I received a call from a young man, about 20 years old, who had just bought a 2011 impala with over 300,000 miles on it for around $1,000; his concerns was no brakes and no power or rigid steering. He wanted a price quote over the phone, but I told him I don't give quotes that way and there is reason for that. He said he lived near the shop, so I told him to stop by so I could take a quick look the situation. He did, and to my surprise, he didn't even know the vehicle had been in an accident, alignment was very off due to an accident on passenger side control arm. I had a backlog of work at the shop--waiting on parts--and, of course, it was almost Christmas Eve. He told me he didn't have much money; I said I could help him out, and we agreed on a very reasonable price. However, he had to wait for me to finish the job I was already working on. It took longer than expected due to end-of-year deliveries and other complications of the trade. I had the vehicle for few days, He started calling repeatedly; twice I had to tell him I needed more time, but he began getting rude. He didn't appreciate that I had made an effort to prioritize his vehicle--I already had all the parts for it, and I hadn't charged him a cent upfront or for the diagnosis. Eventually, I politely asked him to take the car elsewhere, and he agreed. A week later, he texted me saying he had taken it to some relatives--which makes me wonder: why didn't he take it to them in the first place? It's a mystery! They fixed it, but it cost him $700 more than my quote. God bless him!

I hit a curb very hard avoiding an accident and my front end was in shambles. AAA came to change…read moremy destroyed tire and found that my car was pulling very hard to the left. I called my primary mechanic who wasn't able to see me for a week! In the mean while, driving as little as I could, my left tire blew because it was so badly off alignment. Got a used tire on Monday and was referred to Leo and team by the company who sold me the used tire. I called on Monday afternoon and he told me to bring it in Tuesday before he even opens. Leo and Pat and another young man accessed the damage, told me what I needed, and called around for the parts. I purchased a used strut and spindle while he is ordering the parts that he thought should not be used. Knowing that I'm on a hard line budget, with Christmas around the corner, and understanding that I need my car to earn a living and make money he took the time to put the car on the lift a second time, made a minor adjustment so that I can get to work and back with a less dangerous situation. I knew that he was genuinely concerned and went over and beyond what I expected. Thank you Leo! I will get the rest of the parts installed in a couple of days.
