We've had good luck with Rossi. Getting your car serviced is an exercise in trust. Neighbors recommended this location. We started with an oil change and have had other work done here since. The staff have been great letting us know what work needs to be done, how much it will cost, what they recommend going forward and so on. We had an issue that we just couldn't figure out for the longest time. They recommended we change out the water pump. We didn't do it right away and low and behold, the water pump blew. That was the problem. We actually had the car in three different shops trying to figure out what the noise was and although Rossi did not pinpoint the problem they did see the water pump was on it's last legs. That's more than the other two shops did. We towed the car to Rossi's for the repair work. I can't say they are the cheapest (you get what you pay for) but they seem knowledgeable and that's what you want in a mechanic right? It's a small garage, and we often have to wait a week or two for an appointment, so plan ahead if you can. read more

I have taken my car here twice and was very pleased with the service. They were able to get me on the schedule rather quickly and they were able to diagnose the problem right away. I would definitely take my car here again as they were able to fix my car and do the state inspection on time. Great service! They had to change my catalytic converter, change an exhaust pipe, and fabricate and weld some exhaust pieces in, which saved me from replacing my exhaust system from the catalytic converter. I thought the price was reasonable for the job. If you're someone who is offended by some swearing, I suggest you bring some earmuffs while you are in the waiting room. This place is just amazing. The service is top notch and they never repair it unless it need to be repaired. E.g., no need to replace an exhaust system if you can weld it. They do not take advantage of peoples automotive ignorance nor do they take advantage of the ladies. My wife is over the moon with this place because of the respect they show her and the time they take to speak 'to' her and not 'at' her. They work on foreign and domestic (we have one of each). They have always provided us with an estimate and then stuck to it. They have identified other issues with our cars and then gave us estimates and all of the information that we might need, meaning a second opinion or a time frame that we should keep in mind. They have never ever pressured us into any work and have even pointed out less costly solutions. This is a neighborhood shop, but I don't think that you will find any better, to include going to the dealership (which is not always what it is cracked up to be). So are you looking for a straight shooter? Friendly service? Someone that will not take advantage of you? This is the place. Best auto service in Rhode Island. I bring all my vehicles here both personal and company. I'm on a first name basis with the employees and they know me well. They will call you about any other issues they find and ask permission before moving forward on anything. Lynn and Dennis offer primo customer service! I've even brought a few things to them when I'm working on projects and had them weld some stuff that was not even automotive related. If I could give no stars I would!!! I had a custom exhaust put on 3 years ago for $800 and now today the pipes are rotted from the inside out with big holes in them. I called them and they won't fix it they stated it only has a one year warranty!!! They use cheap shit and they are so unprofessional!!! I had to bring my truck back 3 times when they initially put the exhaust on and I had to actually call Kenny myself and he fixed it!! Now that Kenny has passed the place has gone downhill incredibly!!! Will never bring another vehicle there again!!! read more

I called several auto care businesses in Kent County Rhode Island, about my box truck that had an exhaust leak. The other places I called either flat out stated they could not get a truck that size on the lift, or I could tell by the tone that it would be an issue. Lynn at Rossi was the exception, she was happy to have me bring it in evening to drop it off. The next morning she called to let me know the issue and price. Got told I needed about a grand of work to solve an issue. I brought my car in for a strong vibration during acceleration from the front end of the car. After agreeing to the work and picking up my car, it was as if they didn't fix a thing. Brought my car back and they were still unable to find the issue. Waste of money and time. Three months after this I had to have their work redone by another shop to pass my inspection. They refused to warranty the faulty parts that they installed three months prior or offer any sort of compensation. Even with the failed inspection reports with their failed work on it. Rossi's has gone way down. I was recommended by a large dealership to go to Rossi's as they would be a lot less expensive to fix my car and for normal maintenance. I was so appreciative that I was lead here. Over the past few years I have noticed prices rising and today was the last time I will use Rossi's. They refused to give me an estimate for an issue I was having with my car and insisted I needed to bring it in to diagnosis it even though I had the dealership tell me what was wrong. I had to wait over a week for this appointment and finally I get the price and they are $300 more than the dealership. Well Rossi's thanks for wasting my time. This place is a complete rip off. I brought my car there to be inspected. They called and told me a few things that need to be fixed in order to inspect the car. I told them to go ahead and fix the issues and let me know when the car could be picked up. The next day they call me and tell me that my windshield need to be replaced due to a crack. The crack I thought they were referring to had been there for about 6 years and was not obstructing any view. This frustrated me so I told them not to do anything I would pick up the car and bring it somewhere Else. When I picked up the car there was a new crack from one side to the next. I called to ask them about it and they said they are not responsible because there was a small chip (that had also been there since 2009) and they ran the defrost and that was what happened. So they admitted it was cracked by something they did yet are not responsible? Sounds like negligence to me! They do not even deserve one star. read more

Beware of these thieves and hacks!!!! I took my vehicle in to get the check engine light off. They say it's going to need $2,000 worth of work. I agree and pay. After leaving the mechanics with my vehicle the check engine light comes back on. I take it back to them but now this time it needs an additional $1,260 worth of work. They're nothing but hacks, liars, and thieves!!! I talked to the manager and he was completely unable to explain to me why this was fair. He wouldn't even give a price reduction. I'm still shaking from being disrespected so bad. I'm never going back there and I hope anyone that reads this does the same!!! read more

I just bought an 07 Jetta from Rossi's. Ken the sales guy was really nice (always answered the phone/got back to me fast) and I felt as though he was honest and cared about the cars he was selling. He goes all over New England choosing the cars himself and he does seem very selective and knowledgeable. It's also an auto repair shop so they fix up the cars if necessary as well. I looked at lots of cars in my price range (around $5000) and all of them had their issues. This car seems great so far but I'll update the review in a couple months as to if anything went wrong mechanically. There are tons of shady little dealers in the used car business but I did not feel as though this was one of them. The only draw back is that they finance through only one bank right now which is people's credit union so if you don't have great credit you may have an issue. It's not one of those creepy but here pay here places. Just a fair place to get a good deal. They don't even charge high fees even to register the car...I think it was going to be $15 for them to go to the dmv for me but I chose to do it myself. read more

I purchased a car here which had a brake problem from the start. The warranty was for "Inspection items only" which covers brakes. After two unsuccessful repair attempts in the 90 day period they refused to fix the problem offering instead to do an expensive brake job. I had the problem fixed at a local garage for $86 in just a few hours. So use caution a go to a reputable dealer instead. read more

I've been using Rossi's for quite a few years now, with multiple cars I've owned, and I've always been really happy with their service. If they can fix something on your budget, they will do everything in their power to do that, and if something needs complete replacement, they get the parts quickly. They've always completed the work needed in less than a day, call me as soon as they diagnose the problem and cost, call me again when its done or almost done: I really love them. I trust them with all my exhaust work and when they find other issues, they can fix those too (like my broken motor mount I had no idea was busted!!) and they fix it right the FIRST TIME! : -) Honest, quick, affordable, PROFESSIONAL, you won't be disappointed.
