I was excited to FINALLY pop my Rôti cherry! I walked in at 7:30 on a Friday night, though, and my enthusiasm quickly dwindled: things did NOT look promising speed-wise or quality-wise. There were three workers, two of whom were doing lots of multitasking in the way of cooking food (chicken on the grill, some dessert/chips). I got Guy #3, who looked bored as f#ck and not in any hurry. I was second in line and my order was taken after nearly 10 minutes. Not exaggerating. I ordered: - side of falafel - Steak* Laffa Wrap w/garlic sauce, olives, sautéed onions, couscous, and veggies. * steak = $1.50 upcharge Total = $12 My second mistake (the first = sticking around) was not checking out the goods before ordering! The steak and falafel were sparse and looked old.. Guy #3 DID nicely put some fresh falafel into the fryer when I asked him about it. I noticed that, while he was assembling my wrap, there were lots of charred steak flakes at the bottom of the container. I think he noticed, too, because he stopped using the scoop and chose the rest with his (gloved) hands. Verdict: Falafel: 2/5 The good: Nice and crispy on the outside. Who doesn't love hot fresh falafel?! The bad: Barely a trace of spice/heat. And WHAT is the weird consistency they've got going on?! The insides are so wet and mushy! I LOVE falafel and wasn't feelin' this AT ALL. Steak Wrap: 3/5 The good: Some good crunch with the veggies, good texture in the couscous (i.e. not mushy) and the garlic sauce was good. The bad: Dry, charred steak, and NOT in a good way. The burnt taste lingered in my mouth. It was also super salty. I paid extra for this?! Yuck. I don't know if the poor quality is entirely due to the fact I came after the dinner rush, but I am NOT a fan at this point. I plan to try again during a more peak lunch-or-dinner time and will update accordingly. read more

Roti - LOVE the Lynyrd Skynyrd reference! - Mediterranean Near Me - Schaumburg, Illinois

Great experience on the new menu! Ordered on their website and the delivered accurate and on time. Delicious weeknight dinner!

Schaumburg has a new kid on the block to add to the under $10 restaurant chains, Roti. It's a Mediterranean chain that is quickly taking over the Chicagoland area. It's the next best thing for food packed with flavor without the added calories. Roti is the perfect example that you can eat fast food that's fresh and healthy and delicious. Roti is unique since it draws flavors and popular dishes from all over the Mediterranean like kabobs, hummus, and falafel but it's presented in Chipotle's easy to order format. Not familiar with Mediterranean cuisine? Think spices like turmeric, cumin, and coriander and ingredients like dill, olives, feta, and cous cous. The food is flavorful and healthier since it uses herbs, spices, and vinegars rather than butter and fat. I read the other reviews and it sounds like some people had a bad experience when they first opened but I just went on Sunday and service was fine - the chicken was just a little dry and overcooked. Other than that, the food was great and I'll definitely be back. Pro tip: order the salad since it's the same price as the plate but without the limitations on sides. You can literally order each one of the sides (even add rice) and all of the toppings for no additional cost. For some reason, the plate only allows you to choose three sides but there's no limit for the salad even though it costs the same. Yeah, I know... you're welcome. read more

I got a salmon rice plate and added falafel. It ended up to be pricey compared to Bibibop ($15 vs $8). However, it was plenty of food and I had leftovers. The food was tasty and I love how you can get all the toppings and sauces you want. I like how their falafel are moist, whereas it can be dry at other places. There was hardly any salmon, though. I also ended up getting a stomach ache, but that could be due to all the variety of ingredients and sauces. All in all, tasty and good quantity. 3.5 stars. read more

This is a good place for fast Middle Eastern food in the northwest suburbs. It's not the best, but I do go quite a bit because there isn't much of a selection of ME food out here. It's like a Chipotle for ME food. This concept seems to be popular. I got a rice plate with the chicken kabob. There's a selection of salads and sauces, and they do make fresh pita for you, which is really nice. At the same time, the concept isn't best because the shawarma isn't right off the spit. It's in a container, drying out and waiting to get served. Although, I don't know what Roti is (it's not an Arabic word but heard it's Indian) it is a very Americanized Middle Eastern dining experience. They do try their best, and it's delicious, but they haven't mastered beef shawarma and falafel. For Schaumburg, this place is great. They serve organic or all natural ingredients in their food and they try to promote how healthy they are. You don't feel like you ate a cow and it's mom when you're done, and you certainly won't regret anything you eat because it's not a gut bomb. Great lunch joint. You can be in and out in an hour. Food is always warm and delicious. Their hummus is tasty (although, once you start getting into flavored hummus, I get a little aggravated). Great selection of salads to go with your food. read more

