    The pizza...
    John D.

What is not to like about this place. Tucked on a back street of Hazleton. Ordered a 8 cut with meatball, a mini salad, and cheese fries with gravy on the side. Not fresh cut fries, but these were the good frozen type and the were good. Salad was excellent, dressing is very good. Pizza with meatballs and the Scamutz cheese. Wow.... I was happy we had leftover pizza for lunch the next day. 3 of us to eat for under $40.... Win Will be back for sure!!!

While the food is pretty good, it is not worth the wait. Service is marginal. Well over 1.5 hours once we finally got to place our order. Food came out sporadically, or not at all. If you go out to dinner with someone don't expect your food at the same time. The Sandwich ordered came out wrong, but my consolation was they left the fries for me to enjoy while I waited for the corrected version. They do leave the incorrect meal, I guess so they don't have to offer a discount or take it off the bill. Next time, which won't be for a while, I'll just cancel my order and go else where. Back again 10/03/18 ...ordered beers while we waited fo our anniversary pizza. One glass definitely bigger that the other. Bartender said they were the same amount/price. I called bullshit and we shared my husband's beer then poured the shorter glass n the taller, see pix...hmmmmmm

Chili cheese fries with a scamutz and sausage pizza from rosta's
    Gabe M.

At first glance, Rosta's appears to be an establishment that has not done any renovations for the last 20 years. I found the service to be marginal. The food was eh... and by "eh" it is nothing to rave about. I found the sauce on the pizza to be runny and the flavor to be palatable, but not memorable. The chili cheese fries were alright. The prices seem a touch high for the quality of food and service. Bottom line: If I had a friend who came from out of town and was looking for a place to have lunch or dinner in town, I would not send them to Rosta's.

We sensed that it used to be a bistro bar that turned to a spot with option for real food. There was a line when we walked . We were on right timing to get seats . The food served to us did not disappoint. We enjoyed each one's choices. Sashimi, bento box, sushi, hibachi meats, noodles and rice were tasty. There are work of arts spread throughout the restaurant that were eye catching. Local artists inspirational works has high pricing tag. It's a plus for visiting and dining in here.

I ordered shrimp and scallop hibachi and it was incredibly oily and greasy, and the portion of shrimp and scallops was tiny. My friend also got hibachi and felt the same way. My salad was watery, and the clear mushroom soup tasted very strange. I couldn't take more than a bite of either the soup or the salad. For my entree, asked the server if I could please have extra vegetables instead of noodles, and she said that there was a "language barrier" in the kitchen, so she didn't want to ask that. I thought that was an odd comment for her to make. My daughter ordered some sushi rolls and liked them, and my husband and our friend also liked their sushi; so maybe sushi is a better choice here. The place is small and to echo other reviewers, tables are very crammed together and you will bump in to other people just by moving around. The place is cool looking on the inside and outside, definitely an interesting vibe, and they have a full bar. We did have to ask multiple times about the status of our beverages (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic). My drink was not good, it was a sake/lemon drop hybrid type of thing and it was insanely sweet - I couldn't finish it.

We found this place because I was looking for somewhere I could get a beer and walk out and around the town of Jim Thorpe (I believe they allow it here). But ended up staying for the vibes and plus we were super hungry. I wish I remembered our waitresses name but I believe she had pink in her hair. She allowed me and my girlfriend to sample some beers that she thought we would like because we were hesitant and what to order. We got the sangria sour beer and the white ale which were perfect for us. We also saw online that everyone loved the smash burger so we had to try it. We added truffle fries for 3 dollars which was so worth it. Some of the best fries we have ever had. Also I think we decided it was the best smash burger we have ever had. We both have never tried bacon jam and we were a bit hesitant about the pimento cheese as well. I think my favorite moment from this trip was sitting at the bar here and eating this meal. Plus the burger lived up to the hype. Thank you to the waitress we had you made our day!

We visit Jim Thorpe annually and were excited to try this place given its vegan options. When we entered the restaurant, the set-up was a little confusing. They did seat us pretty quickly though, and the service was probably the only positive to this experience. My husband and I both ordered cocktails; he had the Manhattan while I had a special vodka drink they were offering that day. Our drinks were overall fine but not anything special. My husband's Manhattan was very basic tasting. The menu and the food were the worst parts. The menu is unnecessarily long and phony sounding, like they are trying to be quirky but just come across as fake and condescending. There's extra, unnecessary description of the food that makes the menu difficult and frankly annoying to review. We ordered the bread teaser as well as the hummus. The pesto and the hummus were basic store level quality. The bread was definitely undercooked. For our entrees, we ordered the Cleopatra salad and a pasta dish. The salad tasted fine enough but it was basically just romaine lettuce with a very light dusting of nutritional yeast, vegan cheese, and a very low amount of chickpeas/protein. The pasta was an absolute travesty. It was extremely oily, flavorless, and bland. To top it all off, the food is extremely expensive! They have absolutely no business charging that much. The interior of the place is also a waste of space. It doesn't make any sense that it calls itself a pub. There's also stupid decor everywhere, including a sign that says "no" leading out to an employee-only location. I guess that's supposed to be funny but just comes across as condescending. It's a shame that this place has such a good location with Jim Thorpe and apparently can make a pretty penny serving subpar food and weird vibes. Don't waste your money.

Tons of events and trivia in their schedule for folks looking for a night out on weekdays or weekends. The interior is mildly psychedelic with music. The food was fine. We got the burger and nachos. I was between giving 3 and 4 stars. Service was slow but the venue was busy, there was an event, and the night crew was picking up when we were there. The buffalo chicken nachos were fine. We appreciated the crispiness of the tortilla chips and the excellent cheese sauce that was well-distributed on the chips. There was tomato among other veggies that I do not remember. The chicken was fine for me on a cut. However, it had the texture of boiled chicken which I wasn't a huge fan of. Still had to get my protein in. I really enjoyed the burger. The bun was a soft potato roll. The patty was a little cooler. Between a cold burger and soggy nachos I certainly would choose the cool burger. This was made up for with the large volume of burger that was deliciously crispy. The pickles accompanied the burger with a secret mayo-based burger sauce. If warm, it could be a 5/5 burger. Overall, the experience was fine. I would go here on a week day rather than 6 on Friday, though.

I would say that this is probably the best deep dish pizza that I've tried in a while and I used to live in the Midwest. The crust was super crunchy and very buttery, which is great. You could definitely taste a jar of the cheese on the side and the crispiness of the bottom of the crust not only that, but I felt like the toppings were just amount of flavor. There was onions on there. There was corn on there. It just felt very very hearty. it's definitely heavy dish but it hits a spot if you're looking for a deep dish pizza they did it very well. I would definitely come back for this steep dish pizza and honestly, I could only get through two slices on my own definitely enough for two people to eat comfortably and not that expensive too was 13 bucks
