This review is for the playground area only. The first time I came here, I made the mistake of parking along Crabapple Road to try to find the playground. From there, you have to walk around the lake, then through the recreation center to the "almost other side" of the park to get to the playground. You can drive south the the entrance and park along the street or one of the small parking lots much closer to the playground. That said, the space is great! It is large and spread out. There is a covered pavilion and lots of other seating in the form of benches. There are 4 distinct areas, with swings in multiple areas. The slides are high and large and there is a zip line and spinning cage item that is a bog hit with the kids. I've been coming to this park since I was a kid and I have to say it has gotten better with age. Not only is the place well maintained and super clean...if you see how many people frequent this place during peak times you'd be impressed too! Some of the things this park offers are of the following: 1.6 miles of walking trails 7.4 miles of historic trails 50 meter Olympic size pool with 8 lap lanes! picnic area toddler playground public restrooms an art center basketball, softball and baseball fields soccer and lacrosse fields as well fishing and a beautiful pond with ducks and geese They also have lots of classes for kids and adults of all ages including Zumba, cardio, Tai chi, nutrition counseling as well as Karate, fencing, self defense and cooking classes even! This a gorgeous park to relax, workout or play sports!! They have several tennis courts and baseball fields plus some football fields and a soccer field. They also have a mini water park area for kids. They are equipped with a small workout station shielded from the sun, which is very nice! There's a beautiful lake with fountains to walk around or to sit at and enjoy. There's also an art gallery on the property. This is definitely a park that's got it all!! read more

I found Roswell park two weeks ago. And I'm very glad I did. It's such a beautiful park. There's fun for everyone and the playground it's so inviting. Unfortunately, I was with my baby so I was not able to join my 7 year old in the fun. Pool, art center, trails, football, soccer, baseball fields. Just tons of things to do. We went to the park primarily because my son wanted to play basketball but unfortunately there are no courts outdoors and the Rec center was closed on Sunday. There's also tons of events and classes being offered at the park so there's always a reason to come back and we will. read more

Nice shady park to spend an afternoon with the family. It is a little hidden gem, the children's playground is quite nice, it has two large slides and toy area that easy fits a good amount of children. There is a smaller playground on the left of it for the toddlers. Bathrooms are within sight ( can't speak of their condition as we did not use them). I liked this park because of the shaded playground surrounded by trees. There are plenty of places for parents to sit and all within view of the playgrounds. The one negative is that parking was on the street above the play areas which was cool going down but it felt like you were climbing a mountain on the way back up. This is definitely the best park, in roswell, and probably in fulton county. There are 3 separate playgrounds. there is a toddler and younger area that has a lot of baby swings, play areas, a sandbox, a few slides. It is also fenced in so you don't have to worry about the little ones wondering off. The next area is a little larger and probably for kids up to five. Also swings, slides, play stations, and a tire swing. On the third and largest playground there is much to do. Huge slides, climbing rock walls, activity centers, smaller slides, monkey bars, climbing ladders, swings, and tire swings. This is definitely the big kid side, however, I see a lot of 3 -4 year olds tuning around. There are tons of places to sit, eat, have a picnic, meet a group of people, or have a party! This park has several athletic fields as well as a community pool. They also have a rec building that offers classes every season, an arts building, and a community center building. There are lots of biking trails,.and even more than I know of most likely. Even if you don't have kids, roswell park is a great place to hang out! read more

This is a great park for kids, dogs, and runners. But anyone on wheels (inline skates, bicycles, skooters, or skateboards) won't like it (and there are rules against you using your wheels). Trails are mostly gravel and compacted dirt. Trails are rarely paved or very badly paved. Area is somewhat low in elevation so things get muddy after rains. read more

This has been one of my favorite public parks for almost 10 years now. In addition to the large public activity centers they have established (including a swimming pool that costs $5 a day or free with membership, an art gallery, baseball and soccer fields and tennis courts) they also have a very nice playground and great paths for running and walking. You really couldn't ask for more things to be included in a park, all while keeping it beautiful and pleasant to walk around in, with definite character. Last time I was at this park there was a group of Mexican men and women putting on a live open air church sermon in one of the pavilions, so literally you can do anything here. Without question one of the best parks outside the perimeter. read more