Really not impressed with the food here and I would compare the quality to cafeteria food. I had high expectations because the pictures on yelp looked delicious and many of my yelp friends have reviewed this place. Upon looking at their reviews, it looks like they were reviewed almost 2 years ago.. perhaps the food quality has just gone downhill from then Like everyone said, the food is ordered "chipotle-style". The only thing I really liked was their pita bread. The chicken was ok and the rice was terrible. I felt the portions were pretty large and i was extremely full afterwards but not satisfied with the taste. I missed my Pita Inn as I sat there eating it. read more

EDIT: after this review, ROTI reached out to me and offered to makeup for my bad experience with them. Once again, it was only time there. I appreciate that immensely- great management! I will be honest, I was not impressed with Roti Modern Mediterranean. I am writing this review based off of my lunch order today and I have never been here before. I ordered the falafel sandwich on the house-baked whole wheat pita and the falafel was very cold and dry- the chickpea's were not very broken down. The ratio of the sides in my pita pocket was very odd and it was almost as if I was eating a dry salad. I would maybe consider trying another item off of the menu, but I would not recommend their falafel to anyone if you are very picky about your falafel like I am. The pro's: the garlic sauce and fresh pita was AMAZING! I loved the way this pita was cooked and how it was whole wheat instead of regular white. The price point was also very affordable. A-OK, but I will continue to give my 5-star rating to Naf-Naf for freshness and taste. read more

Roti - Thank you RōTeam for reaching out to me and offering to make my experience a better one. I will be back. - Mediterranean Near Me - Schaumburg, Illinois

The food isn't too bad over here. Being in the restaurant industry for so long there are some things you don't do in front of customers. The services here are atrocious you, order a steak rice bowl and they basically made everything except for the steak so when I pointed this out they pulled out the steak from another bowl with their hands. Granted they were wearing gloves but I don't want my food picked up by hands. My gripe my be minor but poor service in this industry gets you closed. My advice to management, don't be out of food during peak lunch hours. Train your personnel well and not sure if my server was still learning, high or hungover as we had to keep repeating our order. Please read my review on Cosi' it's on the same track. Sorry I will not pay that much for average food little quantity and inept service. Perhaps I will try NafNaf or Benjyehuda next time. read more

Picked up lunch here the other day, and it was easy and efficient! They even gave me an extra pita, which made my day. This is my go to restaurant for quick and easy lunch. read more

Food is great, slightly pricey. Have had almost all items on menu which all are very healthy and tasty.

I moved across the country earlier this year - out of Roti territory, unfortunately - and have been dreaming of my rice plate since the day I left. Roti was my last meal before my moved, and you bet it was the first place I went when I landed at O'Hare. The best part? It was every bit as good as I remembered it. I honestly didn't doubt it, but that would have been soul-crushing to wait months and months only to have something mediocre. My tastebuds dream accurately! And Roti is consistently delicious. Consistency, when eating out, is priceless. Roti delivers on that with flying colors. I ended up having it twice my first day home and daily thereafter, desperate to get my fill before I'm on a flight back - and you can bet I'll be boarding the plane with a rice plate in-hand! read more

Absolutely loved the variety of vegan options and all their ingredients are clearly labeled, making it so easy on making a choice for myself. The veggies were fresh, literally everything was fresh and very tasty. I got the veggie rice plate, the couscous was perfect .. as well as the rice. I was so impressed I'll definitely be ordering from them again and try another vegan option that they offer. Also tried their hummus & it was great. Has a nice spice to it and I have to mention their pickled onions, I could seriously eat that alone with pita chips, it's amazing. read more

Every time I drive by Roti, I've been dying to try them out. I finally did and it's delicious. It's similar to Chipotle where you tell them what you want. I do think they should have things labeled so the customers don't have to keep asking what each thing is. I also figured out that the chicken roti is the dark meat and chicken kabob is the white meat. I had the chicken kabob rice plate, very yummy. The grilled vegetables were delicious along with the pita. I can't wait to go back! read more

Its 2019 and theyre still fresh/consistent. Yesss I know its basically a Mediterranean chipotle and yet I still feel like theyre underrated. This place is decent for fast food Mediterranean. I have been to a lot of places and for some reason I just didn't like the food or choices that much. The good: It felt a lot like Chipotle and that is always a good thing. The service was speedy and I went at night so since they had no falafals they manager gave me a free dessert and drink. The bad: Eh, felt the chicken we too dry. Even late at night you have to keep the food ready to be served right? The choices for sides were items that I feel are more garnishments than side items. I would never order onions and and call that a side items. Overall the food was good but not great. Pricing was good. Nothing for me to say=, I want to go here when I am looking for something, read more

