Often order Rosso beans for home use from the US. My In-store experience often lets me down. They do not have featured espressos in store, only their two-wheel. They use Oatley oat milk which drowns out the flavor. Their sizes of drinks are quite large, 12 or 16oz. I ordered their traditional 8oz cappuccino but was still asked what size I want. There was no line to get in the coffee shop; there was no line to order. The wait to get our drinks was very short. The HOT LATTE tasted great and was fortifying. The space is large and welcoming. I came here around 9:30am on a Friday and it was not too busy. I ordered a sweet latte and it was good, not overly sweet and the milk was steamed sooo smooth and good. My husband got a seasonal pour over and was very happy with it. They also had lots of yummy looking pastries, but I didn't try any. We got street parking and walked a little bit. read more

9.2 clicks. That's the distance the Joe and sandwiches have to travel if we order delivery from Rosso. That doesn't factor in if we aren't the driver's 1st stop. Even with the distance and cooling off factored in - Rosso's is worth it. I prefer Rosso coffee to the ubiquitous Green Mermaid, by a mile! The Biscuits in the Breakfast Sandwich are scrumptious. (I prefer a slice of tomato and crisp lettuce leaf added to make the Wich less dry if having at home.) We walked into this little cafe and roster and immediately were greeted not only by the joyful smell off coffee but by a very friendly and helpful barista. The display of available coffee beans and teas was prominently displayed and the prices were clearly marked. As with any independent roaster you are paying more than you would for a can of Folgers but I promise the flavour will offset the cost. I visited Calgary and have heard great things about the coffee scene so I had to check out a few of the local cafes. Rosso was on my list and they did not disappoint. I met an Incredibly kind and knowledgeable barista who made me a delicious pour over (day Tripper) which is a light, floral/fruity coffee with slightly acidity after tones but nice and bright way to start the day. I wanted to try another roast that was on drip before I bought a bag and she was kind enough to give me a free sample. That's customer service- I ended up buying another bag - that small gesture went a long way! I'll definitely be coming back here on my next trip to Calgary! Highly recommend if you're looking for a cute and welcoming environment with some excellent coffee! read more

After well over a decade of cupping cappuccinos at Rosso, at all their locations over the years, this has come to a close. A traditional cappuccino is a 5 oz or 6 oz cup since the day it was invented. Now, either Jessie, Cole, or David chose to switch to 8 oz cups, which I discovered at Tuxedo last weekend. An 8 oz cup holds more milk and dilutes the extraction and, simply put, it ceases to be a traditional cappuccino. I was told to ask each time for less milk. Why should I have to ask for something to be served properly? Fortunately there are two homegrown cafes that still uphold tradition, Phil & Sebastian and Monogram, the latter owned by a world class barista champion. I will now have to travel farther, but it will be worth it. The 8 oz espresso based drink was not a bad drink; it just wasn't a traditional cappuccino. Rosso has been a long time favourite of mine. So much in fact, that there are very few beans I'll buy for home consumption. But when I'm out or when I need someone who actually knows what they're doing around an espresso machine to make me something nice, you can bet I'll search for my nearest Rosso first. It just so happens this one's in my neighbourhood. I'd love to give them 5 stars, but the space isn't big enough. It's not Rosso's fault, that's just how big the space was built. I want to settle with a coffee and my laptop for a morning without feeling like I'm stealing a table from another local there to happily meet their friends for coffee. But the space is what it is... and so I don't spend endless hours here. Instead, I stop in, usually on my way by with my pup, grab my joe to go and continue on. (Dear Rosso, if you ever took over a little house down the road on Edmonton trail a ways that has been a few different restaurants... I'd set up shop and drink my weight in espresso to pay my table rent). PS... my mom swears by their Earl Grey tea. I'm not allowed to come home without a fresh jar of the tea leaves for here! read more

Worst manager I have ever encountered in my life. There was a lunch rush with one employee doing everything, while the manager literally sat at the bar on her computer. I felt terrible for the employee and the customers were all left waiting. This manager let her employee struggle and had no regard for her customers whatsoever! Loved the atmosphere and decorations. I got a chai soy latte and it tasted pretty decent. It did not have any latte art of any kind on it. I also wished the chai taste could have been stronger and the actual drink hotter ( it was more warm than hot ) I saw a dog bowl inside the place and so I brought my two mini dogs in and was told to have them outside. Although the barista did come and tell me in a pleasant manner it still made me a little upset because the bowl was deceiving. read more

Great study space! I ordered their sweet latte with lactose-free milk. Their quality and service are great! The barista even brought the drink to me. There are a few downsides: it's pricey with ordering the 16 Oz. plus the fee for lactose-free milk, their high chairs have a low backside so remember don't lean back! And although there's a lot of natural night, there aren't any blinds that help block some of the light which makes laptop users like myself difficult to see the screen without a glare. I visited Rosso while visiting Calgary from abroad for the first time-- and it is wicked! The coffee and food (including the soups) are delicious and fairly priced. There's a great assortment of products you can buy off the shelf from cups to mugs to freshly roasted coffee beans. The shack also has speedy wi-fi which is a huge plus and when paired with the expansive seating options and fabulous ambiance, it makes for a great spot to work from. Things I tried & liked: Chai Latte - The latte was impeccably crafted and was just about what you'd expect from a chai latte. Things I tried & disliked: Thai Chicken Soup - While the soup tasted pretty decent, it was just far too salty. I couldn't get myself to finish it. read more

Even though I searched for an organic coffee shop near me; and this place showed up on the search - There's no organic coffee or coconut milk at this shop. Also no stevia. I'm allergic to dairy and the nut milks (almond, cashew) so it wasn't great that I had to drink the coffee black. read more

I'm a big fan of Rosso and loved the Ramsay and Inglewood locations when I was living in the SE. I'm so happy we have one in the mount pleasant/tuxedo area. This location is cute, the coffee and baked goods are wonderful and the staff is always warm and friendly. read more

What a beautiful, modern space! Staple coffee shop drinks and lots of gluten free treat options. There is side street parking and a couple of extra spots in back. A wonderful place to get a bit of work done outside of the office or hang out with friends. The plant wall! Swoon. read more
