I love this place it has so many diverse things to buy or look at I would definitely recommend this place

Go in, pick a box, walk out and open it really fast! You don't always know what's going to be in it, but that's part of the fun. Sounds cheesy, but it's always a surprise seeing what little creature you're going to bring home. read more

Rotofugi is a designer toy collectors paradise. Whether you are looking for vinyl toys, circus punks, plush, or prints, Rotofugi is the place to quench your thirst for beautiful collectible art. I stopped into Rotofugi knowing they had specialty toys and was currently looking for "Pusheen" merchandise. They didn't have a lot when I went in, but the gentleman working there offered to take my name and number and contact me when the latest shipment came in. Not only did they call me back as soon as the order came in, when I went in, both of the young women working behind the counter were friendly and engaging. Rotofugi does have some amazing products and while the prices can be a little steep, I highly recommend it read more

The have a gallery show going on today and a new one on October 10th, 2008. This stuff is just so enjoyable. I am not a collector, but i just love this kind of expressive modern art. Take the time to see these toys-as-art and you will find something that speaks to you. read more

I've never met a person or piece of vinyl here that I didn't want to stuff in my bag and run away with immediately. Some of the coolest toys in Chicago. read more

Cool shop. Lots to see and even though I am not a comic book guy I almost bought like 10 things. A lot of people would, but I already have so much stuff. Worth popping in just for 20 minutes of "window shopping". They also have a bathroom which is handy. I would also recommend visiting Beermiscuous just up the block while in the area. read more

i haven't been able to visit their physical store being that i'm in southern california and they are in chicago...lol but i would love to! if i'm ever in the area, i'll be sure to stop, no doubt. if i had some extra cash to throw around, i'd book a trip to chicago to specifically check out this store. this is how much roto rocks! for about 2 years, i've checked out their shows online and been able to purchase over the internet or over the phone. either way, customer service is always top notch. if i have a question, someone competent (rare in other shops of their same genre these days) will have an answer or get me an answer. answers via email are quick too. their online selection is great. i especially love that i don't have to pay california state tax AND they don't sucker me for pricey shipping. they also do a streamline version of their site during online releases. its fantastic. thank you for being pro-active!!! YAY ROTOFUGI!!!!! big big thanks, rain (from vinylrequiem/kr/skullbrain) read more

Very unique art store & toy store. I'm honestly not into many things they have, but I was extremely intrigued by some random artwork they had there. If it was in my budget I would have sprang for one. Maybe next time. read more

I love this store. It is a grown ups toy store and God love the owners for taking that on. I am impressed with their knowledge and their enthusiasm for the crafters/artists that create the stuff they sell. There is an event space at the back of the store that hosts art openings and other things. It is a great set up and I hope they have more events there. I discovered their Facebook page and the "Boss Lady" does weekly videos where she opens old stock and collectable items that have been packed away. What a great idea and if you really want something, they well sell it to you. read more

Rotofugi is a toy collectors dream store! If you like weird and wacky toys from all over the world, GO! I have a bunch of them sitting on my desk at work and they put a big smile on my face every time I look at them. I hope this store never goes out of business, it's a truly unique "toy boutique". don't miss this one...go...today! read more

love love love love love LOVE rotofugi! i fall somewhere between a collector and a person that likes to just peruse and grab a few favorites every visit. There is always a new line or toy or poster or magazine, even if you go often. I love the down-to-earth attitude - geeky vinyl toy collectors can sometimes speak in the vinyl tongue, either assuming you know about all of the series that have been released for a certain toy or that you know every artist by first and last name and body of work. At rotofugi you can always feel free to ask questions and get really enthusiastic answers, without feeling trampled on. i loved to go here for gifts - there is always something this is appropriate for a particular person's obsession. i love the fatcaps - little figures with a graff twist, that come in a bag (in a secret box) that smells like paint on the inside. latest favorite are the "things that hurt" keychains - grenades, hearts, brass knuckles, cute! i've lived in other cities and frequented other similar businesses - Rotofugi seems to have the most stuff in one space. and an art gallery next door! the biggest con is how broke i am every time i leave. read more

