Some are thrift-like, some are vintage, some are new. As seems often the case, nearly everything was geared towards women though. My colleague purchase a cute pair of earrings for $16. The elderly gentleman that was running the store was super friendly. Parking is a challenge - there's a double row of metered spots splitting the U-shaped strip mall but every spot was taken (we had walked from our conference/hotel). He sent me to a buy/sell/trade establishment, and but they gave me $10 for several silk ties bought at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and still in the wrapping as well as some amazing clothing that my mother had before she died (from Jones of New York and Talbotts, almost never worn). I felt like he thought I wouldn't have anything because of the way I was dressed. (I don't dress up to show my status in the world, and clothes are not that important to me.) I really despise what feels like prejudice, and I cannot believe that he lied straight to my face and didn't even tell me of the other consignment store on the street.

Upon entrance, the staff was very helpful in potentially pointing me in the right direction. I told them what I was looking for and they immediately searched through their database to see if they could show off some pieces. As I looked through some of their clothes, they came to me with some of the pieces that matched what I was in search of. Unfortunately, they weren't really a match but I kept shopping anyway. I ended finding a couple shirts that I really liked. I was able to try the clothes on to see if the fit was good. I decided to go ahead and purchase two shirts. I was all in about $50 for two shirts, but the prices can range heavily based on which themes of clothing, especially winter clothing. When checking out, the owner was very kind in talking with me. He even gave me some other shop recommendations more local to me up in Charlotte. They sent me on my way with a solid tote bag and some stickers. The personal touch is always so refreshing to see in a world where some much shopping is done online. My husband recently had to go into a Wheelchair and at the time we could not afford one. I heard through a friend that she had seen them at His House and to go look there. When i told the man at the desk what i was looking for... the took me to a room with all kinds of medical equipment from wheelchairs to walkers... and told me to take what we needed. He said i could make i donation if I could afford to for whatever i needed from the store. And also while I was there i noticed an employee walking around with a Young mother and her young children who had just lost thier home to a fire. She too was being told to take whatever she needed! WOW.. this is charity at it's finest.... .and we should all support any establishment that is giving back to our community in that way..... HIS HOUSE ROCKS! -Blessed
