Every one has called Roti very similar to Chipotle.. in terms of the logistics of the way you order and the assembly line. They need to have that in place to keep the line moving quickly and they do! I ordered the Sultan Sandwich after reading the menu before coming here for the first time. The chicken was delicious but a little dry, perhaps it was supposed to be this way? There sauce is kickin spicy! The down sides are that they stuff too much into a pita which is too small. Make bigger Pita bread! The lettuce and spinach was thrown on top and spilled out everywhere while the goodness rested down at the bottom. The pita was already ripping at the bottom and leaking sauce, it was a very messy but delicious experience.. you should wash your hands before you head out! I will return here to try the falafel sandwich and more of that hummus! read more

Not sure how people love this place... I've had real Mediterranean food and this is nothing like it... and the chicken was really dry! I like the concept... but the quality of the food just isn't there! read more

Love Roti! Awesome, fresh, super consistent, healthy food! Vegan and gluten free options (including pitas!) If I could give 10 starts I would! read more

This place really rocks. I'm here at lunch time right now, it's busy as hell, and the people are so nice and helpful. As a vegan, I find it really easy to get a lot of sustenance (not just falafel) and it tastes amazing. Fuck yeah, Roti. read more

Great stop for a quick and delicious meal! The restaurant itself is cafeteria looking and is obviously designed like a factory to handle crowds of people and do a brisk catering business. I got the Sultan Sandwich and a side of falafel an within minutes I was eating a delicious meal. I will definitely come back. read more

Roti is always a solid lunch option for me, and this location is my favorite. They are fast and friendly. I usually get a Roti chicken salad, but I also have had and enjoyed their plates and wraps. Extra props for carrying Honest Teas! read more

It's like a Mediterranean Qdoba. So so good. I like the atmosphere, and the food is super tasty! It's a little pricey for this graduate student, but it's a nice treat every now and again. Hummus...mmm! read more

I don't get why all my friends rave about Roti. A coworker suggested Roti after he heard me say that I had a craving for hummus and falafel. To be fair Roti is a good option for a fast, semi-healthy, and affordable lunch in the Loop. However, the food lacks flavor. I had a chicken salad with feta, veggies, hummus, olives, red cabbage slaw, and a side of falafel. The chicken and veggies were the only flavorful items. There are so many better options for real Middle Eastern food. read more

This place is like a chipotle, but better! Really great food that is quick and easy. Pita bread was warm and amazing. Loved the veggie options. Will return! read more

This is basically the mediterranean version of Chipotle. The restaurant layout is almost identical, and the food is about what you'd expect as well - delicious but not authentic. I got the rice plate with steak, cucumber yogurt sauce with hummus, tomato salad, and mixed veggies as the sides and everything was very tasty, although not exceptional. The meal was pretty satisfying and I wasn't hungry 2 hours later, so that's a plus. It's a pretty healthy option if you want to get a fast and cheap meal in by the loop. read more

I have to start off by saying I am a huge fan of Mediterranean food. This restaurant is kind of like the Mediterranean food version of chipotle. You have a ton of options of what you want on your plate, sandwich, or salad. They have a huge variety of sauces, meats, and toppings. The employees are also really great. If you are skeptical of the food they are more than willing to answer questions about how spicy the sauce is or what the falafel tastes like. It is difficult to say whether I like Naf Naf or Roti better. I think I like Naf Naf's pita's better, but Roti has a bigger selection which is better if you are picky when if comes to your food. Overall, great experience with great customer service. read more

I sure hope this makes its way out to Minneapolis soon. As others have mentioned, this is the Mediterranean version of Chipotle. You pick the "format" (wrap, pita, salad, or on a bed of rice), the "meat" (chicken, steak, roasted veggies, falafel - but no lamb, which seems odd for Mediterranean place) and then there a ton of toppings and sauces. I had a falafel pita with cabbage slaw, onions and a tomato/cucumber mix. The pita is warmed in a little press (just like Chipotle does with tortillas) so it comes out super soft and warm and pillowy and delicious. Falafel was flavorful, and the toppings were awesome. The sandwich and a pop came to about 10 bucks. The menu is online, and as Cyn C recommends, try to plan ahead. The choices can be a bit overwhelming, especially when you're hungry and you're at a new place, and I can see this place being crowded over lunch. At 11:30 on Thursday, it was actually pretty empty. Great place! read more

