Shopping for the holiday season, and made a lot of stops here. It's nice they get inventory almost every day, and they're is a tj maxx also nearby. Parking is plentiful which is helpful around this time. Be prepared during the season though, for lines to be backed up to the end of the store at times. Of course it's a hunt to find any treasures, and sometimes you leave empty-handed. You can find some good things, but be warned, if you haven't been to a Ross before they can get extremely messy. There are often clothes strewn about, or in the wrong place. They box up most of the makeup and Skin Care now, so that is helpful. They even started to get some more name brands, such as drunk elephant recently. I was disappointed recently when I bought a really cute pair of slippers, that literally fell apart within the first week. I only wore them around the house a bit and the whole bottom stitching on the soles just came unraveled. It seems no matter what day you go here, they are always busy if you don't go first thing in the morning. Great thing about the holiday hours is they stay open until like midnight and open around 6:00 a.m. I am also glad that they finally updated their systems, and if you lost your receipt, they can look it up with the credit card you purchased with as long as it was within 30 days. This is extremely helpful for me as I often lose track of receipts, and they don't have the email receipt option like TJ Maxx or Marshalls. It isn't till the level of Marshalls or TJ maxx, but Ross is a must for me tol hit up occasionally to look for great finds.. They are often the cheaper of the three as well. read more

My favorite store!! Out of the three Ross in Escondido this is my preferred location. They are open late! Nice selection of pretty much everything: clothes, shoes, home decor, bath, travel, etc. I always find so many nice and unique things. My home is FILLED with so many things from here. Most items have good value, others are kinda ridiculous. Staff is always nice. I also have a great selection of the reusable bags. Only reason why I didn't give five stars is because sometimes it's messy and other times it's clean. The bathroom is always gross. read more

Accessibility: there are accessible/handicap parking spots across from the entrance as well as a ramp on both sides of the building to get up to the sidewalk. The doors to enter are motion-activated and inside it is a tile type of surface, well lit inside. The roof right outside the entrance is also a covered area in case it rains and you need to hide under it while waiting to go to a vehicle. They have regular shopping carts but no motorized shopping carts. Sizes: they have so many sizes, including 2XL and 3XL! Awesome! Pricing: $ cheap! Experience: I absolutely LOVE Ross Dress For Less because it truly is a place where you can find clothes for less money; the best part is...they are nice looking clothes and quality for affordable prices. The Ross in Escondido made such an impact on me when they treated me with respect and empathy last Monday by making a simple cash return after being turned away from Ross in Clairmont Square earlier that day. My boyfriend had gone to make a quick cash return of $14.99 earlier that afternoon and was told that because it was purchased in Orange County, it must be returned there. When I arrived there later the same night, I was told by the security guard that location was closing in 7 minutes. It was at that point, another associate yelled loudly across the sales floor, NO RETURNS AFTER 9:30!!! I then had to drive ALL the way to Escondido (as they were open until 11:00). Upon entering the Escondido store, I was greeted promptly by a kind, handsome security guard. When I attempted to make the return, the associate alerted me to the fact that it was not allowing her to do the cash return (although she could see I paid 100.00 cash). She was very kind and offered without me asking to call a manager. Instead of turning me away a THIRD time that day and upsetting me, that manager was able to not only turn the experience into a training opportunity, but she also placated the entire situation. I am SO GRATEFUL for your professionalism and exemplary customer service!!! There was such a stark difference between the 2 locations. read more

Decent location, but busy a lot of the time. That's probably because it's in the Target center, and there's tons of traffic there all the time. Expect a line, pretty much any time you go in. Fairly organised, but you sometimes see Men's merchandise in the Women's section. I found a pair of Tom's that we're unusual, and then realised that they were men's style. Luckily, they fit me, and were cheaper than the women's styles I had looked at. Parking is easier closer to Dick's sporting goods, because Applebees takes up a lot of the nearby parking. read more

I recently visited your store at the escondido location at Auto Park Way. Although i did appreciate the extra precautions taken for mitigating this pándemic, i was a little taken back by this stores policy and not allowing shopping carts to leave the inside of the store. Had I had purchased a couple items, I would have gladly taken my stuff from the shopping cart to my car by hand. I think there is serious lack of consideration and laziness taken by not considering those customers who purchase big items such as tables, mirrors, paintings, items that can't be carried by one person. Im assuming the person who stoped me with my purchase today was a store manager, although polite, i was a little startled as he clearly saw i was unable to carry the items my self, asked me to not take the cart out. He suggested i bring my car around, and he would watch my things. I said fine. When i arrived he was gone and my things were just sitting inside the store entrance, lol, unbelievable. I will not be visiting this location ever again or any other Ross. The store located in San Marcos is much better. I went in there specifically looking for an off-season item and didn't expect them to have it, but I figured I would try. They didn't have it so I roamed around a bit. The women's apparel is cute and stylish but every item I touched was either stained or damaged. The lining of one jacket was stained and the zipper of another jacket kept jamming. I'll pass on this location. read more