I went in looking for the new Zoomies and there they were, no hunting around or anything. I knew there was no way I was going to be able to go into here and only get a couple Zoomies. I had a arm full by the time I made it around the store.. good thing it wasn't bigger. The size of Rotofugi did surprise me, pictured it larger in my mind. Great store and I'll be going back for sure, no need to order online from KidRobot anymore. read more

the cutest place to just browse and to buy. they have designer figures (or toys) that are sooooo cute they make you want to puke rainbows. the employees there are cheerful and a pleasant to be around which makes the shopping experience that much more fun. the price ranges are completely affordable!! don't have too much cash? there are tons o' things that are under $20!!! i'm so glad we have something like this in chicago. =D read more

I love some vinyl toys and always will stop by to get a treat when I'm in the neighborhood.

Cute addition to the Ukranian Village area. Lots of designer toys on stark white shelves line the walls in this tiny space. Rotofugi is a great browsing store to go to for a small gift as prices are reasonable. Owner is extremely nice. I spent under $15.00 with tax for two toys and I am sure that I will be back again. read more

I traveled all the way from Orange County Ca to visit Chicago and part of my visit included a walk from Navy Pier to Rotofugi, which is not a short walk, but it was way worth it and the stock they carry is huge. I am used to the small shops over here. Love the staff and crowd that hangs around. read more

Everyone that works at Rotofugi is extremely nice. They have everything!!! If you are looking for Muni or Kidrobot toys they have them... the only problem with this store is you will want to buy everything there. read more

This place is really fun. It sort of reminds me of Giant Robot, but with lots more locally made one-of -a-kind stuff. I'm glad a store like this exists. read more

I wanted to buy some cool toys and the toys you can buy here are prohibitively expensive. This appears to be a store run by wealthy art-school kids. I was so sad. If you are a wealthy art school kid you will LOVE it though, it does have a lot of arty toys and art on display. Be sure to bring a full wallet, though. read more

The place to be if you're a vinyl toy collector. Great products. Great people. Fair on price. Laid back atmosphere. The gallery shows are cool. Love them all. Will never spend a dollar anywhere else for my toys. read more

Really cool artwork and lots of plastic figurines from various TV shows, movies, animes, etc. There are also a bunch of assorted cute items like vegetable-shaped erasers and figurines of cats hiding inside tissue boxes. I think the best way to describe most of their products is adorable. I ended up purchasing a bunch of prints and some small trinkets--things I don't usually buy. Would definitely go back here read more

One of the best art doll store I've seen. They have a huge selection of Kozik dolls and then you go to the corner and see prints from legends like tim biskut or baseman. The display behind the counter is often changing and the people who work there seem content like they've reached nirvana surrounded by toys 24/7. They also support local artists. read more

I live around the corner from this store and I love to stop in ever chance I get because it is always changing. It is so fun to go in to an adults toy store and this time I mean real TOYS!! Love it!! read more

A really fun toy store! I have never seen many of the items that were available here. The art and figurines are unique and there is so much to look at! read more

Honestly CANNOT say enough good things about Rotofugi. I haven't been to the shop, but their online customer service is seriously top-notch. Every time I email them with questions, they're not only friendly but EXTREMELY helpful and crazy fast with replies (they always reply within a few hours which is something i've never experienced from any other businesses). They answer everything in detail and truly put an effort to be helpful whether or not they have the product in stock. I've always been super impressed by their customer service. Other designer toy stores need to learn from them *cough*3Dretro*cough* (warning- don't buy from them, i''ve experienced the worst non-existent customer service from them). Roto's prices are always fair and reasonable and they dont jack up prices for pieces are harder to find elsewhere. Flat rate shipping is cheaper than most toy stores and they even use PRIORITY 2 DAYS shipping!! From what I've experienced, not many stores are willing to use priority 2 days...I usually always have to wait at least a week for orders. I received my package and it was very carefully packed, even filled with packing peanuts even though my toys weren't that fragile. And here's the thing that blew my mind- they wrapped every boxed toy individually in paper (taped up and everything like a present) so it was pretty freakin awesome being able to unwrap every item as if I were unwrapping presents!!!! (it was like christmas in January! and I don't even get to unwrap presents on xmas at this age...) If possible I would've given roto 10 stars. Will definitely be buying all my toys here from now on :) so worth it! Hope they stay in the toy scene/business for a loong looooong time! read more

