Loved this place! Reminded me of Rainbow Cattle Company in Austin, but way more men than women. But everyone got along nicely and danced harmoniously. Really good dancers there, but they are pretty patient with learners. Nothing negative about the experience! Lots of bars, so you can always get a drink pretty quickly. It was busy, but I didn't wait much at any bar. I like that the bars have different themes. Take me to the bourbon bar every time though. Round-Up Saloon has been on my list for years and on a recent visit to Dallas, a few friends finally made it happen! When you think Texas, while you may think line dancing and country bars, you rarely think of a gay country bar with line dancing! But it exists and is Round-Up Saloon! The bar is large, as are most things in Texas. While it seems like one big open space, there are separate areas from the dance floor to pool table area, more formal bar station and even a patio. There are six distinct bars throughout, each with their own vibe! This makes getting a drink easier and cuts down on the wait, which is very appreciated by all! We spent most of our time overlooking the dance floor. When we wanted a drink, we made our way to the small corner bar. We had a favorite bartender and this was their station for the night! Speaking of drinks, they are a bit pricey, including a water, but with that, they are certainly gay-bar strong! With the size of the place, it can and does get packed, so be prepared. There is enough space, but it gets intimate the later in the evening it gets. Overall, we had a phenomenal time at Round-Up Saloon. The most memorable part, which was amazing to see and feel, was the spirit of everyone just existing and being themselves. Absolutely one of my favorite gay bars I have visited! read more

Ther staff here is always AMAZING!!! We have become regulars and they always remember us and what we like to drink. The dancing is great with one of the larger dance floors on the Strip. On Friday and Saturday, it's usually Country music until about midnight, then changes to dance music. They have great specials all week and have free dance lessons every evening Monday through Thursday, with everything from beginner to advanced partner and line dancing (Mon & Tue - Partner Dancing; Wed & Thurs - Line Dancing). I've been here numerous times in the past and never had any issues until this past Saturday evening 8/02/25. My friends and I headed over to the RoundUp around 9 PM to hang out a bit. It was early and not busy at all. The dance floor was completely empty. My friend & I mustered up the courage to get on the dance floor and have some fun. We weren't on the dance floor for even 5 minutes and soon thereafter other couples joined my friend & I on the dance floor. I was thankful for that because it takes a lot of courage to be the first on the dance floor. A few minutes into dancing, a staff member approached my friend & I and asked we get off the dance floor as we were not a couple and not "connected" stating we needed to respect the RoundUps culture. I've never, and I mean ever been asked to get off the dance floor at any bar or club. Now don't get me wrong, I know bars have theme nights, etc which I totally understand and respect. But the way the bar staff approached us was wrong. I was most upset about him telling us we needed to respect their culture. First of all honey, I'm gay and in a gay bar!! This IS MY PLACE! And secondly, there was absolutely NO SIGNAGE anywhere that indicated only a certain kind of dancing was allowed on the dance floor!! I went to the Round-up Saloon for the first time while I'm visiting from a different state. I loved the line dancing lessons, it was great fun! However, after two hours of dancing, I asked the bar for water, which I had to purchase for $3.50! My friends and I decided to leave very shortly after that but we were stopped at the door from leaving the establishment with the same, almost full, water bottles I just purchased from the bar. Instead of wasting my money, we stopped to down the water, which in turn made me sick on the car ride home. These were non-alcoholic, plastic bottles that were purchased inside the establishment so I do not understand why I couldn't leave with them, let alone that I had to purchase water at an establishment that offers dancing lessons in the first place, water (at the very least) should be provided for free. read more