Good size store located in the Escondido Promenade. The kids toy selection is a MESS! Toys everywhere... on the floor, on random shelves, and completely unorganized. Didn't see any killer deals on toys the day that I went but sometimes you can get lucky and find some awesome stuff. Their maternity section is pretty poor- cheap clothing (looks poorly made) but you get what you pay for, I suppose. I personally prefer the clearance selection at Macy's for maternity wear. As for other clothing- you can find some really good deals BUT you have to know what you're looking for. By this I mean: have in mind what you want and recognize which brands will give you more bang for your buck. You'll need to spend some time there if you choose to do this. The infant/toddler selection of clothing here is very nice. Lots of selection with some great quality brands (e.g., Carters) and designer name brands (e.g., Calvin Klien, Juicy Couture). Their clearance though seems very tiny. Lines move fairly quickly but you'll see articles scattered on the floor in line to checkout. Which I find it a great thing, because everything appears now extra well organized, neat, and in this store, plenty, but plenty spaces between aisles (so no way you are going to start a fight with another lady or man because your shopping cart vital space has been abruptly cut by other. Again, shopping at Ross is always a pleasure, but now that everything is organized by someone with probably OCD even better!!! I've been lured to shop here in the past because I was looking for cheap clothes for me. While I did find some discounted clothing, the quality of said clothing has been poor. I'd say most things here are borderline junk quality especially the knick knacks. and food items. This may not hold true for Women's clothing though because I've heard there are some good things here for the ladies. Also have bags like Sakroots. Toys are generally crappy, disorganized, and often appear to be broken. What can I say....ROSS GIVES ME LIFE!!! This ROSS branch is one of my faves! When you walk in the door the security guards or staff always greet you and seem genuine...sayyyy whatttt!?! They always have good finds at the store... From makeup, to really cute hats, car care equipment (mats, seat covers, tire wipes), to clothing for any cause and the entire family, candles and home decor. Last I went I got a new rug for the bathroom that was super soft sand saved $20 as well as a beautiful canvas for my office that I keep getting complimented for. I don't have a green thumb and have killed several plants and I found several cute fake plants that look very realistic in gorgeous rose gold and stone holders! So now I can't kill these plants! Yay! I also think this store stays pretty well stocked and clean...don't forget to check out their awesome cooking section and I have gotten so many yummy teas, cooking spices and chocolate there too! I just returned home from the Ross Store in Escondido- 334 W El Norte Parkway. After purchasing a shirt that has some kind of acidic liquid burning thru the material, I did not notice until after I got home. I am not able to go all the way back to the store today to exchange it. It is a huge inconvenience as I was going to wear the item this evening. I called and spoke to three staff members, 2 of which are managers, one named Aricelli (spelling?) another Makayla, and none of them would do me the courtesy of holding one of the identical remaining items on the floor until I could return. Wasting my time, money, and energy of having to go all the way back bcz they aren't willing to take 5 min and set the item aside. An item I've already paid for and is defective. I understand there is a policy that would prohibit favoritism, if I was calling about holding an item for convenience sake. But in this case. they sold me a defective piece of material, perhaps even toxic- who knows what the acid was comprised of. I feel I'm entitled to have it good shape since I paid for it. This response is unacceptable and I would appreciate that it be made right at no further expense of my own. read more

This Ross is a bit of a Mess. And by mess I mean not just a bit that the store is pretty big and messy. The customer service isn't great either. The Loss Prevention guys at the door were nicer than the cashiers. I didn't see anyone on the floor that I could as for assistance from at times couldn't find what I was looking for where it should've been at. They did have a lot of stuff on clearance some pretty good stuff! Every Ross is pretty similar only difference is I have been to other locations and had a great experience. And part of what makes that great is customer service. Shouldn't always be about how fast a cashier is. Or how much money is being spent. It's about the process. Maybe don't move as quickly but the cashiers are pleasant. Would rather spend more at another location with better customer service and go out of my way, then come to a convenient location and have a crappy experience. I came here today after a hard day of teaching and wanted some retail therapy. I also really needed to find a good duffle bag so I was looking through all the duffel bags when I noticed loss prevention getting really close to me. I really don't appreciate being followed around the store especially when it's really obvious that I'm browsing and looking through the merchandise. I don't usually like going into a Ross store later in the evening as they tend to be "trashed out" with stuff strewn everywhere. Especially in the shoe area where I've been to a few Ross stores and shoes are everywhere and it looks like a tornado hit the store. I walked into this Ross Store and was pleasently surprised. The shoes were located near the front of the store and to my amazement it was nice and orderly. Was I dreaming? I don't think so! The store was nice and big and I loved how the registers were nicely laid out and there were plently of them open and I didn't have to wait a long time to get checked out. That was a nice change from a lot of the other Ross stores that I've been to. Plus this is not too far from where I live so I would rather drive here instead of going to Carmel Mountain or Mira Mesa. read more

