, I said I'm sorry I actually don't know what pump a map but it's the one next to five. The guy looks at me and goes SO SIX, and my response was yeah I guess so. I wasn't sure if it was sixth of the one right next to it was six because I can't see that far and the guy who's working with him who was also the other man yelling at the woman looks at me and goes yeah well it's your responsibility to know and I was like wow guy it's not that deep and he goes well. It is that deep if you're gonna give my guy attitude, I said your guy just yelled at me and you both just yelled at the woman who is ahead of me so I'm supposed to feel comfortable walking in here as a female as an absolutely fucking not. I would strongly recommend NOT bringing you car here. They had my car for a full day and the mechanic couldnt figure out what was wrong. He then tells me its the battery and changes it. The very next day I had the same problem so the battery wasnt the issue, I bring the car back to them in the morning and when I call at the end of the day he tells me he didnt have time to look at it and it will be another day. The next day comes along and now he tells me its the alternator,but at this point I refuse to have them work on it. The best part of this is before I brought it to them I had my regular mechanic look at it and he tests the battery and alternator and tells me that isnt the problem. Unfortunately he was backed up on work and couldnt look at my car for a week. Be careful these guys seem to be clueless and looking to milk their customers for as much money as they can. I do NOT recommend this place as the mechanic is incompetent. They replaced my real break's rotors and brake pads as required. Price was ok. The parking brake did not work when I got home. Brought it back later. Without asking or telling me, they removed the center console to adjust my parking breaks. They charged an additional fee for this. Parking breaks still didn't work. Shame on me for not checking before leaving. A later visit where I told them the parking still does not work, they said I needed new calipers but stated they are only available at Honda and I need to go to the dealership for the repair. I stated to them the earlier parking break adjusting fee was worthless as it did not fix anything. They said they spent a lot of time on my car and did not refund the parking breaks adjusting fee. Other than the time they spent replacing the real brake pads and rotors, the time they spent to diagnosis my breaks was worthless as they did not fix the parking break and gave incorrect information. The next day I took my car to a different place, not the dealership as they said I needed to. The other place had no problems replacing the brake calipers the same day. The new calipers fixed the parking break. You may be lucky and not have issues with this place but why take the change as I'm not the only one who reported problems. read more

I've taken my aging Prius to this Citgo so many times, I know nothing about cars but JC has taken care of me each time, and a few times has shown me the exact problem while I waited. That was a major win for me as I've been hosed by Toyota dealerships in the past by them telling me things were broken when they really weren't, so that added a lot of trust for me. The service has been fast, reliable, and friendly. One of the other big perks for me is that since it's a gas station as well, I can pickup my car well after the garage closes so I don't have to worry about getting out of work early to pick it up. read more

My last review was filtered, so I'll try to be more balanced with this one. When this garage was owned by Rodney (of Rod's Auto) and his successor Mason, this was one of the best garages in Lowell. The service was honest and appropriately priced. Recently, (late 2010) the garage was taken over by new owners. It's hard to say how this will affect the quality of work at the garage. I recently brought my low mileage used car to be checked out and was told I'd need to pay $1500 to pass inspection. A few days prior, a friend was overcharged for a fancy exhaust he didn't want. I then decided to get a second opinion. Another reputable garage in Lowell quoted $560 for the same repairs necessary to pass inspection. They now have my business.