My new favorite lunch obsession! Basically a Mediterranean chipotle. Love that they have vegetarian and vegan options and everything is clearly labeled. They're also super fast! read more

Roti - Falafel pita with couscous, kale salad, hummus, and tahini sauce - Mediterranean Near Me - Schaumburg, Illinois

I currently have an unhealthy obsession with this place and think about their food all the time. I grew up on falafel, including homemade, and this place has the best I've ever had. They were even good cold! Can you believe that? The bowls are easily enough for 2 meals, so I feel like the price is more than fair because of that. But go with a bowl (rice or salad), not a wrap or pita. Also, do yourself a favor and add some pita chips for your hummus. My 3 year old and dad ate a bag each. I will admit I was not a huge fan of the kale and chickpea salad, red cabbage, or pickled onions. However, my 8 year old could have eaten the onions for days, and liked the red cabbage and chickpeas as well. read more

It's a good quick meal. Reasonable prices. A little challenging to figure out how to order. Don't take too long in the line - people tend to be quick. The pita is good - warm and from the oven. I ordered my food through Uber and thought they did a great job. There was nothing incorrect and the food was at my home within 20 minutes.

Recently visited this Roti and was asked for my card, which I have, so asked to see all of their employees cards as well. I was told that's not acceptable. Hypocrisy. The entire chain lost my business for good. read more

We tried this place 4 years ago, we gave it 2 at best. This time I came by myself without the family, took two orders Togo. The lamb meat balls were charred black, I asked the lady that was serving them if they are supposed to be like that, she said yes. They were burned! and she didn't even attempt to offer to make me a new batch when I pointed it out. Food is still served cold, but the bread is still good. I have to admit that 4 years ago I the manager offered that we go back for free meals, but my wife left with a bad taste in her mouth, no pun! We never did. We don't want freebies, we want good food that's worth paying for it. I am not sure how and why this chain is still in existence. Usually if you are the same after 4 years and did not improve, you are eliminated by the process of natural selection. read more

The concept is good....but maybe not this location. There's a lot of competition in this type of food. Chipotle is probably the biggest. Pick bowl or sandwich. Choose main ingredient, chicken, beef, falafel, etc. Then decide what toppings you want. Easy enough. Most places have this concept down to a science. I was a little disappointed in Roti though. Most of the food looked unappealing. The lamb meatballs looked deflated and dehydrated. They were crumbled and almost looked over cooked. They had a new batch come out as I was ordering, so I asked for the new ones. Other items that I added as toppings had definitely been sitting around for a while and weren't fresh. If the ingredients seemed fresh and better quality, this might be pretty good. Too bad read more

Hmm yet another copy cat of Chipotle but a middle eastern version. Man I should make a Korean chipotle! Hmm no one take my idea. Anyways the food was really good for the most part. Would've gave them 4 stars if the employees were a little more informative on the menu and the price was better. I do love their website though, it tells you all the macros and calories and y'all know I all about my macros! I've been to a Roti 3 Times now and I've gotten the same exact thing. Lame I know but hey at least I know I'm gonna enjoy what I pay for. Always get the pickled red onions it's really good. read more

Very disappointed. The online ordering was confusing. Every time I wanted to add to the order it said do you want to cancel this? I finally placed an order through a catering person. I wasn't sure if I liked it the first couple of times I ordered it. However, I find myself coming here once a week for lunch. For $9.45 I get chicken shawarma platter with rice, I love how I can add as many sauces and fixings as I want. I typically get the hummus, cabbage, vegetable salad, hummus, garlic and green shug sauces. In short you can add whatever you want and you get a mini Pita bread with it. Hits the spot for me every time and a pretty healthy meal overall. Worth the money for the amount of food you get. Great spot for quick modern Mediterranean. read more

I finally came here after hearing about it from so many people. Omg. Why didn't I come here sooner?!?!? Everything is so good and so fresh. I ordered the falafel pita with a little of everything. Umm yummmm!! Also got the pita chips and those were really good too. Just the right amount of spices on there! I love that they make the pita right there in the back! I wish they would break down the chickpeas more for the falafel tho. Maybe some people like it, but I wasn't a big fan of the huge chunks of chickpeas in there. I'll def be back again soon! read more