I wanted to deduct a star. I've been back a few times to this Ross whenever my mom wanted to shop. I do like that when I am lucky I can find these tiramisu wafers here. One time I came and it just smelled bad. Like something rotten or something died. They eventually got rid of the smell. I came recently and I just observed all the cashier stands were empty except 3 people helping. I've noticed lines here before but just haven't thought anything of it until I was standing in line by myself bored out of my mind!! The line needs to move! Dress for less when trying to impress... This location carries all sorts of things that you wouldn't expect to find here. There are tons of suits, name brand clothing and shavers... They also have tons of furniture that you can never lug out of their store... I've come across a few paintings or art pieces that I've purchased and put in my house. Their staff are always helpful and willing to open another register when people start moaning and groaning. Once in a while you'll find high end time pieces I've seen a few Movado Watches here but I've never purchased any since I don't know how their warranty would work out in case you have any issues. I'll add that they were very reasonably priced though. There is always parking and this store is very organized. I'll visit whenever I'm in the area to see if I can find a deal! read more

The store was ok but there was more security then cashiers. Service was horrible and had to stand in line for 30 minutes just to get two things. The line was ridiculous from the start to where the clothing Isles. There was only one cashier and one for returns. Her customer service was horrible just said the price and that was it. I have to say that I love our new Ross in Escondido. It is surprisingly well maintained... at least when I've been there, which is different than most Ross'. What I love (and hate) is that every time I go int here, I find a dress (or 6) to buy. LOVE! HATE! They also have a banker's line to check out and a BUNCH or registers, which I really appreciate! The fitting rooms are well maintained. The aisles are kept pretty neat. The food aisle was well stocked and there were lots of organized kitchen items I really needed. My favorite thing I came across during my most recent visit was an abundance of Betsy Johnson bags! OH JOY.... Love love love BJ! It was hard not to load up my cart. The only negative really, is that you can't take your cart outside so when you have a LOT of goods, it's tricky to drag it all out to your car. BOO for carts being stuck inside, Ross! Every time I visit this Ross, I am reminded why I don't visit this Ross. Ladies bra's are either a total mess or nonexistent. But the worse part is that if you are there at 30 minutes to close, they walk around and inform you every 5 seconds that they are closing. This is my mom and me actually my whole family favorite store they have all of the deal that you don't have to pay full price. I found some good active clothes here and my mom favorite shoes area. The place is messy there and there but I understand this is a lot of work to clean all this and make it sparkling, so we really don't mind at all. If I saw something I'll hang it up. Love it that they have dogs session, you know dog stuffs are expensive. They have everything you will need here so shop for less. Nice parking area, always busy. Big store, good selection of men's shoes and housewares compared to other Ross locations. Needed to use the facilities while I was there - CSR was super friendly and opened the door for me. Restrooms could have been a little cleaner but not a huge deal when you're just shooting in and out. Easy access and tons of parking. Max is 8 in the fitting room, and there's a Public bathroom. Candy is very cheap here too, they have a lot of classic products that you can't find most places. read more

If you are looking for a place that is not organized and a battle just to go through the mountain of clothes on the floor with your basket, then this is your place! I like the prices for what is offered. I shop here a lot, however I need a Xanax by the time I am done do to it just being crazy looking through clothes and the people that shop there are rude. When I go on the weekend I typically go in the morning, less traffic in the store and clothes are actually on the hangers! The dressing rooms are always dirty. There are always long lines. Seems like they have a full staff so I am not sure whats going on with that. During the week when they open is best. When you have a big family you can't beat the prices here. Ross is one of my favorite stores to shop at and find great deals. You're probably thinking, "Why are you giving them 1 star then?" Well, this location is one of the worst I've been to as far as cleanliness and organization goes. Their customer service is okay. The employees will greet you throughout your visit, but the store is a mess. They also rush when you buy your items so I felt like I had to hurry and run out. I understand slight disorder but this is so much worse. I don't believe theres any excuse for what I've seen. They look as though they have enough people working to tidy up throughout their shifts. If they made a huge improvement in that area, I'd shop here more often. I also don't find as many deals at this location than I would at the Mission Valley location or San Marcos location. I'm not sure if it's just because my mood changes as I walk through the aisles and see disaster, therefore I leave a lot sooner. Or if it's because stuff hasn't been marked down when it should be. I'm really not sure. If you don't mind seeing merchandise where it shouldn't be, or seeing toys all over the floor, preventing you from going down certain aisles, then go for it. You'll find a deal! You're also gonna have to dig through messy racks and chaos to find it. I shop here for my "disposable" clothes. They are cheap in price but also cheaply made. I'm a hairstylist so I get color and other chemicals on my clothes. I won't wear a $60 shirt to work knowing its gonna get ruined at some point so its nice to have a place where I can go get a shirt for $5-10, wear it a few months and throw it away no problem. This is also a good place to get gifts for people. They have a wide variety of "things" (accessories for phones, games, house decor) and it'll be the same brand at Target but $3 cheaper. Make sure if you find something you like that you grab it quick because chances are it will not be there the next time you come back. read more
