No one puts their hands or feet on the back of your chair. Wide aisle so other customers can pass by without you having to lower the footrest. Two drink holders per chair. So if you want any free refills, you're forced to buy a bucket, I guess large bags don't count anymore. I've never been to a theater that forces you to get a collector's cup that I don't even want. The guy behind the counter said it's been like that since COVID. Oh, so COVID told you to force people to buy the movie bucket, and if that's the case, you only get one refill. Definitely big scammers. Also, the theater was gross; it smelled like garbage, looked like they clean it once a day. The speakers in theater 7 sounded like they needed to be replaced. I won't be going there ever again. If you want a great theater with great customer service, go to Movieplex in Johnstown, $10 tickets. This is a great, affordable option for movies. The staff is friendly, the snack prices are decent, and so are the ticket prices. Acceptable soon-to-be-dead-mall movie theater with only six screens but decent reasonably modern stadium seating and projection. Refillable tub of popcorn is $10.25 compared to $6.25 at the Bow Tie in downtown Schenectady, matinee ticket prices are $6.50 which is only a slight bargain compared to the chains and not at all compared to Bow Tie, and the restrooms are more than a tad inconvenient, tucked in the lobby (although not the worst I've seen by any means). Throw in a weird mall location (far from the food court, by a cavernous empty fountain) and it's not really a destination movie location but one I'm willing to endure if a convenient showtime pops up. read more

This is a very good theatre in the capital region. I went to see Mister Rogers Won't You Be My Neighbor documentary film today and my experience was very good. It's much cleaner than the regal cinemas I go to and it's also much cheaper for a movie ticket as well. Regal you have to pay about $13 a ticket while Rotterdam before 6pm you can pay $6.50 a ticket. Their concession is also cheaper as well. I do remember this theater used to be a Loews Theaters back in the early 2000s. This theater is worth a drive in my opinion and the staff are very friendly. A few of their rooms has reclined seats that are used at AMC theatres and the seats felt very comfy. I can't wait to return very soon!! read more

This place is the best!! Cheaper than other local movie theaters and they reclining leather chairs.

The price is great! $5 before Noon, $6.50 Noon - 5, $9.50 after 5. The only issue I had was screen one (showing Aladdin)the projector wasn't projecting color or brightness well. I think their bulb broke or something so the movie was dim, and half way through the movie the screen shrunk. Also, the right side of the screen was damaged. I saw Avengers on screen 2 a few weeks ago and didn't have an issue. Well except for the one speaker that sounded blown out but it didn't bother the movie. The theater itself hasn't updated since it was a Lowe's from the 80's. The only update are the seats and leg room. read more

Although they used to be an AMC, this theater is now independently owned. Not that you'd know it, comparing it to other indie cinemas in the area. They have digital theaters, which means high quality picture and sound. They also have some weird motion theater thing that I'm going to have to check out at some point. All I know is that the seats move and vibrate along with the movie, but I didn't see one of those movies (yet). I went with a group and our theater was mostly empty. The prices were comparable to any other theater in the area, which was expected. I feel like their snack bar prices were slightly lower than the chain theaters tend to be and they offer real butter on their popcorn. Sure, the candy, etc. was overpriced, but tell me what theater actually sells candy for the same price you'd pay in a supermarket. Friendly staff, and their have their own movie rewards card. If I lived in Schenectady County, this would be my go-to theater. I like it even better than the Colonie Center theater, which, until my experience here, had been at the top of my list. I will certainly be back, whenever my schedule allows me to go that far for a movie. read more

Great clean location with $5 Tuesdays can't beat it anywhere in the capital region. Seats are comfy staff was fantastic and friendly. Only down fall was it was extremely cold in there. So could not take off the jacket and really lay back. Bummer. Did I mention how comfortable the seats were. For a family for 4 it cost us less the $30. With $1 popcorn.
