I love this store! If you like collecting figurines and blind box characters you will like this store. I came here for the first time last summer when visiting Chicago and it was on the list of places to go for my current visit. Staff is friendly and helpful. This store is very unique compared to other stores that sell blind boxes. Here you can purchase a blind box, then open it while at the store and if you do not want what you got then you can exchange with the display. I love this! If you are in the area definitely stop by this place.

What a fun experience! They had the rainy days Sonny angel blind boxes which is why I came. Price is reasonable and they always have different stock every time. A blind box heaven! Service was great as well!

Besides the occasional Smiski, I'm not someone that's super into mystery boxes, but Rotofugi was such a fun experience! I'm definitely a maximalist, so a store like this can be dangerous and I love that. From their collectibles to offering local art there is so much to enjoy. Got introduced to the ShinWoo Ghost Bear series (so cute) and haven't seen them since, so I'll have to make another visit eventually. Had a great time chatting with staff as well. Prices vary depending on what you're looking for which is reasonable.

Rotofugi is a designer toy store but is also discribed as an art gallery. I wasn't really sure what made it an art gallery until I went inside. Honestly, the items might as well be art pieces. I bought a super cute bag for about $80 and it was honestly worth every penny. I can see myself coming back for some cute little knick knacks and I want another bag but next time I'm going for the fanny pack. The employees were awesome and all covid measures were taken. Even though it is a toy store, I would recommend any kid at heart adult to come here as well because some items are more expensive and definitely more styled towards an older person who has eyes for cute/kawaii items some would say are for kids. If I could buy out the store, I would. Everything was just so absolutely adorable that I almost burst of joy.

Amazing store and art gallery! I just happened to be in the area and the store caught my eye so I dragged all my friends in. And wow I'm so glad I did! It's filled to the brim with interesting, quirky, meticulously detailed art and toys. The line between art and toy is definitely blurry. I could spend HOURS in here, honestly it was way better than a lot of actual "art" museums/experiences. I must warn you if you have an addiction to blind boxes (like me) this place is DANGEROUS bc of the selection! Proceed with caution haha. I love their blind box exchange policy which means you can open any blind box you purchase (while you're still in the store) and trade it with one of the display toys if you don't like what you got. So fun!!

I can't help it, I love getting excited spotting happy plushes !

This is another of those what I call " Holy Grail " stores ! Just an amazing store that sells so many blindboxes and limited editions. Everywhere you look is another surprising delight. The staff is amazing and knowledgeable in answering questions. They also have art exhibitions too. One of my favorite stops when I was in Chicago. As I get time I will add more pics.

Don't get me wrong - I am not huge into collectibles by any means, but I do love a good blind box from time to time, and Rotofugi always delivers. The selection is cool and the staff is friendly. In terms of price, it is a bit expensive (say, $10-$20 on average per blind box), but I understand and appreciate it for what it is. Plus, I love that they spotlight different visual artists from Chicago.

So cute, love gachapon and it was so fun to see all the variety! Love the in store exchange policy and it was just a great experience overall.

I had been here years ago and when I was planning a field trip with 14 middle schoolers from Detroit I knew we had to stop here. The employees were so friendly and welcoming! They took group photos and answered so many questions. Highly recommend!

This place has got some of the weirdest toys, but fun to look around. I did find what I think are Corgi figures. I bought the last two they had. Young lady up front was very friendly. Very colorful store and unique.

Oddly lovely selection of toys and collectibles that will transport you to Japan or inside a video game. Rotating gallery of art as well. Makes a great stop to browse and reminisce

Ace is the perfect spot to pick up a trend. If you aren't sure how long that piece will be in style, surely you can drop $10 on a bold statement necklace and not have buyer's remorse. There was also a lot of big, sparkly stuff which is perfect for prom, homecoming, weddings, or wannabe ballers. Not to fret, there is a huge selection of post earrings from simple CZ studs to hearts, stars, and Eiffel Towers. I thought I would easily spend $30 or more here, but I walked out with a $4 silvertone necklace with sparkly pyramids. It's simple, but sort of trendy, so the price can't be beat. I can't speak for the quality, as I have only worn it once, but it is still shining and in one piece. It held up to my friend's baby pulling lightly on it. Even if the necklace "turns" and the metal doesn't stay shiny, I'm not going to be entirely surprised or disappointed. It was four measly dollars. Some of the items were goofy like the "BLACK GIRLS ARE HOT" earrings that each were bigger than the palm of my hand, as well as the bulky imitation Hello Kitty necklaces. Some of the necklace come on snake chains, and if you haven't experienced a snake chain with long hair - watch out, they pull your hair out! So you might want to switch the chains if you buy a necklace here. Some of the aisles on one end of the store, stocked with handbags and scarves, were rather bare and made the place look junky and picked over. Ace is CASH ONLY. There is a credit card minimum, but I believe it is $30. It is easy to reach $30, but bring cash just in case.

They're cute, I was stoked they had my size (w 11), and I remember the price was reasonable. I stopped in today looking for a Chinese style baby outfit. Weird request I guess. I didn't realize 90% of their inventory is traditional silk Chinese dress/outfits for kids (maybe 2 y/o) to adult. The woman working there stopped what she was doing, greeted me, and answered my question. She wasn't excessively friendly, but the friendliest shop employee I've encountered in Chinatown, ever, so I have to mention it! I'm sure I'll be back in a few years when I'm shopping for traditional dress for a larger child.

We were shocked, confused, and honestly embarrassed, in public for something we didn't do. They didn't ask politely or explain anything. They just assumed. No proof. No apology. nothing We cooperated and showed them we had nothing, and instead of admitting their mistake, they gave us attitude and let us go like we were guilty. This kind of treatment is completely unacceptable, especially when you treat young customers like criminals just because we're teens or don't "look" like your usual shoppers. We came to shop, not to be profiled or harassed. I will not be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this store to anyone who values basic respect.