Get out the Hummus! This place rocks and why do they not have one in the suburbs. Went here for lunch this past Saturday just by random. I was walking by, never heard of it and just thought I'd try it. Easy to order easy to go. Tones of choices and flavors to add to your pita or Mediterranean plate. I would definitely go here again but it's just a little bit out of my area. It's fast food with a great atmosphere but without the grease and a lot better quality of meat to choose from too. There's also a lot of vegetarian choices too. Please come out to the west suburbs Roti! read more

A co-worker has been getting me to go here for a while, after he found it "absolutely amazing". So today, craving a savory salad, I finally decided to give this place a try--braving the Chicago rain. "So where are you getting lunch today?" "Umm I think I'm going to try Roti" "Good. Good. You won't be disappointed." And I wasn't. This was probably one of the best salads I ever had. It's comparable to a Chipotle, except better and a lot more high-end. My favorite is that all the toppings are gourmet toppings. Instead of your classic tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions, Roti has sumac onions, seasoned tomato and cucomber salad, hummus, cous cous, eggplant, baba ganoush, roasted vegetables...etc. My favorite was the hummus--it was so smooth, so creamy, so obviously house-made, and tasted fabulous and fresh. The roasted vegetable was also a favorite, with the lightly seasoned crunchy carrots and broccoli. The chicken on my salad was well seasoned and grilled to delicious goodness. A few pieces were actually over-grilled, and a bit hard to the bite, but I didn't mind. Toss that all together, and you've got a delectable salad. Gourmet and savory. I also had the baklava, which I found to be too sweet and dense to be too enjoyable. An extra plus is that pita bread--well made with the right amount of chewiness and moistness, but nothing really special--comes for free with the salad. I hate it in New York when I have to pay extra for the bread above my already $10 salad. I love your prices, Chicago. read more

This is such a fantastic lunch place! I tried something new this time and got a salmon salad with dill-yogurt sauce, couscous, roasted veggies, and cabbage slaw. And some feta. Salmon costs a little more than the other options, $2 upcharge I believe. You don't get a huge amount, just a kebab's worth, but it was great, fresh fish and went perfectly with all the other super-fresh ingredients. That yogurt-dill sauce, oh mah goooood, I imagine it goes great with all of their proteins but it was born to accompany salmon. I loved the pearl couscous tinged yellow from saffron, and the roasted veggies were fantastic. Love that they roast them instead of steam them, because they have this gorgeous caramelized flavor. Slaw was good, but got lost flavor-wise with all the other great stuff. Came with a pita alongside. For $9.95 which I admit isn't cheap, but if I got another meat it would've been $7.95 and that is a good deal! They have a cool rewards app where you can snap pictures of your receipt and you get points based on what you've ordered. They also spontaneously give you free things - I got a free honest tea today that they just loaded onto my app, randomly! And now there's a free falafel on there! I'm a fan. Make sure to keep your receipt for that reason. Hard to get a seat but after 130 pm it totally dies down. They have a patio too, with maybe 10 tables. The line forms to the left and it moves fast, so look at the menu before you get in and be ready to order quickly! This assembly line is down to a science and they will move you on through. No time to sit and ponder! I should really come here more often, it is such a solid lunch spot. So fresh! Everyone calls it the Chipotle of Mediterranean food but the quality of ingredients is higher and I think everything is more skillfully prepared. read more

This was my first time here. Visiting Chicago and stopped in. I had no idea what to order so just guessed. Chicken wrap with hummus, tomatoes and cucumbers, quinoa cauliflower tabbouleh, feta cheese and spicy green s'hug. Wow! It was so full of flavor. We need one in Rhode Island so I could eat here more often. Give it a try. read more

On a search to find a quick, healthy non-salad lunch, Roti was a solid choice. Prior to my walk over there from work, I reviewed their nutrition calculator on the website. When I showed up, I knew exactly what I wanted to order. Escaping the hustle and bustle from the loop lunch rush, I was willing to sit here and take my time. The lighting full of red, orange shades made me feel relaxed and stressless. Great music and comfortable booth seats added to the mood. Although their wifi wasn't working, I didn't mind at all. oder: Chicken Kabob plate with rice, baba ganoush, cucumber tomato salad and roasted vegetables. - 395 calories and under 700mg of sodium. Healthy non-salad fast food like this is very hard to come by. Especially for under $10. As healthy as everything claims to be, and with such a great quick food service environment, I probably wont be a frequent visitor. The food quality was subpar. Roasted vegetables served cold tasted dull, sweet and oily. The 4 oz chicken kabob was small, forgettable and has 10g of fat. I ordered the lemon chicken soup. There were a lot of vegetables, but merely a couple morsels of chicken. I took a bite and my mouth just felt greasy, so I closed the cap and accepted the loss. To sum it up: If I'm in need of a break and near a Roti, I would give it some consideration. I wouldn't particularly come here for my mediterranean cravings. Killer concept and a great addition to the mix of loop lunch options. read more

