I wasn't ready But…read morewho could be ready for a miniature chair collection that was so unique that the Guinness book of records had to make a category for this specific passion? When a few of us were wandering around main street in Stone mountain exploring, we came across a sign that said mini chair museum this way. After doing some searching and asking for directions, we found the small little unassuming house with Ms. Barbara Hartfield, the Chair woman herself! The front room has a decent amount of chairs to see, but you if you want to get into the museum (and you should), it's $5 for single entry, and $4 for a group. If you're lucky enough, you'll get a walking tour of the museum like we did, from Ms. Hartfield, who was very happy and eager to explain all of the chairs and displays. The museum consists of three main rooms (don't forget to check the bathroom for more chairs!) and have chairs from all over the world, featuring chairs that she had placed/displayed categorically in alphabetical order. I could go into the types of chairs you'll see here, but to do that would be a multi page review, so i'll leave the photos to speak for me. If there's a type of chair you like, trust me when I tell you, Ms. Hartfield has it. To get a peak at their collection, check out their website too: www.museumofminiaturechairs.com Beyond chairs, there's several cutouts of articles written about the collection from different parts of the world that are placed on the walls throughout the museum, which document the history of her growing collection. In her front room, the Guinness world record is proudly displayed also. The museum is open only on Fridays and Saturdays but has been around for 7 years! While there is no parking on main street (where the Collectibles and Antique chair gallery resides), it does have parking in the rear, though from some of the smaller shops, it's an easy walk. If you want to see a particular chair up close, don't be afraid to ask, as Ms. Hartfield will happily open the glass cases and allow you to hold them. I never got the history of where the chair fascination began, but it's impressive, with a series of chairs large (cookie jars) and small (thimble size)...just don't mistake them for dollhouse furniture and you'll stay on the good side of this collecting queen. Very interesting one of a kind museum and shop that I guarantee you also aren't ready for...but that's the point of places like this, right? Go check it out, give Ms Hartfield some business and be a part of this one of a kind show!

I've been here before for one of the Halloween events, but this day in particular I was here to actually enjoy the park in broad daylight and not at night. This is definitely the place to get a good workout in. You can walk around the mountain, which is a 5 mile walk or you can walk up the mountain which is 1 mile up. Honey, let me tell you that 1 mile up is not a joke, but you feel so good once you get to accomplish it and see all the other people attending to walk up the mountain. This is a experience for all age groups. The elderly were out there. The young was out there. The middle age was out there. Everyone was there having a good time, exercising and getting in a good stroll in the park. The Rangers are also out in the park for any assistance that you need as well. I thought I was gonna need them plenty of time when I attempted to go up the mountain, but I did just fine and I survived. I prefer to go around the mountain in the 5 mile walk where you see lots of people either on bikes, skates or walking their dog or pushing their kids in strollers it's a great experience and a good walk especially after the weather is decent. Now because I had such a good time, I have to look into getting a pass

We went mid April and unfortunately everything but that was closed. :/ we would have loved to experience the splash pad and more! The actual waterfront was open as well to enjoy. My family and I have been coming to the this festival for over 10 years now. So it's a tradition for us. This festival has been voted one of the top arts and craft shows in the nation. There's always music playing from bandsl One of my favorite booths to go to is the Bubba's Sweet Tea, I bought a tin mug years ago and bring it back every year for a refill of sweet tea for only a dollar. There's plenty booths that sell food and snacks. There's lots of things to see, unique crafts, scented handmade candles, handmade soaps wood crafts, etc. I've made friends with a few of the vendors, we may not remember each other's names but we definitely recognize each other from year to year. It's four days of wonderful fun, rain or shine it's going on. One of my favorite times is when it rained cats and dogs, it did not stop the fun one bit. There's plenty of well organized parking all over the park. Lots of police officers directing traffic. I feel very safe even though there's huge crowds of people everywhere. There are free shuttle busses transporting people to their cars the entire time. There's live music too! You can come here and load up on kettle popcorn, Greek gyros, ice cream and gifts for everyone! I can't wait til next year's festival.

This gives you time to prepare; use the restroom etc. We brought our own Clicquot to drink, the only thing they ask was for us to buy spill proof cups, which were $10 a piece, which I felt was fair, because most companies won't allow you to BYOB lol. Upon arrival the greeter at the front desk was very pleasant and smiling, I didn't get her name but she was sweet :-) !! We had the 30 minute, Buckhead/Downtown tour. Cody flew us through Downtown, Buckhead, and the Perimeter area near the King & Queen Building & Perimeter Mall Very great tour, our ride was smooth and steady !! I also appreciate that they reminded us to tip the pilots, and they can take credit card tips at the end in case you don't have cash! We got the anniversary special, which includes champagne and a 15 minute ride that we scheduled. Unfortunately, the company booked over our appointment and did not let us know in the confirmation. It ended up working out because I called ahead (so be sure to do that!), but I think that they should have been more clear in the confirmation in case I hadn't called ahead. Also, they forgot to give us our champagne, though we were not early for the helicopter flight due to the fact that our original time was supposed to be later (and this mistake was never acknowledged). Also, with the company knowing this was a special occasion, this was never acknowledged which would have been nice. Overall, you get a solid helicopter ride and a good time, but I don't feel like the logistics are all there.