I'm traveling through. I found this restaurant on Uber Eats. Here is what I DIDN'T GET delivered to the Doubletree from what I ordered: EXTRA CHICKEN KABOB $1.50 ADD CHICKEN ROTI $2.50 CHOPPED FRESH CILANTRO GREENS'HUG SAUCE SIDE OF HUMMUS $3.50 EXTRA PITA BREAD $1.00 TOMATO AND CUCUMBER THERE'S MORE.... Plus nothing to eat the food with. DUH you are delivering to someone at a hotel. How about a plastic fork? The delivery guy couldn't WAIT to get out the door so I didn't have time to check on the delivery before he left. Once I did I called them but they were closed...90 minutes earlier than their posted hours. So what recourse am I left with? Dispute it on AMEX. And shame them on Yelp. UGH. How about you just do it right? Thats better for all concerned. The food they DID deliver was "Eh'" I didn't know this place was a chain or I would have never gotten into this mess in the first place. Easiest way to describe this place is: Mediterranean version of Chipotle After seeing Sarah S. post that they are serving free lunch today for their grand opening, I hopped in the car got in line. A 20 minute line out the door with people sitting on the cold curb eating. Could it really be THAT good? I ordered the steak rice plate and my wife ordered "The Best Plate Ever." So many options for sides, sauces, and toppings! For being a chain restaurant, I was really surprised at how bold the flavors were and how fresh all the ingredients were. I love Mediterranean style food and this place really hit the spot for a quick lunch style Mediterranean craving. Being located directly across the street from towering office buildings, I can just imagine the lines that'll form here daily during the lunch hour. The roti (bread) was fresh and warm and just chewy enough. Perfect for slathering all that tasty hummus all over. I know I'm repeating myself but I was really surprised at how bold and bright all the flavors were for being a chain restaurant since they usually dumb down the flavors to appeal to the wider, blander American audience. The juxtaposition of sour, sweet, and spicy flavors against the earthy rice and hummus had me swooning for more. I probably looked like a slob shoveling fork after fork in my face without pause, but I didn't care. About a $10 meal with plate plus drink but not a bad deal. It certainly doesn't beat the Pita House deal of $4.95 for lunch but this place just kills it on the flavor scale making this a great lunch, or even dinner, choice. (WTF happened to the well lauded Lincoln Whiskey Kitchen?? Another one bites the dust...probably due to the hefty, and seemingly unjustified, price tag. Womp womp.) read more

Want a boatload of tasty Mediterranean eats? Look no further than Roti. I'll agree with others, Roti is very much a Mediterranean Chipotle. And I like Chiptole, so there's that. The food is fresh, plentiful and flavorful. It's also faaaaaaast! I dropped in and ordered two rice plates to go. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes for less than $20. One rice plate covered me for two meals and here are a few things I really enjoyed... Chicken Roti - Flavorful, tender chunks of spiced chicken Pita -You can choose one or two pitas per plate. I was kicking myself that I went carb light and chose just one per plate. Dammit. These pitas was warm, pillowy and delicious. Hummus - A nom-worthy addition to any of your rice plate items. S'hug sauce - Spicy, complex perfection! Get some. There are so many combinations to be had at Roti, I know I'll be back to sample more! read more

Whoever said that Roti is a Mediterranean version of Chipotle got it spot on. Now, I'll admit they had me when I found out they had gluten free pita bread, but what's more? They warmed it up and it tasted absolutely delicious! The guy working there was super patient with me, explaining what everything was and even letting me sample things before adding it to my sandwich! I ended up with a gluten free pita with steak, red pepper sauce, and feta cheese and it was soo good -- probably the best food I've eaten out in a long time. The meat and toppings were so flavorful, I didn't expect this place to be part of a chain. With an up charge for the steak and an up charge for the gluten free pita, the total came to around $10 for a 7-inch sandwich before rolling. But that price won't deter me from coming back -- I just need to take more advantage of all the toppings! Without a doubt, I will be back at Roti the next time I need some quick food near the mall. They blew me away with their customer service and food quality. read more

I really like Roti. The food is tasty and I can eat gluten free here. My go-to meal is the rice plate, I get chicken roti, with "hot" sauce, tomato and cucumber salad, eggplant, and red cabbage salad. I skip the GF pita....I think it costs like $2....pass. I wish I could eat here more but my coworkers aren't always down with Mediterranean food. The parking lot here stinks. There are a bunch of food places and a barber shop in this strip mall. Then you have the idiots from the nearby businesses walking across the traffic on Meacham. Hello?!? Use the crosswalk for your safety and mine. read more
