It also happens to be across the parking lot from the coworking space I work at. It's convenient, but it's also a tad dangerous if you know what I mean... Calgary Heritage Roasters has it all! The building they're in is beautifully rustic and offers a lovely sit down atmosphere. Their staff are as warm as can be and go above and beyond when it comes to service. Every part of this place is welcoming! And the coffee, oh the coffee! For sure one of the best in Calgary. Here's a quick review on what I've ordered... RATING: 9/10 - Americano This is my go-to, no fail coffee order. The espresso is strong and smooth and makes the perfect americano. RATING: 9/10 - Dirty Chai I get one of these when I'm feeling a bit naughty... the best treat. A dirty chai is a chai latte with a shot of espresso. The chai flavor mixed with the espresso from CHRC is a match made in heaven. If you're looking for an extreme pick-me-up caffeine buzz, you need to order yourself a dirty chai. This is a favourite for my sister and everyone I work with. At the end of the day, CHRC is an absolute gem of a cafe. If you're in the Ramsey, Inglewood area, it is 100% worth a stop.

Sought x Found has quietly become one of the best coffeehouses in the country…read more I hadn't been in many months, but I had the pleasure of a visit a few days ago and- wow. First, SxF now is its own roaster and they take it SERIOUSLY, with many rare options and it's all carefully curated, and the staff knows its stuff. I love how your options are espresso and "espresso with milk" in four sizes. Moreover you have a choice from, when I was there, six different espressos- yes, now, Q.Lab does the same thing, but with full respect to Q.Lab, SxF is its own roaster (Q.Lab sources from several different local roasters) and is a lot more luxurious, with rare beans that are distinctive. I got a "small" (this'd be a cortado or piccolo at most other shops), at 4.5 ounces, and chose an anaerobic process, single-origin option for the espresso portion and the flavour notes checked out- it was "boozy" and fascinating, and the milk was PERFECTLY steamed and at a PERFECT temperature. The whole experience was very special. Now, I'd not get that coffee every time, it's a $3 premium on top of the very-reasonable base charge of $4.50, with which you get the standard house espresso, but for once in a while this is a memorable experience. This is the place to take out-of-town guests who don't know what a world-class coffee scene we are blessed with in Calgary.

Not five stars, ten if available. Sure, there are TONS of espresso places in this general…read moreneighborhood, and most of them are of the type most commonly associated with the coffee shop/espresso culture: airy interior, nice lighting, corporate vibe, you get the idea. The Roasterie is kind of like a high end coffee shop owned by hoarders. But wait... I'll just say it: in decades of loving fine espresso shots, I think they serve up the very finest I've ever had. And then I asked for a black house coffee, something with Sumatra like flavors. They recommended a blend that again, probably one of the top 10 cups of black I've consumed. Can they do it more than once? Yep, I returned a second day and they did it again. The roasting is going on inside the shop, and it's clearly run by mad men who have sold their souls to the devil of coffee. If you're looking for a scene and hipster surroundings (and hey, I like that too), move on. If you're looking for a cup of coffee to remember for a long time, this is the destination I'd recommend.
