My fiancé & I popped in this evening to look for a jacket for each of us since we left ours at home on our trip to Indy. Though I couldn't find a jacket in women's sizes, I found a nice black duster that will keep me warm. My fiancé, on the other hand, found 2 new jackets that fit him perfectly. I used to work at Ross when the first came to Indiana. Our management was not to be played with . If you weren't in uniform the set you home. Or you could buy a shirt or whatever from the store if we had it. Your name tag had to be on if you were in the floor. Everyone shared responsibility with taking care of the restrooms. It was just in order. Even in our busiest days. I go in to this Ross near me and I just am so disappointed. I will say I did purchase something on this visit and the line was long. However once I stepped in the line, I was at the resister in less than 10 minutes. So there speed on check out was appreciated. read more

What is going on in Castleton Ross? In the past month I've stopped by there twice to make a return and parking lot is full. Strange crowd of people loading up their carts and buying everything in sight! Checkout lines are very long and slow. Noticed people paying with stacks of $100 bills. They are emptying out the store! If there's a long line of customers waiting to check out, why is there a worker just pushing around carts, clearly seeing the line, and doing absolutely nothing to help? It's common sense--if you see a full line and you're on the clock, step in and assist. Ignoring the situation is frustrating and honestly just bad customer service. Do better. read more

I was "out and about" with a friend today and she wanted to stop in at Ross. I had not been to this store before. I've been to "A" Ross before but it's been many years. I've always favored TJ Maxx & Marshalls. After today's first visit to this location; I still favor TJ Maxx & Marshalls by far! However I was able to find a couple of things moor my stepdaughter. The prices were excellent and they clothing pieces I was actually looking for! My friend was very happy to find 3 great clothing items at really great prices. I may go back again, time allowing, however TJ Maxx is the best in my opinion! read more

I enjoy this store, it's located off of 82nd street in Indy by the Trader Joe's. Ross is something that I was never exposed to until I moved to Indiana. This Ross is a good size in my opinion, right in the middle, not to big not to small. Wide selection of products, bath and beauty, and I think you find items that aren't always in target. There is also a great selection of shoes that usually go with the season as well as purses and luggage options. woman and men's clothing options are all in the middle, and I have found a great selection of different pieces each time I've visited. The home goods section is also worth checking out, they always have a unique selection of sauces and spices, and different decoration options as well. Prices are great, and you always find something fun and useful. I'm a happy repeat shopper read more

This Ross is your typical Ross, so if you've been to a Ross, you'll know what to expect. This location is convenient because it's located in the same shopping center as a Trader Joe's, which is nice! However, this Ross is a little bare bones. There doesn't seem to be as many different kinds of clothes on the racks. That being said, I was able to find what I needed in about 10 minutes, and I was in and out in no time. (Which is great for me, a person who does not enjoy shopping for clothing.) Always a few great finds but takes a lot of browsing a couple times a month to find the deals. Shelves are often far less stocked than the others, awkwardly empty isles that seem to just fill in the few things missing and/or over priced at TJ Maxx and Marshalls. There is plenty of options to browse, great decorations, kitchen items, and shoes. The most predictable pickings are the excellent prices on decent selection of shoes here (very helpful for ya larger footed fellows) in very odd sizes for those needing a 20! Great to have a store like this catering to the more casual and unique needs. read more

Ross Stores is along the lines of TJ Maxx and Burlington Coat Factory, except that it's more haphazard and disorganized, at least for this location. This store is the first in Central Indiana, and it just opened recently (October 2016). Perhaps they are still working on its operations and getting the inventory in order. Just like similar retailers, Ross carries brand-name goods at discount prices. Expect to find apparel, accessories, footwear, and household items. The selections were just okay and I didn't find any compelling buys, although prices were competitive compared to other discount stores. If you are doing some shopping in the Castleton area, you might as well stop by Ross. Perhaps you will find some unexpected deals there. Other competitors are nearby so you can always bundle your trips together. read more

Upside: it has improved greatly since my first visit Downside: there's still room for improvement in stock and quantity This store is suppose to be comparable to TJMaxx or Marshall's. I feel that those stores have better quality and definitely more quantity. I'm able to find a large plethora of designer and name brand items at those stores. Not so much at Ross. Also, this location is severely understocked. They have quite a few empty shelves throughout the store. However, they were more empty on my first visit a few days after their grand opening. This store looks nothing like the generic store photos they uploaded here. I've been to other Ross locations in northern Indiana, North and South Carolina, and Vegas. They were all better than this one. I was able to find some home decor items at good prices, but it seemed as though I could only find one of everything. If I wanted two or more, I was SOL. In my opinion, this store is no match for TJ Maxx across the street. It needs to be stocked better to compete. One good thing, you don't have to wait in line as long in Ross. read more

I love Ross. A friend told me to check the store out one time and honestly it's where I go for almost everything now. I love that I can get great clothing, children's items, housewares for a decent price. So far, I haven't had any issues with anything purchased from here. Wow, I know they have some pretty low reviews but I didn't think their customer service would be this bad. I called to see if their lost and found may have my prescription sunglasses. I was told that they probably put them back on the floor to sell them or threw them away! She said they only keep lost and found for clothing and credit card. Was shopping nearby, so I thought I would check out the new store. Never was in a Ross and will not be returning. I had purchased a few greeting cards (picture an eight by 6 inch transparent plastic bag) that I was carrying when I entered Ross. I was greeted with the clerk asking me to tie the bag. If a store is more worried about me "shop lifting" then shopping, it is not where I choose to spend my time or dollars! Like just about everyone else, I love a good bargain!! Every-time I go to these stores I find something great!! They are never jam packed with goods so it's very easy to shop. I've learned that if you see something you like you better get then bc it's unlikely that it'll be there long & you won't find it at a different Ross store. Prices are so reasonable! read more

I only gave a single star because I can't put ZERO I went in looking for some cute jeans and the ones I found were over priced and pitiful. Out of the TWO people working there only ONE was working at the register while this huge 20-30 people long line was almost to the back of the store. I think it is weird to have to rate a department store so low but this one has been given many chances. Every time I try to shop here, it's something ridiculous. First let me mention that it's a product ghost town compared to other Ross I've visited and actually enjoying shopping at. And then there's the employees. There are three that always seem pleasant (three young ladies, two with short haircuts, wish I could remember their names) but everyone else is always trying to make their bad day your bad day. Then I've actually had a male worker not try to give me the price that was on the tag. Unbelievable. Another time, a young lady would not take my return, although I had my receipt, product unused and still in bag. Shenanigans. And another time I was followed and watched throughout the store. Stopped into this Ross on Friday before going to Trader Joe's. The store was spotlessly clean, super well-organized, the people working there were very nice. Got a great Calvin Klein down vest for $8.99!! Almost bought a couple of nice table lamps, they were $20 each. Very good selection of shoes and home goods and a huge children/baby section.
