They were recommended to me by my regular car service guy when my car needed transmission work. They told me up front that they didn't rebuild Subaru CVT transmissions but they were happy to put one in that I supplied. They checked the transmission out, replaced the seals and filter, installed and tested it. I had to drive 30 miles to get to their shop and if I had to drive 100 I would do that. The staff have been great letting us know what work needs to be done, how much it will cost, what they recommend going forward and so on. We had an issue that we just couldn't figure out for the longest time. They recommended we change out the water pump. We didn't do it right away and low and behold, the water pump blew. That was the problem. We actually had the car in three different shops trying to figure out what the noise was and although Rossi did not pinpoint the problem they did see the water pump was on it's last legs. That's more than the other two shops did. We towed the car to Rossi's for the repair work. I can't say they are the cheapest (you get what you pay for) but they seem knowledgeable and that's what you want in a mechanic right? It's a small garage, and we often have to wait a week or two for an appointment, so plan ahead if you can.

In the beginning (12+years ago) Rochelle and her unbelievably friendly, exceedingly large, dog manned the office, while brother Mickey took care of the cars. Together they make a great team of unparalleled customer service and quality car care. Located on the south bound side of Rt 2 in East Greenwich, they are close to the stop light at Middle Road. The parking area is on both sides of the shop as well as in front. There are often cars out there, proving this mechanic is busy. Park anywhere there's a spot when dropping off for service. If you chose to leave the car the night before service, there is a 'drop box' with large envelopes where you leave your name, phone, car info and work to be done. Drop the keys in the envelope, and drop the envelope into the drop box. Just be sure to call ahead to book an appointment because they are very busy and may not be able to get to it right away. (This is an educated guess on my part. Just makes sense based on how many cars are always in their lot and I've personally never just dropped off the car without an appointment. That's not to imply they can't get you in, in an emergency situation. Just call them first and let them know.) Mickey is always taking classes, staying up to date on the newest car technology. They explain every expense and either why you need it or why they recommend it. They also keep the automotive diagnostic computer software up to date for these newer cars that have so many computerized parts. Over the years this business has grown, more mechanics have joined the staff and we drop the car off at night and pick it up the next day. The car is always clean when we pick it up (a dealership once left greasy fingerprints on the interior roof liner - how?) and during this time of pandemic, we pay over the phone and they leave the keys inside. No contact drop off, no contact pick up. The entire transaction is over the phone, if you so desire. I wish I could tell you 'don't go here' because I love this place and want to keep it all to myself. Luckily we do not need so much car repair we are always there, so I share with you this trust worthy auto mechanic who truly makes you understand his goal is to keep your car running in as near perfect condition as possible without over charging you for anything, parts or service, or trying to get you to purchase services your car does not need. Even when we had a car in need of lots of repair work, he was able to give us a breakdown of what is an immediate *must* and what could be done over time (to help us keep our monthly budget in check), while assuring safety on the road. Seriously, these guys rock. We have had a variety of vehicles over the years, both new and old, and have lived in many different states (and a couple other countries) and we have found Coutu's to be top notch in car care, pricing and customer service. They had my car for a week to do the job. A week later my car was making an obnoxious noise so I brought it back and they said they didn't hear it. A couple of weeks later my car sounded like it was going to fall apart, I took my car to first Acura and they told me I needed new hub bearings because mine were bent. This place either didn't install them properly, put on used parts, or broke mine but I would never ever go back.

They then proceeded to take over 30 minutes to tow my car off the dyno using a length of nylon rope attached to one of the employees' pickup truck. After it was off, it sat in the end of the bay for fifteen minutes before I got up and insisted they back it out, or I would. I'll never go back.

I brought my 1990 ford f150 pickup truck in for a transmission leak that was fixed in about 3 weeks…read morehowever he informed me that the transmission was not shifting which I found to be very odd because the truck shifted the last time it was driven. After one month he determined it was the computer board and said he needed the money up front to pay for the board, which I did but after the first one not working, he ordered another one which also did not work. Now he tells me that the transmission had to be changed, he said he needed $3000 for a new one and when my wife delivered the money, she asked him if that was out the door, which means no other coasts installed and the truck running. The new transmission was installed by the third month, when asked what else he had to do he replied just had to install the drive shaft (maybe 2 0r 3 hours) and install the shift cables and that I should be driving it by next week. June July and august go by with me calling every week and sometimes twice a week I was getting the same excuse I will be driving it next. week This truck I bought for my granddaughter who needed transportation to her high school internship but because the truck was and still is not ready, she was forced to empty her savings account to buy just any form of transportation. The Friday before thanksgiving i went to the shop to see for myself what was left to be done, this is where I found the truck still up on the lift where it was from day one the drive shaft leaning against the wall collecting dust was my drive shaft untouched. again, I asked him this time in person when it would be done, he assured me that I would be driving it next week, I revisited him two weeks after thanksgiving and everything was exactly the same. Now we are into January still calling every week he now informs me that he has to send the drive shaft out to be lengthen because the ne transmission was shorter than the original one he got that back in a week but not installed. The next week in informed me that the drive shaft had to be resent out to be lengthen it seem the piece he put in was measured wrong and now had to shorten. I asked him would was doing the measuring was it Ray Charles. He said no it was him. I have no confidence that this drive shaft will hold up. By this time, we are now into February one year later and still no truck. after reading the reviews not only is he taken advantage of the elderly and disabled veterans but people of all ages. For the life of me I don't understand how someone in this business can tie up their lift for 14 months that's right 14 months and still no truck it can't be the money because I paid for everything up front in full. he says that he is going to get it done but when asked when no answer I said to him I hope I get it back why i am still able to drive. From most of the reviews I've read this is his SOP hold the vehicle hostage and then wants to charge you more money or replace parts with lesser quality products. I have not had a chance to examine my truck to see if anything else is broken or missing or changed out. he doesn't even desire one star

About a year ago I blew the transmission on my work truck. It was 4pm and I needed to get the truck…read moreback on the road as soon as possible. I found Rocco's online And called them. Tony answered the phone gave me a price over the phone to rebuild the transmission which I thought was a very fair price and let me send the truck there right from where it broke down. He was a pleasure to work with through the whole process and got my truck on the road in no time. This is a heavy duty commercial pickup truck, it's used daily for heavy hauling and takes a lot of load and hard use. It's been about a year now and 30,000 miles since Roccos did my transmission and it is still shifting as smooth as when it was first done even with all of the heavy work. A few months ago there was a slight rough shift on one of the gears and I took the truck there. It was a leak in the line which was not related to rebuilding the transmission. Tony fix the leak in a few minutes and topped off the transmission fluid at no charge, which is highly unusual and was super nice of him. I would recommend Rocco's to anyone as it's one of the best vehicle Related experiences I have had
