I sent photos of my issues to Rick the manager. (My house is old from the 1930s and very tricky). Rick sent Daniel, a highly experienced pro plumber. I showed Daniel what needed to be done. New faucet for the kitchen and I also needed a new master valve for the water coming in to the house along with replacing some additional old valves in the basement. Daniel did an amazing job and even corrected the grounding for the wiring around the pipes. Once everything was done, he made sure there were NO leaks and that all components were working properly. At roughly $15-$20 per gallon retail, the materials were a small fraction of what I was charged. They charged me $500+ tax for adding 2 gallons of antifreeze. I was told the service was $250 and the plumber could waive the service call for me. I was also told the company "could have charged $700-$800," along with repeated statements like "if your pipes burst, it could cost thousands to fix." I understand the risks of winter plumbing, but that kind of messaging felt more like pressure than professional guidance. The invoice itself was also concerning. It listed "winterization" across multiple areas, but in practical terms the service amounted to pouring antifreeze. When I asked for a straightforward explanation of the pricing, the plumber became dismissive and said the company should block my account. He also referred to me as a "one time customer," which made it clear they were not interested in transparency or a long term relationship, only collecting the payment. For context, last year I paid under $300 for a similar inspection and a legitimate winterization, including using an air compressor to blow water out of the lines. That step was not done this time, even when I suggested it. I'm not someone who expects free service. I'm willing to pay a fair rate, especially in winter. Replace the first floor baseboard with high output baseboard. Peter measured the job up and returned with Christian another day to complete the work. I admit I was impressed with the concern that was paid to how each peice was installed. A level and tape measure was used on each peice of baseboard to insure that when completed the entire run was the same height and on the same plain. Each cover was trimmed if needed so it fit together properly. When they were done they cleaned up after themselves and even helped me put my things back, which they didn't have to do. I could say I'm happy with the work they did and leave it there. The truth is I'm really impressed with the work did, it came out more beautiful than I hoped. They showed more attention to detail than they had to, and the price was very competitive. Its been 7 years and Pete is still doing really prideful work. I was only told "pay the service fee" The person didn't know how to communicate and only say "pay the service fee" I tried to call and schedule the repairs but they don't awnser or return phone call.
