Very large place. Bigger inside than it looks. So many beautiful things. I got a couple of them.

Visiting my son and daughter in love that just moved to Sumter. This place was recommended by their realtor. I visited 2 times while I was in town. I absolutely adore this place (though sometime over the past 2 years SOMETHING has changed. I can't figure out what it is, but I don't adore it QUITE as much as I used to.) But still...it is filled from front to back, from top to bottom with the most eclectic stuff ever. Even the front outside is filled with treasures. Some of their stuff is expensive, some cheap (though prices seem to be generally getting steeper I've noticed, maybe part of the "change" that I already mentioned). Nevertheless, I have bought several "treasures" there including an antique ice pick, a large framed photograph of a black WW1 soldier (!!!), a large georgian watercolor painting, a set of georgian plates, a Stacy Lambert lizard planter, an antique darning egg, a tiny portrait of an french comic actress from 1740, some porcelain dollhouse dolls...I ALWAYS find something I want, whether I buy it or not. I'm currently pondering going back to see if they still have the rhinoceros bookends and the cement lion head that I keep thinking about. My dad, who has much grander taste than I has also found things to keep him coming back....a huge taxidermied pike, a beautiful art deco sideboard, garden statuary, etc. The owners are just my style...they look a little gruff, but I've had fun and enlightening conversations with them. The woman seems to be the researcher and fixer, while man walks around, but not as an aggressive salesman. Usually he's directing in new shipments of stuff or up front taking your money. I have had good conversations with him about some of the things I bought. In short, if you like thrift/antique/junque stores, do not miss it if you are within an hours drive. You will not be disappointed! Keep your eyes moving up, down, side to side and go slowly. You WILL find SOMETHING neat! read more

It's a picker's paradise here with aisles filled with treasured knick knacks from bygone eras . It will take at least an hour to wind your way through all there is to see here . There's stuff on both the outside and inside . Free parking. read more