Went here last night for Halloween. I get it's a busy night. Some girl was waiting at the bar near me longer than I had been, so at least more than 15 minutes. Her friend came over to try to help her get noticed, and simply waved at one of the bartenders, not aggressively at all. The bartender, a bald white man in blue plaid, took a solid minute out of his shift to yell at the girls very rudely. I watched as the girls stood there stunned, not even responding back, as he is blowing up in their face for "waving". I get that it's a busy night but if you can't handle something like this without being disrespectful to your paying customers, maybe get a different job. Really, we watched him take a whole minute out of his shift to blow up on some young girls without good reason. When all he had to say was "I see you, I'm busy right now give me a sec and I'll be there". Insane behavior. read more

I first ordered a margarita and it didn't taste right, I expressed that to the bartender and he told me this ain't basking robins in a rude tone lol. Alrighty then, no customer service. I went to a second bartender and the manager, and they were so nice to remake my drink and it tasted like a margarita. Usually have the best time but tonight while visiting DFW - the bartender to the right of the dance floor - all the way at the end closest to the front of the building tonight, was so rude to me and my husband....fr fr - i want to thank the other bartender 4 being so nice. What happened: I asked him " Do you have flavored Red Bulls, cuz i would like a vodka redbull" - he said "do I need to f'in order ur drink for you sweetheart", and then when I said - "well no u could just do ur job and answer my question", he poured me nothing but redbull in my cup and charged me for it like it had vodka in it (being the middle class gorl i am - i gave her my card) Then blew him a kiss and gave him a wink. He then said "make sure to leave me a zero tip" - and tbh ngl atp I saidd....gorl f u - u really think whatever ur finna charge me is gonna break my bank - that's why i left the drink after paying for it - and did write a zero for ur tip cuz you are one. Let me see a crazy a$$ charge on my card - I'll be up there real quick for my coin. Yall really need to check the attitudes of your employees. TMC across the street has better customer service - nicer bartenders - and they actually tell you what products they have for sale without all the extra bs and drama. Best/safest feeling spot in Dallas to go out to! The surrounding area has a lot of bars, but this is by far the coolest/most fun one. Love the dancefloor, the disco ball is so fun. They have good drinks, bartenders work fast and are nice. I would definitely come back when I am back in town! read more

We had SO much fun here! We ate at streets fine chicken and headed over here to play billiards.... It was super slow and I was concerned it may be too slow of a vibe. Thankfully that changed quickly! After three rounds of pool, we headed over to the bar area by the entrance and they were doing karaoke. I was so excited because I love karaoke and of course in the gayborhood you have the best company ever since it's just a really great, fun vibe for everyone. The singers were incredible. Honestly you would have thought it was some audition for americas got talent or something with how good everyone was! I wish there was an area like this closer to where I live (I'm a little over an hour away) bc it would be so fun to go daydrinking and hang out all day. read more

Its fun to be at a bar, where one can start dancing as a group ;) That's exactly what happened at this place while we were visiting with some friends back in 2016! Our friends moved to Texas so we decided to visit them. One evening we decided for bar hopping. Started drinking at one bar then went to this place - 'Round-Up Saloon' This is how old styles saloons look like. Lots of place to dance around with drinks served through out the bar. We ordered couple of drinks then decided to dance. But then all of sudden everyone decided to follow certain set of steps and we all started to follow their lead. And within couple of minutes it seemed like we were performing as a group. It was fun since it was impromptu with no rehearsals whatsoever. Amazing place. Country music was played up until about midnight, as everyone line danced:) Then top 100 music for the rest of the night, ranging from reggaeton/ rap/hip hop/pop. Used to love this place, great vibe always had a good time. Now they charge for WATER. Our DD tried to order a water and was told they only offer bottle water which you have to pay for. I hate to give a bad review to any business from the community. however, sometimes, I think is just right. I have guests visiting from San Francisco and London, Friday night, they decide to go to the roundup . the friend from London heard so much about that place, and he was so looking forward to see it. they arrived to the bar at 9PM, the big clown on the door, big guy, bearded, may think he work for the FBI or something, but, he asked for IDs , and I am totally ok with that , its should be that way for our own safety. my friend from SF show him the ID, my sec friend from Dallas had an ID, my friend from London, sadly have a Pic of his passport, common, who want to cary a passport to a bar? in case he loose it and he will not be able to travel, so he toke a pic of it. the "super" security ( who I saw him before making out with guys in the front door ( and that is safety ) did not agree to let him in, now, my friend is not a 20 years old, he is 56, meaning, if its an age issue, come on, he is a. silver hair man, if its a policy , ok, I get its but he have a phot ID on his phone, what is the issue ? he is visiting from the UK, come one , use a common sense . this is not right. we go there very often, and we like the place. I just think if you hire someone to be in the door. maybe make sure he got a better attitude and common sense . been a big man, don't make you a good security guy. very disappointed read more

