Wow let's start off by saying that. This place was beautiful and fun definitely something different to try out if your in Roswell . I'm not sure if it's a hidden gem or if I'm just late to the party but i really enjoyed my self, from the views of the trails to the water falls and dams to the hiking and little view of the houses up high were really cool. This place was peaceful a breath of fresh air . You can definitely tell everyone was enjoying there self we were able to see two people get baptized, 3 different photos shoots took place on the water and even two weddings were happening while we where here what a day lol I definitely recommend trying this park out for a nice hike and then enter the river after your hike at least get your feet wet lol.
On the weekend this is an extremely popular spot. Parking is available near the trailhead as well as up the hill. Although there is another parking lot, this is for business parking only. At the trail head you will find a Little Free Library where you can take or leave a book. Their website and library number is listed if you wish to contact the organizer. This trail runs up the river toward the dam, and a bit past where it meets a dead end. It also runs along the down stream watercourse. A bridge to cross over into the National Recreation area was installed in 2004. As a National park, a day pass is required (purchase online for $5) or have an annual pass. The trails here, on both sides of the river, are nicely maintained, and include a variety of rocks and roots to watch out for. There are also many hills, stairs and ramps, some quite steep. The Old Mill side appears to be mostly wheelchair accessible, but still, some of the inclines are steep. A lovely space for a long or short exercise excursion.
I found this place on yelp and decided to go for a little hike. This place is in a neighborhood and there's a small parking lot. There's clean bathrooms as soon as you get there. You can either walk right down to the water or walk through the bridge on a small hike that takes about 10 minutes to get to the water fall. This place is clean. You can get in water if you want to swim or just sit on the side. We walked back and put our feet in the water it was pretty low. Good for kids to splash around.
I was looking for a new hiking trail to explore and several people recommended Old Mill Park in Roswell so I decided to give it a try. Located in Roswell off of 400 on Mills St. with plenty of free parking if you get there early. I got up very early on a Sunday morning to hit the trail by 7am. It was so beautiful and great adventure my pup loved it especially the waterfall. The trails were nice for running, walking with you pups or family with a covered bridge and a million stairs. This was a great trek and I will definitely be back to explore some more.
You can find this gem hidden off South Atlanta Street, not too far after you cross over the Chattahoochee River coming from Roswell Rd. It's literally at the light where Mill Street, South Atlanta Street and Marietta Hwy intersect. Once you turn on Mill Street, you'll go alllll the way down to the bottom of the hill, and you'll see the parking lots (Roswell Mill is here). It's been a good 5 years since I last came here. I was previously engaged to be married and our wedding venue had been the Roswell Mill. Did a taste testing of the venue that last trip, and then never had the desire to come back after calling off the wedding. I'm sure if you're reading this, you really needed to know those facts . Anywho, my son and I were driving, and I wanted to do some hiking with him. We were in the area and decided to just drop in. So glad I did! It was packed out here and we did find a spot. We trekked down the hill to the covered bridge area. Beautiful views! They even have a massive viewing deck before you get to the cover bridge. There is a ton of history here and lots of historical markers to read. We noticed how many people were playing in the creek, and were intrigued to get down to the water. I walked down with him, using the nice stairway (the Steps were grated metal, to help prevent slipping and tracking mud). Great spot to relax, although somebody mentioned a copperhead snake on one of the rocks so please be weary! We then took the staircase to the very top (insane calf workout, and I had just run 12 miles that morning). We opted to go to the left, which I'm so glad we did bc the Waterfall is that way! The dirt trail was moderate, and there was a decently steep area to get down to the bottom of the waterfall. That didn't deter the 60+ people we saw wading in and around the waterfall. It was really cool to see so many families, kids, teenagers and college students just hanging out in this area. I NEVER knew this existed. Such a great area to get some moderate hiking in and get access to the creek easily, plus the scenery is perfect. I'm coming back here again with the sole intent to sit my butt in the creek and enjoy nature. Great spot to stop!
Good for family outings, but not the best place for babies. Highly recommend bringing swim shoes for leeches and slippery rocks if you plan on getting in the water. If you are trying to swim, it is a pretty steep way down to get by the waterfall. Bring a first aid kit with you because falls happen pretty easily on the rocks. The hike is really easy to the waterfall if you take the lower route (left from the bathroom). If you want to just relax near the water, there are plenty of spaces across the bridge if you go downstairs. Dogs usually do well here versus the larger area.
Went for a walk here with a friend, out our feet in the water, the weather was enjoyable that day it was nice, yes I would recommend seeing it.
A visit to Old Mill Park provide us with a truly relaxing back-to-nature experience - while still well within the Greater Atlanta area! The sites available to visitors here make this place a must-visit. There's a covered bridge, some amazing hiking trails, and even a waterfall here :-) During the course of a leisurely afternoon we had a wonderful time and went home with some outstanding pictures - highly recommended!

