I have been hitting this trail at least once a week for the past 6 months, and I STILL love it! The views are great, it's quiet, it's not overcrowded, it's very clean, and is an all-around great outdoor experience.
What you'll see:
- In addition to great views, you'll encounter many friendly bikers, walkers, and runners (no motor vehicles allowed).
Note: In the early mornings (6 AM to 10 AM), some dog owners like to run/walk with their dogs unleashed, so if this is a problem for you, hit the trail a little bit later.
- Among the wildlife, other than the extremely commonplace Atlanta fauna, on rare occasions you'll see: chipmunks, blue herons, rabbits, beavers, deer, moles, rats, and snakes. When I would hit the trail daily, I would see 1 or 2 of these a week and they never came close to me.
-Part of the trail runs alongside the Chattahoochee, and so people will fish or simply sit by the water. You can also bring your boat/skid to the end of the trail for access to the river.
- Though the summer is just starting, during the winter and the spring, I did not have an issue with gnats or other bugs pestering me while outside.
- If you're looking for flowers, you won't find too many here. But if you love water, there is plenty of it! Including a waterfall towards the Strayer University building.
- This trail is directly accessible for many of the apartment complexes in the area (e.g. Rosemont Vinings Ridge, Vinings Palisades, etc...) and is definitely a perk for moving to these complexes.
All in all, I highly recommend this trail for anyone looking to have a nice run, walk, or biking session outdoors! read more
