In the neoclassical Renaissance revival style, it has 4 floors, housing government offices and legislative chambers. The first floor is for security and other offices. On the second floor, executive offices and the rotunda can be found. It has an open rotunda that has marble staircases on each side. Busts of statesmen are also on this floor. The third floor houses the legislative chambers. The Georgia State Museum is on the fourth floor. Two dioramas that were shown in the World's Fair in early 1900s held in New York were preserved and shown there. Overall, it was underwhelming. There was really not much to see and it was not as grand compared to other state capitols. Homelessness is also evident in the surrounding area. You can skip this and spend your time on other places like the aquarium and Coke museum.

It took me a while to get around to writing a review for my "home" bridge, the 17th Street Bridge in Midtown Atlanta. It connects Atlantic Station and West Midtown (Westside) to the east side of Midtown. As a Midtown resident since 2000 and an original Atlantic Station homeowner since 2005, I watched as this bridge was constructed and it became a part of my daily life when it opened. The east-west bridge opened in 2004, spanning 20+ lanes of interstate (Atlanta's Downtown Connector: I-75 and I-85). The bridge is wide, featuring 6 vehicular lanes (3 in either direction) and 2 bike lanes. The sidewalks are very wide, especially the sidewalk on the north side. There are minimal "benches" and landscaping/plants. I put benches in quotes because the structures really aren't traditional benches that you can sit or lay on, but more like cylinders that you can really only lean on. There are no waste baskets or anything like that. It's mostly just concrete. I guess the Georgia Department of Transportation didn't want people loitering on the bridge. There's fencing on either side. In 2011, nearly 200 feet of fencing fell on to the interstate below (https://www.ajc.com/news/local/downtown-connector-reopens-after-17th-street-bridge-railings-fall/eGFlI2gH7jlHViZAcIbTXO/). Luckily, no one was hurt. An investigation revealed that defective industrial-strength glue used on the fence's anchor bolts was the cause of the collapse (https://www.wsbtv.com/news/report-defective-epoxy-blame-17th-st-bridge-fencin/242643269). The bridge is a popular place for people to take photos of the Midtown and Downtown Atlanta skyline. People also like to gather on the bridge when there are fireworks for New Year's and Independence Day. Local TV news stations, particularly nearby WGCL-TV (CBS 46), like to use the bridge and its scenic city backdrop to broadcast and record news segments. The sidewalks are spacious and wide enough for news vans to hop the curb and park on them. This bridge is the gateway to Atlantic Station for those coming from the nearest MARTA train station (Arts Center Station). The bridge is part of the Atlantic Station Shuttle's loop between Arts Center Station to the east and IKEA to the west (the shuttle runs daily and is free to the public). While not as visually appealing as metro Atlanta interstate bridges built or renovated after 2004, the 17th Street Bridge (aside from the fencing snafu in 2011) has always been clean, in good condition, functional, and useful with overall good traffic flow. Uniquely, the bridge is painted bright yellow. If I recall correctly, the reason why it's painted yellow is because there was a vote for which color the bridge should be painted and yellow won.

You will find many people taking pictures here for fun and even for modeling purposes. I enjoy passing by in the daytime and at night as well. There is fencing along the bridge that is now turning into one of those promise bridges with the locks on the links. I am excited for more people to cross over and catch a glimpse of the city from this angle.

As I walked up to the building I noticed the cute little park that is adjacent to the property. This park is the perfect place to stop, relax and gather your thoughts before heading into court. I noticed that on the south side of the building, there is a drive-thru where you can just drive up and pay your fines and fees. Genius! Upon entering the building, you will notice the sunshine streaming in from the massive windows and the cushioned seating beckoning you to have a seat. I love the sweeping stairway that leads up to the planning department and other offices. This building is tastefully decorated in an inviting manner. It was obviously designed with warmth and comfort in mind. You can easily stroll around the building and explore the various departments without disruption. In the upstairs hallway, you will find a display of memorabilia and awards that have been presented to the the city. The people who work here are warm, friendly and inviting. What a pleasure!

You can walk through and check out the diverse grounds or set up a picnic in one of the open grassy areas. I've seen people biking here as well. They also hold events here, both ticketed and not ticketed. We did a free tour during Atlanta Science Week that was amazing. It lasted over an hour and the guide took time to answer all of our questions. The theme was around how they maintain the stones and grounds. There are other tours on other topics, but some are paid. The gift shop is cute too and everyeon is so friendly. There is security and they do have operating hours, so check those before you come.

Several different parking areas, we like to…read morego to the one on the south end off Cobb Pkwy as it huge and never full, this entrance also has bathrooms and can be used for access to CNRA West Pallisades. Nice views of Rottenwood creek along the Bob Callan Trail. You get to walk under 285 on the pathway, be sure to look for artwork near this area. Lots of bridges crossing the creek along the way. Clean and not too crowded. Folks of all ages on the trail. We go here about once a month and walk 5-6 miles including extra trails. Occasionally will take side trail into West Pallisades. Conveniently located and definitely worth a stop if you are an outdoors person.

Not sure about the other ones or if they had a baby station at the big stall. My only concern was the doors being open to the bathrooms. The big trash cans had them propped open and I get it (due to "Covid") but I wanted some more privacy especially when this cute guy was standing by his bike literally across the bathroom door! And I was not going to move that big trash can. Only reason I rated this UPDATED review a 4 out of 5. Some of the trees limbs were hanging over the trails in certain parts. Causing a brief slow down during the trails busiest times on nice days. I went between 4:30-6p today. My experience visiting it: I took my husband and a friend - the three of us each lost someone really close to us. Back in the 1800's Roswell's settlers came here thanks to the smooth flow of the Vickery Creek…read morewhich was used to power what became the South's largest Cotton Mill until the Civil War. The mill produced all sorts of textiles and yarns. The bridge is a much more modern addition, built by the Vickery Creek Unit of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area, to join Old Mill Park to six miles of hiking trails. The bridge is pedestrian only and on the far side are staircases that go both down to the creek side and up to the hiking trails. While the mill side of the bridge is handicapped access (though the slope may be a challenge for wheelchair users to climb) and the bridge is smooth, the far side is absolutely not paved or even. If you ask me, someone has died over there or the water is contaminated with a disease and they are trying to prevent everyone from entering, and I have been coming here for one year constantly and it has never got this bad. If you are looking for a place to relax and not be bothered or you want to just simply be by water do not go here. It's a lot of more natural places around Atlanta also.
