BUYER BEWARE! When I received my order there was a sheet of…read moreinstructions with 2 choices for returns. I started the return process per the instructions for the "QR code return to a drop off place with no label or box". I got a response my item was not eligible for return, so I called customer service and was told they couldn't provide a QR code right now and that I had to do the "pack, label, and ship" method. The shirt came in a plastic bag which got ripped when opening, and got tossed, so have to purchase a container to ship it back, pay a $9.95 return fee, lose the shipping cost and sales tax, AND wait up to 72 hours for a label to be emailed to me. So this shirt I am returning is costing me at least $25 to return. I told them I would never order from them again. I think I will take it to a resale shop or just donate it somewhere. Lesson learned.

When Heidner Properties acquired the Arboretum of South Barrington in 2022, we have witnessed an uptick in the abundance of new events, decor, beautiful new restaurants, retail shops & many more special events for day and evening entertainment. It's such a beautiful mall to walk around in & we cannot wait to see the ongoing innovations that continue to grow and become more successful each year. She had no desire to speak with me at all, much less try and help me with the discrepancy. I purchased two tops, so I'm not sure why she was so bothered. It may have been because the shoe box with the shoes I returned was beat up, broken and had a rubber band holding it together. However, they were shipped to me in that state and I was returning because they were too narrow. I likely would have shopped around more if she didn't make me feel so unwelcome. One other thing - the clothes at this store are not that affordable. The quality is not THAT good to afford such a rude employee. This visit to the store was a big disappointment for me, as I don't live close by.

Both my friend and I felt incredibly welcomed and a lack of judgement. It was a refreshing experience and I don't know why I was surprised. Maurices makes cute clothes for a variety of body types and sizes, and they recognize that everyone has a right to feel fabulous. Sara hooked me up with a dressing room so I could free up my arms for my items. Another girl took the next batch and I was soon on my way to the fitting room to try on the 10+ items I found. He got me a variety of bean boot styles, heights, and sizes to try on to truly see which I liked best. He never applied pressure for me to buy and actually recommended I put it on a hold if I wanted to think about it. He made sure I was well informed of my options and went above and beyond for me. There is also a Soma store at Woodfield Mall, but my favorite location is here at The Arboretum of South Barrington. The sales staff here are always helpful and friendly without being over-bearing or persistent. Be sure to check out the sales racks in back and join their mailing list to watch for rewards points and special coupons for even greater value. On my last visit, I spent around $60, but I had $35 in coupons. I also appreciate the good quality paper shopping bags Soma uses and often reuse, recycled or use them as gift bags.

I could not remember my size, so I ordered what I thought would fit. Every bra fit incorrectly. Not a big deal, I went to the store to exchange them. There was a woman being trained. She clearly was not ready to be on her own but they left her to take care of me for most of my experience. 1st she tried to tell me that I didn't purchase one of my bras there. (She didn't bother asking the associate that was training her, she just assumed because they didn't sell that particular bra in their store that it wasn't from Soma)The associate had to correct her. Instead of asking, because she had no clue, she proceeded to tell me that I could not take that particular bra back through the store, but that I needed ship it back and contact the company the way that way had purchased it. Again, the associate had to correct her. (The associate was in the back and I had to ask her to go and verify that I could not return it in the store) As I was trying on the bras they did have in stock, she took forever to find them. I love Soma bras but every single bra she gave me from one of their lines was misshapen, it looked like it was crushed. She not only made up answers instead of asking when she did not know, she had a slight attitude like I was inconveniencing her. Needless to say I returned 3 out of the 5 bras. Clothing and apparel here is superior quality and made for long time wear. Last year, I found a women's belted trench coat here on sale for under $40 and I am sure I will have it for life. I must have been asked several times if I needed help finding anything and the store personnel are always friendly and helpful, without being aggressive. Bonus for being pet friendly, and having clean, spacious dressing rooms and customer restrooms on-site. If you bring your pups, It's a nice area to walk them outside, before or after you shop too.

Today, that meant absolutely nothing. I sent my daughter money through Venmo to buy items for me. When I went to return them, the store refused to refund my card or offer any kind of reasonable solution -- even after I explained that my daughter now lives in Columbia, MO and I was just trying to avoid the ridiculous hassle of shuffling money back and forth. No empathy. No flexibility. No effort. Just a cold, policy-over-people "no." What should have been a quick, human interaction turned into a frustrating, disappointing experience that left me feeling completely dismissed as a customer. After years of loyalty, Duluth didn't just lose a sale today -- they lost me for life. Extremely disappointed.
