We got to talking about swimsuits & she told me that the other location, this location, has a large selection of vintage style swimsuits "mix & match" mixed bottoms & mixed tops for ladies. I love to mix & match my swimsuits. I never wear a matching set. I hate matching sets. I like to match my own sets. I have a gazillion of them, so i'm always looking for new pieces to "match" to my enormous collection. Anyhoo, she told me that this is where she goes to shop for hers as she likes to mix and match her tops & bottoms also. So, anyhoo moi went to check it out & she was absolutely correct. They have an enormous section of vintage style swimsuits. Tops, Bottoms, one pieces, all kinds of vintage style swimsuits. I actually found one of my most favorite tops, the one shoulder strap top. The Grecian toga top in white !!!! I cannot believe it !!!! What luck! So this was my first time here at any Gabe's and I had no idea it would be this big with this big of a selection of clothes! Better than TjMaxx, Beals, Ross etc. There are lots of clearance racks of different things. Can't believe ive never heard of or even been here before this. Went in for just a t shirt and $250 later I got all kinds of stuff! $250 here would be like $600-700 anywhere else with all the clothes I got!. I have my summer clothes set for now and will be back for my winter stuff. But I guess I will pop in here before then for some more summer gear

The woman who owns the shop is wonderful. She's clearly very particular about what she carries - everything is either organic, eco-friendly, or sourced from independent designers (she said she carries pieces from approximately 12 Etsy vendors). Pretty much every piece of clothing was soft to the touch and there was a decent assortment of colors, textures, and garments. The only downside is it felt like she was really limited in terms of multiple sizes in some of her garments. I know indie shops like this can't carry everything and will obviously run out of certain sizes or colors first, but anyway. The other thing she carries a lot of is vintage costume jewelry. I pawed through her cases (and there are many!) and lusted over a few different things. And just for a heads up, almost everything I picked up in terms of jewelry was $50 or above. It seemed like Brooches started around that price point and necklaces started around $100 for the most part. Granted I'm sure there are pieces cheaper than that, but it would have taken hours to manhandle everything she has. This isn't a discount kind of a place; it's obvious she takes a lot of care in collecting pieces that don't have missing stones or damaged hardware, and aren't some corny theme (like some of the antique shops in the area with Christmas or 4th of July things that will never sell). She also has a pretty solid assortment of vintage purses and leather pocket belts (those have a bit of a Burning Man feel to them, if you know what I mean). So, if you're not going to balk at the price of organic and independently made clothing and accessories, it's definitely worth checking this little shop out. If you have really nice vintage jewelry you're looking to get rid of, I'm sure she would be interested in taking a look at it based on some of the comments she made.

I found a lovely candle in the clearance portion near the back for just a couple dollars, and also got one of the s'more character ornaments - that was a great find as my mom collects them but I haven't seen them in years. Even though they were actively changing out the fall display for the winter display, the lady working the register still took the time to show me great deals & to make suggestions based on the other things I had collected in my hands, so the attention from the staff was great too!