That was a nice surprise. Beautiful park with easy access and free parking. Spending mostly time in the car driving around, this is nice break. Nice trails with graphic signages at every crossing. "Mother Nature" give us opportunity for taking a number of photos to take as memories home. The trails, at least what we walked, are easy to moderate. Great place to visit, excercise and relax.

This is a perfect location for a photoshoot! The parking can be a bit challenging but once you find a spot, you will be able to enjoy the grounds. The bridge and river were picturesque. The waterfall was a popular place to be, as families swam, picnicked, and soaked their feet in the water. It was beyond crowded, so it might help to get there earlier. If you have anyone elderly or injured, you may want to be mindful of the steep hills leading to and from the waterfall- assistance might be needed. A nice place to have a family outing. read more

A solid 3.5 stars I debated on whether to give it a 3 or 4 stars....I use to come here as a kid when Roswell wasn't as overly populated. So my memories of the place is really from that time when it was less crowded and noisy. Don't get me wrong it's is still extremely well maintained and clean...a compliment to the city of Roswell for staying on top of things...but it seems with each passing year the crowds grows larger and larger. The parking becomes a chore and it sorta takes the fun out of things....but if you can make it here on a weekday or better early mornings where you can hear the birds and water serenading a duet of ode to mother nature herself....it's not a bad place to come if you don't come on the weekends.... read more
What a hidden gem in the heart of Roswell (not far from Atlanta)! My husband and I had some time to kill before seeing an opera at the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center in nearby Sandy Springs. We decided to stop by Old Mill Park to do a bit of exploring. We followed the signs for trails (the park is sort of hidden by an old shopping center that looked empty), and we were so surprised by what we found. A beautiful trail with a covered bridge, trail running along a creek with beautiful nature all around (including a heron we got some good photos of). (This seems a weird thing to include in a review, but it matters so I'm saying it: they also have very decent bathrooms here.) The only downside of our visit was that we had so little time to explore! I'd love to go back and explore more of the trails. Beautiful! read more
An absolutely beautiful walk. They have about five different ways you can go. Parking was plentiful and of course you gotta pay. I took my dog and we were able to find the Mill (thanks Google!). Gorgeous, peaceful and cool to explore. My dog seemed to have enjoyed it. You can apparently ride your bike on a trail but they do have trails where you can only walk on. If you're going to go on the trail to the Mill, do expect some cardio. It's a bunch of up and down and rocky areas. My little guy did great and I would love to go back again. read more

Good place for hiking & walking your dog. Watch out for the snake, I found two on the rock and in the water as well. The way to the big waterfall is very steep and a bit aggressive if you choose to go by the shortcut. read more
What? A waterfall?! My friend told me about it but I couldn't believe it till I saw it for myself. This park was super nice with walking trails, water (very muddy looking water), dogs, kids, lots to look at and pretty views. I have to come back in the Fall and get some pics of my daughter here. The big draw is the time it took to get here, a much easier drive than going way up North. I was really planning on getting a good walk done here but my dog wimped out less than half a mile out. I at least got to see the pretty waterfall. I will say if you bring your dog, be sure to bring some bags because I didn't see any pick up stations. And if you come during peak hours, you may add on to your walking time because it was packed when I was there. I'll have to come back soon sans dog. read more

A treasure in Metro Atlanta. The old buildings, bridge and waterfall make this a perfect weekend get away. It's a great place to get some exercise and enjoy the sound of moving water. I would suggest to bring some bottled water as the hills are slightly aggressive. Its an absolute must for locals. read more

