Nice views of Rottenwood creek along the Bob Callan Trail. You get to walk under 285 on the pathway, be sure to look for artwork near this area. Lots of bridges crossing the creek along the way. Clean and not too crowded. Folks of all ages on the trail. We go here about once a month and walk 5-6 miles including extra trails. Occasionally will take side trail into West Pallisades. Conveniently located and definitely worth a stop if you are an outdoors person.

The first 1hr is free! After 1hr it is only 3$. I was done in 50 mins and that is including a restroom break! Please make sure to bring hand sanitizer for your bike handles! They have baskets on the front of them to put your belongings in. The ladies room had Dial hand soap. The silver button on the wall is a hand dryer. Tissues inside stall. Not sure about the other ones or if they had a baby station at the big stall. My only concern was the doors being open to the bathrooms. The big trash cans had them propped open and I get it (due to "Covid") but I wanted some more privacy especially when this cute guy was standing by his bike literally across the bathroom door! And I was not going to move that big trash can. Only reason I rated this UPDATED review a 4 out of 5. Some of the trees limbs were hanging over the trails in certain parts. Causing a brief slow down during the trails busiest times on nice days. I went between 4:30-6p today. Now I'm off, to my post work out recovery activities, follow me here on YELP to my next adventures in the A & other cities!

Millennium Gate Museum was a complete waste of time and money on our most recent trip to Atlanta…read more Coming from Tennessee, I felt this would be a unique and similar experience to the Parthenon Replica in Nashville complete with curated exhibits, art galleries, statues, and a park. However, the entire experience was lacking and felt like a dated, run down tourist trap. Upon arrival the actual monument is beautiful. The park is pretty and has nice views of the city. We paid for admission to the museum which is $12 for General Admission and $10 for Students. Even with the student discount, this felt like an overreach for what we got out of the experience. There was only one worker and there were no other patrons in the museum this day AT ALL. It was very quiet and awkward. The indoor galleries consisted primarily of a long hallway with antique furniture with pictures of random people from Atlanta. The gallery was primarily pictures (that I could see online for free) with descriptions and did not contain many actual artifacts or items to look at. The few cases had weird assortments of items such as plates, buttons, and kitchen utensils. It felt like I was looking through the remains of a yard sale, with many items not even having descriptions. Overall the exhibit did not feel very curated, but rather felt like an odd assortment of someone's old junk put on display. We were unable to see the rooftop conservatory that was advertised online with pretty views of the parks. I feel this should be excluded from the website and marketing for General Admission if it is not accessible and staffed properly. The outdoor spaces are pretty; however, these could be visited for free outside of museum admission and did not require payment. Overall the entire museum took approximately 20 minutes to walk through, and left us feeling scammed. It was awkward walking past the one worker after we quickly walked through what little the museum had to offer. I would not recommend this to anyone and will skip this on our next trip to Atlanta.

It piqued and I decided to take a closer look and it turned out to be a history museum! I wandered in and it was deserted so was unsure of how it was going to be. It turned out to be a beautiful but small museum with a lot of interesting artifacts from Georgia/US history, WWII and also has fragments from the Bodmer Papyrus (worth Googling) There were also a lot of moving letters on display about a board member who had recently passed, Asa Candler VI (descendant of the Coco-Cola founder). Based on the letters, he was a truly wonderful man who had an amazing life and touched a lot of people positively. Condolences to the family.

But this review, I must write about the amazing service. It's not limited to the dining room, folks. Recently I picked up dinner for my family, but my car's (new!) battery died in the parking lot. What the heck? I was stuck. I popped into OVI to let staff know my car would be there until we could fix it. The general manager, Tara, immediately offered a jump. She went above and beyond to help me get to the battery, which wasn't under the hood after all. (I was so hungry and overwhelmed, I forgot it is in the back of the car behind the spare tire.) She didn't care about getting her hands dirty or all the time she was spending on me. Nope, she didn't bat an eye. Calm and collected, she knew exactly what to do and quickly got my car started. What a lifesaver! Old Vinings Inn has good food and GREAT people!

The flourless chocolate cake for dessert was decadent. Would definitely book another special event at this location.

In addition to serving as the actual residence of the Governor and the First Family, it's also a lovely house museum, home to one of the country's finest collections of Federal period antique furniture, and the host of many free community events and celebrations. In short, it's a hidden treasure that more Georgians should know about and take advantage of. First, as a house museum, the Mansion is open for free public tours throughout the year on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 10:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. If your group is smaller than ten people, you can simply just show up. Yep, just drive straight up to that big gate on West Paces Ferry. If your group is a large one, simply call to make a reservation. The Mansion is usually closed for a period after Christmas to decorate for the holiday, but then opens up for additional hours during the month of December. And it's during Christmas that you definitely want to tour - the decorations are simply stunning, contributed by some of the top florists and interior designers in the state. The tour is mostly self guided, but there are volunteer docents stationed in each room. Some of them may not offer information, so make sure to come with questions, because once you get them talking, you will see that they are truly the carriers of this home's fabulous history. Many of them have been volunteering at the Mansion under several gubernatorial administrations, and the stories they have are fascinating. There are also several big events that take place at the Mansion each year that are free and open to the public. The Christmas Tree Lighting and the Easter Egg Hunt are my two favorites. Both are totally free, but the Easter Egg Hunt does require a reservation (yes, the kids actually get to hunt and take home eggs filled with treats!), so check the website in the spring for the date and reservation information. The Mansion is a treasure of this state and is truly the people's house, which makes it as good as it gets.