I crave Roti's chicken Mediterranean salad. I add hummus and a little of the spicy sauce and it is delicious! i typically go near the end of the lunch rush [after 1 pm] when there's minimal line, minimal waiting. It's a good place to go if you're looking for lunch in the Loop that isn't the usual sandwich or burger. read more

Nice Mediterranean chain restaurant option. Its got the same assembly line ordering as Chipotle, which felt like a lamb to the slaughter but I guess a few goes at it and you'd get the hang of all the choices in the amount of time you have to put your dish together. Still it felt rushed but the food quality was decent enough to go at it again and in a world where American food prevails, it's nice to have Mediterranean food start to get more prevalent and quickly available for lunch in a timely manner. read more

Amazing, friendly, and highly efficient staff! Always tasty and fulfilling meals! Highly recommended!

This place is basically a Mediterranean-style Chipotle. I like that the menu has enough choices to keep things interesting but not so many that it overwhelms you. This is my first time here. Had the salad with greens, salmon, cous-cous, tomato/cucumber, feta, pita chips, olives, and vinaigrette. Delicious. read more

The menu has shrank and quality is suspect compared to when it first opened. Seems like their more focused in making money vs. quality. Was way better the first year it was open and appears to be going downhill read more

This place is if nothing else, consistent. I always get the falafel with the broccoli and tomatoes with rice and yogurt sauce and a side of feta. Sure it's mass produced but its definitely flavorful. The staff is also very friendly. Line usually goes quickly during lunch too. read more

Today's visit at Roti for lunch was my first here in a few months. My how things have changed. As one recent Yelp reviewer wrote, their serving sizes have definitely shrunk. When I asked for a little bit of veggies to be added to my rice plate, I was yelled at by multiple servers behind the counter that it would be ".75 cents more!" I like their food, but the experience and value is not worth a return visit any time soon. read more

Roti is a mediterranean chain restaurant that is only in Chicago and DC. It is not like other chain fast foods (ie Chipotle, McD's, Chick-fil-a)- the food is fresh and not overwhelmed with the same spices in every dish (ex: Chipotle and cilantro). Roti has vegetarian and meaty options- and if you go during lunch the pitas are fresh before your eyes- and so delicious! The only complaint i have is ordering the rice bowl- you only get three toppings. Be sure to get the pita or the wrap- you get unlimited toppings for cheaper. read more

Yummm! Definitely try! Veggie: pita sandwich + hummus + all sides minus cabbage/greens + spicy & garlic sauce. This was finger licking good! (5/5) Chicken: rice plate + chicken kabob with same side as above was above average (3.75/5) read more

There is nothing more disappointing when you take a bite of the rice and find out it is not properly cooked! Well, this happened at Roti - the rice was hard and killed my mood to eat the rest of the bowl. read more

Roti is a great work-lunch spot. They have fast service and good quality food. If you go there frequently be sure to use their app since you'll be able to use it to get frequent buyer points. read more

The restaurant is set up like a Mediterranean subway where you have different breads and topping options. Such a simple concept I cant understand why there aren't more restaurants like this out there. There were several different vegetarian options. I got a veggie pita with marinated vegetable which was really good. A good lunch option for downtown Chicago. read more

Amazing choices!! Tried the best plate ever and added some more couscous!!! To die for!!

