Therapist is hot and cold! Saw her for many years. She had Ethics problems as she accepted gifts and also gave them. She hugged and loved on me which I needed at the time as I was very young. She let me play with her makeup on the floor with her. We (my husband and I) watched her home for a couple of nights. I spent many years fighting for my life and she was quite pivotal to my recovery. Dr Roth is an excellent EMDR therapist who studied with Shapiro- this is impressive and Amy would study with the best. I appreciated that and she got a pretty outstanding fee for it too. Minimum 2 hour sessions 2/3 times a week at $175 hour and that was in 1997! I was on disability and she would hound me about me bill. I was in treatment and she was my counselor- while in treatment she actually called my counselor to say she CANNOT return to my practice as she is owes me money. Wow no aftercare!
It goes on and on! So many things that I needed to unwind after leaving her care. Actually it took 11 years to learn the depth of her ethical boundary breaks. So I'll leave you with this... certainly she's a fantastic therapist who doesn't have boundaries or ethics. Or perhaps she really tried to help. The whole therapist/patient relationship became seriously blurred. It's a risk and you better have a big time bank account. Proceed with caution! read more