This park is beautiful! Get ready to do some walking! I honestly came to view the waterfall. There are two directions to the waterfall. Maps are provided along the trail. Once you are at the waterfall, it's very steep to get to the bottom. People carrying children really made me nervous. The water is beautiful and the next time I go I'll come in a swimsuit to really enjoy it. read more
This is such a beautiful location! This might be my new favorite hiking spot! The trails are nice and too difficult, and there is a good bit of tree coverage. Only downside for me would be the parking, but, at least it's free! Mill Street is also not far from Canton Street, so that gives me a great excuse to eat lunch there afterwards. read more

What a nice little park! If you go on the trail, I highly recommend going to see the waterfall. So incredibly beautiful and a nice place to sit and relax. I would also recommend bringing 'Off Bug Spray'. You'll need it. There aren't too many people there either if you go on the morning. There we only 3 or 4 that I saw when I went. But overall, it's a great walk for everyone, including dogs! read more

Not to far from the city. My boyfriend and I went there to hike and see the waterfall. With the pandemic going on, do bring a mask. At some point you will use stairs to get higher. When we went on a Saturday, we were crossing paths with about 15 others that didn't bring a mask on the stairs. read more
If you want to see a waterfall easily, go here! Went with my family for a hike. Many trails to choose from and the best part, there are Vicekry Creek maps at different stops along the way! So so great! My son had such a good time identifying which stop we were at and which way to go to get to what. We did two paths and both were easy enough for my two year old. The waterfall itself is beautiful. It is very muddy and dirty though but hey, it's nature. There are two sides to the waterfall, so while you're taking pictures and admiring on one side, you'll see ppl enjoying right across, which is nice. THere are signs that warn you to keep of the dam. Google got us to the wrong spot, but not to worry, it clearly happens a lot, because there is a city sign that tells you to turn around and turn on the other street, lol. We didn't have any problem with parking. Upon entering there is one of those Little Free Libraries. Immediately, when you descend from the parking lot, you come to the bridge which overlooks the running water. read more

Literally steps away from Vickery creek falls, Old Mill park is kinda confusing to me, because i'm not sure where it begins and vickery ends or if it ends, but one thing I know is man this is a really pretty area. I wasn't ready for both the size and strength of the water falls at Vickery Creek. It's a pretty accessible set of falls, that can be reached in a 10 minute walk from the side closest to the parking lot. Pay attention to little stringer trails that lead down towards the lake, as they often allow you front and center access to the falls, which is truly fantastic! There's a covered bridge that you can cross, but before I gloss over the covered bridge, it's a VERY popular attraction, both in design and what you can see from it (mostly the crashing waters below). Crossing the bridge leads to a series of trails that do lead you to the falls from the other side, but also continue on past the falls, which is kind of a stark change from crashing, powerful sounding falls, on to a tranquil stream of water that you'd never expect was the culprit for those great falls just below. There aren't any guard rails anywhere near the falls, so please don't try to jump in here at the top, and definitely keep an eye on your kids/pets. Going back to the falls, they're well marked blaze trails markers, mostly white, some are blue, and there are stop stations that give you a map of the park, although as others have mentioned, there are no "you are here" marks, or at least not from the ones I passed. But they all criss cross on top of each other (the trails), they aren't difficult, and you wont get lost, so feel free to explore. It's a little more accessible on the side nearest to the parking lots, where more of the construction has taken place in the form of nice paved trails, very nice restrooms and clean trails, along with picnic tables and grills. Venture away from the falls, under the covered bridge, and you'll find yourself standing at certain pieces of mill equipment that hasn't been operational in years, but still worth a photo, and very much the reason how Old mill park got its name. Parking here, closest to the falls, is pretty slammed, and cars blatantly stop and idle, waiting on people to come to their cars, then they follow them around until they reach their cars. It's so funny to see this. There are of course other lots further away, but definitely aren't first choices. Old Mill Park is an excellent experience in terms of raw beauty, waterfall payoff, and trails accessible to all comers, combined with a covered bridge that can also steal the show. I left, thoroughly impressed, not just because it was beautiful, but because it was under an hour's drive from Atlanta, eliminating that whole pesky north GA travel for good falls. Will be back soon! read more

I have never seen anyone swim here. I'm not sure if that is allowed.
