I had a very disappointing experience at this Ross. I purchased a matching set where the top and pants were sold separately for $20 each. When the cashier rang everything up, she accidentally didn't scan the pants. Even while paying, my sister and I thought the total seemed lower than expected, but we assumed everything had been scanned correctly. As we were leaving, one of the items in our bags set off the alarm, so we immediately stopped and showed our bags because we knew we hadn't stolen anything. The manager checked our receipt and said the pants hadn't been paid for. Instead of handling the situation professionally, she made us feel like we had intentionally tried to steal them, even though it was clearly the cashier's mistake. She spoke to us in a rude and accusatory way and told my sister she would have to pay for the pants, which was embarrassing because it made it seem like we had done something wrong. We had every intention of paying for all of our items, and if the cashier had scanned everything properly, this situation never would have happened. The way the manager treated us was unprofessional and disrespectful. It was a very unpleasant experience, and because of how we were treated, I would not return to this location. read more

There's just really nothing much to say. It's a typical Ross. Clothes on the floor, hangers hanging sticking out in every direction, security guard at the entrance/exit. Ross stores are hit or miss because the selection is always changing. I believe this particular store wasn't terribly messy. We found a couple items at this store. Love the prices here! The wait at the register was a bit on the lengthy side. There was only one girl working. We'd return. read more

Barbie is a big fan of Ross and all of these discount stores, and of course I mean Marshalls and TJ Maxx which shockingly (or not?) have the same owner. This is a very popular clothing store down in Webster. It's not usually as busy as some of the other locations, but they usually have plenty of good stuff. We like it, but have never been able to find people to help us service-wise, despite the fact the store is not that busy. read more

On July 6th I had a return at Ross on Bay Area $30 ish dollars 5 days later it still hadn't posted back to my card I went back to that store and talked to the person who did the return, well that's not right because it still hasn't posted back to my card so I'm not sure exactly what she did other than take back the merch and keep my money. But this person told me I had to wait 10 business days and then come back. I explained that I have terminal cancer and that money was money I desperately needed I even ran out of gas in the parking lot. So I wait like she told me to do and find out this evening that was all bullshit! 5 business days is the wait time and then you call the 1-800 number. What an evil person. I haven't had a penny this whole time, what would make a person do something so cold hearted hope she doesn't get a chance to do this to anyone else read more

My sister in law is new to this country. She is wanting to work and make money for herself. She was excited to go job searching today until we entered this store. We were told by league city Ross to go to Webster Ross because they were definitely hiring. As we were walking into the store signs left and right saying we're hiring. Right when you walk in there's a table that says hiring and paper forms for interviews. Before we did any of that we asked security guard if we could speak to the manager on duty to find out more details. He walks away talking into to his walkie talkie and comes back saying to us we're not hiring. I said that funny because there's sign's everywhere saying your hiring and paperwork work sitting at the table saying you're hiring. He looked directly at me and my sister in law who was wearing a Hijab and said we're not hiring. Do you get where I'm getting at now. Rude, disrespectful, ignorance, and racism is exactly what we received when my dear sister in law is looking for her first job in the states. I am absolutely disgusted with this retail store. Unclean and the clothes usually have a weird smell. Long waiting lines even with the many available cashiers but only a few open. Worst customer service. Disrespectful and rip off with the returns top it with making mistakes in your receipts by counting the same thing twice. You have to be willing to take the time and search! I guess I just get impatient, as I don't find a lot of fantastic, amazing deals here, but I always hear about people who do. Sometimes I wonder if these stories are just rumors... It's not always the cleanest or friendliest place around; but it's not like you don't know that going in. Or you should know that anyway. If you didn't, now you do. Don't say I didn't warn you. But if you have some time to kill, and don't mind searching, you come away with a great bargain! I've found cute tops before, and every once in awhile I find running clothes here, so I don't count them out totally, but I have to be in a certain mood to shop here. I do like their purse selection, and have found some cute ones here, for a very reasonable price, so it's not all bad. Really, it's not bad at all. Just don't go in expecting to fine nice, neat racks of orderly clothes, super friendly employees, or fitting rooms that aren't in disrepair. Oh Ross. Even your name sounds cheap. This particular Ross Store is just like any other Ross. They have massive amounts of cheap clothing and shoes with a pathetically small housewares section. But I like buying shoes for $12.99 even if they are only 1-5 uses before they fall apart. Same goes for clothes. The staff at this location is friendly enough. They don't go out of their way for you, but then again I don't really expect that at Ross. Usually when I leave a clothing store only spending $50 I come out with 1-2 items but at Ross you can get 3-5 days worth of outfits for that same amount. If you're lucky and dig deep enough you can sometimes come out with enough outfits for a whole week. Last summer I went to Puerto Adventuras for a week but first I bought 7 dresses at Ross for $60 to wear on my trip. You can't do that at most stores. And you can't beat it. Is it inconvenient to spend an hour digging through countless racks of clothing to try and find something cute? Sure. Is it annoying to have to put up with rude people and screaming children? Of course. Does it make you feel dirty to have to avoid your bare feet touching the floor in the dressing room because it looks quite dirty? Most definitely. Is it worth the long check out lines that never seem to end? Probably not. But we do it anyway because we like cheap clothes. You're definitely trading quality for quantity at Ross and I think sometimes, that's OK. read more

