It's…read morea pretty large store, and it offers a shoe area, multiple dressing rooms, a plus-sized area, and a regularly-sized area. It's bigger than most mall Maurice locations that I've seen. Maurices sizing goes from a size 0 all the way up to a size 24. Their plus-sized selection is smaller (about 1/4 of the store) compared to the regular sizes, but it's still quite a bit of clothing. Staff is really what makes this store. Staff is helpful without being pushy. They happily will open a fitting room for you, and they occasionally will check in and ask if they can help you find items. Lots of other people were taking advantage of that, and staff was helping them put together great outfits by making suggestions. They are really good about regularly using your name and making you feel like a valued customer. I was looking for a scarf in a different color, and the staff was really helpful. They looked it up on their own system, double-checked throughout the whole store when the system said they didn't have it, and then offered to call down to the Waterloo location and see if they had one for me. The entire experience was very friendly, and I always got the feeling that the staff genuinely was having an okay time working there and wanted to help. Price can be a bit high depending on the items. I'd recommend trying to take advantage of their sales; they regularly have discounts or "Buy One, Get One ___" sales which help lower the prices. They also offer a free rewards program that gives you a $5 credit for every $100 you spend, so that will you save a bit more money. Finding specific items can be a bit difficult, though, so you may need to ask for help. For example, their scarves are placed in multiple areas throughout the entire store, so it can make it hard to compare all scarves at once. However, with such helpful staff, it really isn't too hard to eventually find what you're looking for. Maurices has nice clothing, but what really makes this store is the staff. This is probably one of the best customer service experiences that I've had in awhile.

Had a very good experience at kohls tonight. It was tax free weekend and I was dreading shopping…read morebecause I thought it would be mayhem. Kohls had planned and organized well. They had plenty of staff on hand. And for 8 pm at night the store displays looked nice and organized. I was offered help several times. I ended up getting all my kids school clothes. Two pairs of shoes for each kid, underwear, socks, jeans, sweatshirts, pajamas and even a disco light. I had two carts full. Was scared the girl at the register would groan with disgust at all my stuff but she was chipper and enjoyed the challenge. Another employee came over and even helped bag. Another employee went and did a sku check when a shirt was missing a tag. I spent $1100 and had a coupon and a 20% off coupon. So my total was $870. I got $170 in kohls cash to spend next time. The service was there tonight and the employees were in good spirit.

I find some great deals on clearance (bought 97 cent clearance boxers for my 11 year old today). I recommend trying on clothes before leaving the store because I find they typically run small. Like most stores they lack staff so you get very little interaction while shopping. But I'm not typically one to need help. Just noting that during my visit tonight no one offered any greeting or assistance while I shopped with my boys. The associate at the register was very friendly and efficient. As the store only carries one or two copies of every individual item they have, you can never really be "sure" they're going to have what you have in mind. Having one copy of everything frees of way more space to have way more variety. You can get faux plants, dinnerware and kitchen supplies, kid's decor, pet supplies, mugs and other drinkware, furniture, gigantic rugs, gourmet pre-packaged treats, pillows and blankets and other soft bedding, mirrors, wall art, and seasonal stuff. Prices aren't particularly cheap. I'd say they're decently mid-range for home decor stores like this unless you catch things on clearance. When they're clearancing out items, you can get some *really* nice deals. Because of the "one copy of items" thing, the store can regularly feel pretty cluttered - and you should make sure that your potential item isn't damaged or anything before purchase. Expect to spend a freakishly long amount of time in this moderately-sized store just because there's *so* much stuff to look at on every shelf.