A few days before Christmas, a small fire triggered the sprinkler system in my brand-spanking new penthouse condo in Midtown, causing over a quarter of a million dollars in water damage. Over a month later, the insurance companies and the contractors are still fighting over who will pay what, leaving me grateful that my mom recently relocated to Gainesville, leaving my childhood home in Roswell open for me to occupy for the time being. Yup, I'm 25 and living in my parent's house in the 'burbs (but hopefully only for another week or two). But living at home in the 'burbs has it's benefits, one of which being this beautiful park. As a kid, I took art, drama, and dance classes here, as a teen I belonged to the pool in the summer, took yoga, and joined the gym (under $50 a quarter). Now, I've been loving the trails as I try to stay active while doing Yelp's In It To Thin It. The main loop is just under two miles long, and loops around the ball fields, through the trees, and around a large lake complete with the biggest American flag you've ever seen and a lovely fountain. The ducks here used to terrorize me as a kid, but they were sadly absent on my last visit. The playgrounds, picnic shelters, and ball fields are always bustling, but the park is big enough that you can escape the masses out in the forest. There's also plenty of parking, but beware of leaving anything that even appears slightly valuable in plain sight -a friend had her car broken into for the quarters in her cupholder. read more

This review is for the Roswell Area Park Tennis Center Only. Lots of well managed and well-lighted courts. Cost is $3 for non-residents and $2 for residents. Courts can get busy but I've never had a problem getting/reserving courts. Pam has been great to deal with. This is my favorite place to play tennis in Atlanta. read more

This is my son's review. He is in second grade. Roswell Area park is a completely awesome park. It has five incredible tube slides that pretty much all kids will enjoy. The park includes a giant playground for the older kids as well as three smaller playgrounds for the little kids. The park usually has lots of kids, and is very loud. The park is surrounded by baseball fields and soccer fields that are usually occupied by a game. There are plenty of swings and there is always one open. Would be so much better if it wasn't for all the dog's !! Firstly, are there no dog -only- parks in GA? Just gotta have your lil buddy 'pseudo child' poop & pee where humans want to play with their children and not have to come into contact with the residue of your ____ . Going to start volunteering for the ATL Humane Society again to help clear those kennels out. =D Secondly, and sadly, the dogs are better trained than THE KIDS !!! Ya'll need to pay your nannies more to smack those kids upside their heads. Don't Skimp. I'll even chip in so you don't have to go without getting your BMW detailed. Seriously have never seen so many self absorbed parents who can not maintain their kids. Comparable to being at Chuck E Cheese some times; times are different indeed. It's sad too since we've met some nice people and kids there but those parents can't tolerate it either and we never end up seeing them again. Just the usual suspects. _ read more

The pool here is AMAZING! I canceled our membership to a pool close to our house to join this one. The lifeguards and staff are incredibly professional and hard-working. They change out the lifeguards frequently so that they are able to concentrate on the kids in the pool. They are reasonably strict in enforcing the pool rules, which my family appreciates. Our former pool had a lifeguard that was looking at his phone constantly and didn't see a kid drowning. You will never catch a lifeguard on their phone here or doing anything that interferes with paying attention to the people in the pool. In addition, this pool is very clean and organized. It is quite a drive for us, but we can't imagine going anywhere else. read more

I love the walking trails and wide paths at RAP. The park is very dog friendly, and if only I could convince my husband that dogs are AWESOME, I would enjoy walking my dog everyday at this park. Thankfully, I live close enough to walk here, because at peak hours or on beautiful days, it can be difficult to find a parking spot. RAP even has an art community center and a garden. read more

It's pretty hard to not like parks, so unless there is something majorly wrong, I'm not going to knock them. Especially this one. Roswell Park is one of the best parks in North Fulton. Huge recreation center (gymnastics set up, bball courts, and might even have a racquetball court), art center, tennis courts, trails, fields, three playgrounds (one fenced off for the little, little ones)...you can't go wrong. The running trails are well lit and wide and although I wish they were longer, it's a great spot to run or walk. Great park! My primary use for this park is the playground with the kids. The playground is shaded a little bit for those hot summer days. There are multiple playgrounds for smaller kids. This park offers everything including baseball, tennis, swimming, etc. the only small downside is that parking can be difficult on a busy day. read more

Great park. Playground is nicely shaded. Love the trail that runs by the pond. Not terribly crowded during the day on weekdays.

My dog Sadie loves it here. I wish I could take her here more often because it is such a nice place her here to run around, and even place with some of the kids in the area. I even study here some days. Weather is starting to change up a bit, but I'll be coming here a lot more often in the spring time and in the summer. read more