Rotofugi Is mad dope! another place where I am fond of the architecture. It's a loft style shop with high ceilings. Nice IKEA shelves and the display of the toy figures are well organized . The owner Kirby is real cool, I've been going to Rotofugi ever since 2005 when they were on Chicago Ave. read more

Funky, hip and imaginative. It's an amazing electic mix of fun items. The staff is generally nice and helpful and out 1 year old loves the fun stuffed uglydolls (but they scare the heck out of her Grandmother!). The prices are a little higher considering it's not a big-box store carrying a lot of hard-to-find items. They are all good quality and worth the trip down to Chicago Avenue. Skip Target and Baby's R Us and check this out for a kid's (or an adult kid's) birthday present. read more

One of the best places around to buy your cool toys and new art from local artists. Often they host galleries and they're extremely fun.

The best place for toys. The people there are super friendly and knowledgeable. The Gallery always features great artists and the store carries great toys featuring local artists. read more

A fun place to visit especially if you are a new comer to the vinyl figure scene. The store/gallery is beautiful and well maintained. The staff are very polite and leave neat little notes informing of any help they can offer. The gallery and items change often, which is one of my favorite reasons to visit frequently. I recently found out they host classes and events from time to time which makes it all the more reason to check out this unique store. read more

Love this place! The new location is way better. I always find myself buying unnecessary things but they are always well worth it. I first discovered this place when I was looking for a gift for my then boyfriend. I bought a Fluffy Bad Bad and a Wee Ninja. Great place to go to if you're gift shopping or if you like collecting toys like I do. read more

i am crazy about rotofugi, the adorable, beautiful toys, and the awesome people who work there. to be more specific, these are the kind of people who will sit around making the dolls dance with each other when it gets slow. if you have a problem with that, you hate happiness. the gallery is even more amazing than the toy store itself. openings are always warm and unintimidating with the requisite free snacks, wine, etc. i'm bad at making aesthetic generalizations, but all the art i've seen here has been incredible/excited me more than many other local galleries. many of the artists definitely have a playful quality to their work/explicitly "play" with images one might typically categorize as adorable/innocent. beyond that, the only thing the artists seem to have in common is that they all rule. read more

This place is Aces! The staff is always keen and the toys are always rad. nuff said.

Rotofugi was one of the main reasons for visiting Chicago and this store did not disappoint. The store is large, open and any toy collector's dream. We shopped around with baskets and filled each of ours up with blind boxes from various designers, some bigger vinyl characters and got some t-shirts. The two guys behind the counter were super nice and told us to check out the gallery when we have time. The gallery is simple but impressive as well. Great store, great employees and they carry an amazing variety of toys. read more

It's a motherload of randomness in here. I've visited a few times now, and the art on display is always creative, often graphic-art-cartoonish, and occasionally disturbing. The toys they have shelved run the gamut of cute to crazy: zombies, breakdancers, Simpsons figures, samurais. You'll easily spend at least 20 minutes checking everything out and it's tough avoiding an impulse buy. It's a good spot to buy a gift for a tchotchke collector. read more

A must stop if you're in the city! Don't forget to visit the gallery next door.

I'm not a collector of toys. Yet I keep finding reasons to go to Rotofugi and buy things. From mini ninjas to cool t-shirts that say "I like monsters" this place is pretty sweet. The staff is very nice and down to earth - they have no problem answering questions or just shooting the breeze with you. So go on by to a great local business and enjoy the strange things you will find on their shelves, like smorkin' bacon. Endless entertainment! read more

I LOVED the store and the staff was the best. I can't WAIT for DVA Gallery to start their art collaborations with Rotofugi!!!

I've never been to the physical store but I've ordered stuff from their website and the customer service is amazing! When they had trouble with my address, I always talked to real people. You'll never get stuck with an automated e-mail. When I finally got the package it was very well wrapped and I had a handwritten message with a smiley face on my invoice. It's the personal touches that make Rotofugi a cut above the rest. read more