atmosphere was great, guests were very friendly to one another, music was good. the crowd here is predominantly male but women aren't discouraged against coming. i didn't get a drink here so im unsure of the pricing or strength of them. i however did have an extremely upsetting interaction with a security officer. i work security myself and have found that you CAN be nice and also have that job. the tall white male in a button up, cowboy hat and mustache was bothered at where i was standing to make sure my intoxicated friend made it out of the bathroom safely. he approached me so closely and aggressively i could smell what he had for breakfast on his breath. he was in my face screaming and yelling about moving or id be kicked out, all i did was ask that he didn't yell at me and be nicer. he kept pushing me and another guard in a cowboy hat and vest came up and joined in on screaming at me. i got out of the area he had just yelled at me for and moved closer to the bathroom, when he circled around and started yelling again. it was actually so bad a group of girls had to grab me and hold me in the bathroom doorway to get away from him. i'm not from dallas, i had never been to this bar before, i don't go out like this, i just think the guards maybe need to have some de-escalation training. i don't see how talking to anyone the way i was solves anything, it was hostile for absolutely no reason. i understand working around drunk/fked up people can be frustrating and it can get to the point where that kind of behavior is necessary, this was not that kind of situation. read more

Had been looking forward to this place for my birthday for a whole week as I was coming from another state with my best friend . Her and I were having a blast first couple of hours bartenders , drag queens, and music was on point . That is UNTIL JOE arrived and would become our new bartender. From the second he got there his whole vibe was negative in an off putting way. I had been paying the same amount for 1 corona and mixed drink the whole night and once he took my order he wanted to charge me over $20. I told him I wasn't going to be paying that much and he proceeded to tell me "well then you shouldn't be here." Ripped the ticket in my face and told the security to "Get them out of here" while security aggressively grabbed me and my friend mind you us being females in our mid 20s and waaay smaller than them I asked the African American bouncer "why are you pushing us out ?" and he responded "idk but you Fucked up with joe so you gotta go" I tried to explain to him what happened and he pushed me even harder and once I was almost out the front door he Then MACED my friend and I and slammed the door shut in our face. If anyone wants to have a great time i advise you PLEASE take your money to Mr. Misster you won't regret it. Overall, Round-Up is a lot of fun. A nice, Texas themed gay bar in the heart of the Cedar Springs strip. First off, compared to just about anything else in Cedar Springs, the place is huge! I counted 7 bars between inside and outside. So there's never much of a wait to get a drink (although I've never seen all 7 open at once). They have a big dance floor in the middle, a ground level patio out back and a rooftop patio which is great for aviation geeks like me to watch planes taking off from Love Field. The staff is always pretty cool. They pour a good drink and are no more or less expensive than anywhere else on the strip. It's worth keeping an eye on their events, too. They're also the starting point for the monthly Cedar Springs wine walk, which is a blast. Definitely a staple of this neighborhood. read more

Always love going here with my friends. Such a good vibe but giving 3 stars instead of 5 because of a rude bartender. Before that, we were in the middle of the computers between him and another bartender and according to him it was out of his way to take an order from anyone in the middle so you were forced to squeeze in front of his computer cause I guess taking 2 steps over to hear someone's order was too much to ask.