I have eaten a lot of tasty Mediterranean food in the Chicsgo area, and this is one restaurant I certainly would skip. The food looks promising here as they serve it up, with pretty colors and bits of this and that to make the food visually appealing. That would be with the exception of the hummos which plopped back into the container when it was being scooped up--couldn't they portion it out of sight to avoid this unappetizing scenario? I like my hot food served hot and my cold food served cold, and on both counts Roti was a fail. My undressed lettuce was a little short of sad as it eased its way to a definate wilt. The hummos was flavorless and had all the charm of something straight from the can. The pita tasted as if it was a flour offering from the day-old section. I do think I would have liked the steak if it had been something other than lukewarm. The rice looked good, but was neither hot nor flavorful. The only way I can describe the hot sauce was wierd--sort of plum sauce with chilies gone very, very wrong. All in all, an amazingly flavorless meal that left me thinking tht it would have been far smarter and cheaper to get a chicken wap and a side salad at the nearby McDonalds. If the restaurant could get the temperatures right, and if they could serve tasty flavors rather than bland ho-humness, I think this place could be pretty good. As it is, its future--as soon as the novelty wars off--is in doubt. I would like to note that lots of people were in line to buy food, the restaurant was busy, and I didn't see disgruntled customers, so take my review with a grain of salt. Better yet, take that grain of salt with you because you will need it. No salt shakers were in sight, and while I imagine there likely was salt near the napkins, the tables are so close together It wasn't worth the bother. Too bad, because maybe it would have helped. I give this restaurant 2 stars because a colleague of mine said he liked the food. read more

Excellent. I had a chicken roti salad. Tastes great. Quick and friendly service. Clean interior. My only complaint was the bad music, which is a problem with me and not the store. read more

We went here last night for dinner after visiting the Christkindlmarket. The food was excellent. Our only disappointment was that we received a very unwelcoming greeting from the female manager...she could have cracked a least a little smile...I mean it is the Holiday season! As we had our two little ones in tow, I was happy to see all the extremely healthy options (nothing fried!) and the remainder of the staffers were very pleasant and helpful...this was our first go round. It is reminiscent of a Chipotle where you select all of the options as you move down the line. For $7.99 a plate, it was a steal! read more

It is like a chipotle for mediterranean food. Quality, good tasting, quick food. Service was polite and helpful.

Needed food for a family get together in a hurry. Online said the Mediterranean platter would take a while, so I decided I'd head over and worst case order a bunch of individual dishes. Walked in and talked to Treyvon - he had us all set with the platter in 15min. Would definitely recommend and use again. Thank you! read more

I'd enjoyed Roti in the past for lunch, but I have to tell you that they do a fine breakfast as well! I had the boldly-named Conquistador, which had eggs, avocado, chicken sausage, cheese, and a tasty Mediterranean sauce. With a good-sized cup of Metropolis coffee, this meal came out to under five bucks. Everything was super fresh and tasty and the service was beyond good (maybe because I was the only person in the place?) So, don't discount Roti for breakfast! It's a great alternative to a fast-food place at the same price, if not cheaper. read more

The Fallafel are amazing and the food overall is fairly decent, but the veggies are more often drab and overcooked than crunchy and delicious. They also have a frequent customer card that is a complete scam...the machine is supposed to discount 5 for every 50 you send but I went in last week with 42 point and scanned again today and the machine said I had 22 points. This is the second time this has happened to me at this place--it's really bad business. The only reason why I keep on going is because there aren't any other relatively healthy options in the loop. read more

A group was meeting up at Roti for lunch today, so I decided to join them. As soon as I stepped in the door, I felt crazy overwhelmed because of how the line was. I arrived around 12:10pm, but by the time I left about 1pm, the line was even longer. I was surprised at how quickly and efficiently they were able to move people through the line. It's like the Mediterranean version of Chipotle. I ordered a salad with falafel, tahini, tomato & cucumber salad, roasted vegetables, eggplant, and spicy red cabbage. It was served with some pita, which I did not eat, but it looked pretty standard for pita. Everything tasted very fresh and flavorful! It is a quick, relatively healthy option for lunch.. read more

Another great fast casual counter service restaurant insprired by Chipotle; this one with a mediterranean theme. I had a salad plate with a bunch of toppings (hummus, chicken schwarma, cous cous, olives, tomatos). With all the toppings I selected my plate ended up looking a little messy and overloaded but I enjoyed the explosion of taste in my mouth. I also ordered a side of falafels which were yummy. They have a few recommended combinations yo might want to consider if it's your first time here. read more

Roti is pretty solid. All of the food tastes fresh and everything is well flavored. They're a little stingy with the meat, but other than that, I really have no issues. However comparing them to some of their competition like Naf Naf, I think they might want to be a little more generous. It would also be nice if the pita was warm. read more
