    Atlanta Helicopters on Lake Lanier

I have known the owner of this business for 7 years or so. I met him through aviation and we have trained together, traveled together, invested together, spent family time together, etc. Al is a top notch person who I consider as a brother. Another reviewer left a review about "chronic tardiness." ... A lot of times, when people are training or have signed up for a tour, they don't understand the dynamics behind aviation. Especially with helicopters. Planning a flight has multiple facets; weather, airworthiness of the helicopter, the attitude and mental state of instructor and student / pilot and occupants and more. This reviewer seems like he thinks the world should revolve around his time, when in fact, you can't trade time for safety. It looks like Al was trying to plan a safe flight, not rush, and make sure this guy was safe when flying. Al is a great instructor and business owner and nobody should rely on this guys review as accurate.

I bought this in December 2016, and did the flight April 2018. We were long distance so we had been trying to plan this when he would visit. The weather was unfortunate every time, so we had to keep rescheduling. The staff here was so helpful and quick to respond in rescheduling our flight a number of times. We got to the office by PDK airport and we were greeted by the staff. They were very welcoming. He was able to do a flight simulator prior to flying. We met up with Spencer, who would be flying with us. He was very nice and a great teacher in walking through the steps of checking everything before you fly and how to actually fly the plane. He allowed my boyfriend to do most of the flying, but he was right there in case he would've had to step in or takeover with his own controls. The tour of the city was awesome and my boyfriend loved it once his nerves subsided! The weather was perfect and we went around sunset. I was so happy I got to ride along while we flew to experience it also. This would be a great date night and I would totally do this again! My boyfriend was talking about wanting his pilot license now that he did that. If you're interested in seeing what it's like to fly, you should definitely check this out!

Absolutely amazing. The instructor was great and friendly, and aircraft was modern and up-to-date.read more

They use an online scheduling app for lessons, so you are always in the know on getting your time slots set up with the correct flight instructor and aircraft. Speaking of instructors and staff, Brady Houser has been a superb flight instructor, and Ansley does a great job at the front desk and handling anything we need. It's great working with a team with professionalism and a good dose of humor. I also appreciate the fact that they keep their aircraft and hangar in such tip top shape. You always feel safe and taken care of. You can tell that these folks care about their reputation, and they go the extra mile. Give these guys a shot if you are looking for flight training or to rent an aircraft.

Beat The Bomb - Other Games

    Beat The Bomb

Beat the Bomb is such a fun, interactive experience! I came with my boyfriend and we had no idea…read morewhat to expect - the structure of the game is that you play 4 mini games that last 10 minutes each. The better you do in these mini games, the more time you're awarded to "beat the bomb". After you go through your 4 games, you suit up into the hazmat looking suits, step into a room with all the paint, and you have as much time as you've accrued over your mini games to beat the bomb! If you don't beat the bomb, you'll definitely get splashed with the paint, but if you do beat the bomb, you get the option to get splashed or not (but why would you ever pass on getting splashed???) How I see it, the mini games are split into 2 categories - 2/4 games require more brain and memory, and 2/4 games are more active. They alternate them, thankfully! My only complaint is that the wristband scanners in one of the rooms (the audio/visual room on the left side) felt a little jank. We had to attempt to scan multiple times before it would read. Teams are minimum of 2, maximum of 6, so ideal for a date activity, a small group of friends, or a family! It was so fun to receive our photos and videos back! I'm glad that this is included in the base price, as usually getting any type of photo/video back is an upcharge. Would highly recommend this unique experience

Very fun experience but unfortunately the customer service was left to be desired…read more We showed up 20 minutes early for our reservation as instructed in the intro email, but we ended up waiting 1.75 hours for our spot in addition to the initial 20min. A heads up would have been really good bc we had plans after but had to cancel them. One of the rooms weren't working (our 2nd game) and one of the staff told me we would have to come out of the experience and wait another 30 minutes if we wanted to get it fixed bc there were other groups right behind us. That was a weird response and solution. Then a nice male staff member saw us waiting and said "oh that's silly, I'll hook yall up" and fixed it for us so we could continue. Shout out to him for just doing what was logical but also being nice about it. At the end of the experience, we waited 30m for our video to pop up and never got it. We ended up getting another groups video. The staff said to just email HQ. I emailed them and never heard back. So what should have been a 1hr event turned into a a cumulative 4+ hr event. The concept was great and I'm sure other groups have a great experience, but they were battin pretty low on the day we came through.