Ross in general is a place where you can score great name-brand bargains, if you're willing to deal with some sketchy clientele. I am willing to go to that extreme for bargains. This Ross has a great jewelry cabinet which often has brands like Fossil, Skagen, and Betsey Johnson. The shoe section is usually in ike-like conditions, so i'd avoid that area unless you have the patience of mother theresa. One major tip: avoid this store Fri-Sun. It is always mobbed and the lines are epically long. i'd recommend going during the week for a much more enjoyable (and organized) shopping experience. read more

This is my new favorite bargain store! They have some great name brands in luggage, clothing, and home items. When I first came to this store, I thought of it as a less-organized, smaller, and cheaper version of Marshall's. However, the more I explored the store, I realized they actually have a decent selection of most types of items. I would venture to say that they have a section of home goods that rivals (or may even be better than) Marshall's Home Goods store, minus the furniture. I do think Ross is less organized - you will have to sort through the items and maybe even pick up some items off the floor to get through the aisle. There will also be kids crying in every part of the store. But it will probably be worth it. During my last trip, I found so many items that I never knew I needed until I went to Ross. read more

The high reviews are completely surprising due to how when I visited, they barely had anything in stock. You could basically look through the isles since there weren't enough clothes. The ones that were there were hideous. The home section was disappointing as well and 70% empty. Do better on the restocking. Christmas ended over a week ago. No excuse. I was very pleased with the service I received at this Ross compared to the Southmore one in Pasadena. The ladies and security people were very helpful and I found 2 witches hats there as well as a great suitcase that suited my needs that I couldn't find at Marshalls, Tuesday Morning or TJMax. I found 3 shirts that are perfect transition shirts for our warm/cool mornings for under 10 each. The store was clean and tidy...Thank you sales for all your help. read more

Bought a purse on 27th of Feb. It broke (of course) and I was able to return on the 11th of March. Only can get store credit even with receipt. I suppose I should be happy, but I really don't need anymore subpar junk. So buyer beware, you can return the things, but don't expect to get your money back. read more

Having been a retail manager myself I have several opinions about this store. You have the clientele in the area to support high sales at this location. That being said, the store is just short of disgusting. Occasionally a new manager will pass through and the improvements throughout the store are apparent immediately. Clearly good work is rewarded and it is not long before that manager is transferred. Customer service is essentially nonexistent and is short handed. It seems the store hours are not conducive for many potential employees. Perhaps more realistic shopping hours would increase the interest of highly qualified personnel. I have to be desperate and the right frame of mind to be willing to go in, step over merchandise all over the floor, dig for merchandise I came for and endure the wait to check out. A little attention at the regional level could make this a top sales store. Expect more of your employees while giving them more too. read more

This night only had the returns register open and if someone had a return they went first even though I had been waiting in line ten minutes longer than the people with the return! I have shopped Ross for over 20 years. I find many good deals. But my one complaint has always been the same. They do not control the children running wild in the store opening packages, breaking items, and screaming!!! I have began to call them down myself and have had ross employees tell me thank you. They are not allowed to do anything. I said I am a customer and I will do something because I have put up with it for years. Oh yea the other thing that makes me puke is when they play Spanish music. Uh I think we haven't completely turned to Mexico yet. But will soon. So please let me enjoy English for what little time I have. read more
