We had an amazing experience with Speedy Gonzalez for our bathroom remodel! From start to finish,…read morethe team was professional, punctual, and incredibly detail-oriented. They took the time to listen to what we wanted and offered helpful suggestions that really elevated the final design. The quality of the work is outstanding -- the tile installation is flawless, the drywall and flooring look perfect, and everything was completed on schedule. They kept the workspace clean each day and communicated clearly throughout the entire process, which gave us total peace of mind. Our bathroom looks absolutely beautiful and feels like a brand-new space. We couldn't be happier with the results and would highly recommend Speedy Gonzalez to anyone looking for reliable, high-quality remodeling work. We will definitely be using them again for future projects!

They were able to replace the tile and vanity within the amount of time we requested (3 days). His estimate was very reasonable. During the process, Frank was very communicative. But the only difficulty I would say was communicating with his team, if Frank wasn't present, because of my broken Spanish. But Frank was able to resolve any issues and concerns that we had. The work that they did was great! Our bathroom is beautiful!

After reviewing the scope of the project, it was estimated that it would take a week and a half to complete. Not only did it take over a month to eventually complete, the days that the team would work were unpredictable. On several occasions, as the team would leave for the day, they would tell us they will be back tomorrow, and then not show up. Or, they wouldn't be able to tell us when they would come next, and would surprise us a few days later. They ended up needing to complete this project after I had delivered my baby (original timeline would've been completed weeks prior to my due date). Additionally, we noticed there were a few design decisions that were made without consulting us, like the drywall of the shower/re-installation of the water gauge (it's now not flush with the wall and very loose) and the selection of tile at the base of the shower that doesn't match the floor. He had offered to come fix the water gauge, but after coming to look at the issue, he has not gotten back to us in 5 weeks. I had high hopes for this project, and while it still looks nice, the lack of communication made it really difficult to want to recommend Peter or use his team again for future projects.

Our family has been very pleased with the high quality of their work and attention to detail. The finishes have been very pleasing and we get compliments on the work all the time. His pricing is competitive and the craftsman who do the work are easy to get along with during long major projects. Ilan's team is the only one we will use for future remodels and I highly recommend him and his company.

I was starting with a smaller job first involving multiple carpentry related items. It's a good way to assess whether I'd use the contractor again for the more complex kitchen and bath. My HOA must approve any contractor before work commences and requires that they be licensed in Chicago, Insured, and bonded. Chicago Partners claims to be so on their website and confirmed that to me in person. IIan was very charming, knowledgeable, and initially quite responsive. His quote was detailed and helpfully assigned a dollar amount per task, as I'd requested. Unfortunately, as another reviewer noted, the proposal included language that would waive and indemnify Chicago Construction for any damage, harm, or injuries etc. that Chicago Construction might cause in the course of their work. I spoke to IIan about this and he said he was a lawyer and wrote it himself. I'm certain he did. I managed a contracts office doing over $300 million in business each year - none of my staff would ever approve a waiver that puts 100% of the risk on the client for harm that a contractor might cause. I asked IIan what was the point of requiring a contractor be bonded and insured was if I was going to waive their responsibility anyway? I told him my association wouldn't approve such a waiver. I asked him to strike the language and also to reduce the tasks in the quote. Unfortunately, I never heard back from him. This was in July. I used another contractor to complete the project and am now taking bids for the bathroom. I will not seek a bid from this company.
