Terrible service the worst selection of eye glasses any where the old fella that gives you your paper work is very out of date I'm sure in the sixtys he was in his element he just had a old time contractors kind of attitude and is pretty incapable of handling the process of taking the print out and putting it in my hand and then one year later I called to get my prescription sent over to Costco because I needed glasses mine broke I don't know what I was thinking because he still didn't manage to fax or email the prescription over and I'm sure it's not going to happen its been 2 days since I requested the lady that gave me the exam was very nice and professional in my opinion did a great job but at the end of the day he just really screwed up the whole thing and continues to do so I recommend her I don't recommend any other thing in that store at all it's really a waste of time read more

Roz and eye care needs to improve their customer service. I arrive six minutes late. They did not talk to me for 10 minutes and then refused to serve me. The parking lot is a mess and it takes time to park. I should've been earlier but all the same there was not one person in the store and they refused to take me. I had driven across town and I left. The doctor is wonderful. The reason I'm not giving five stars is because the office is never open. I took the day off to pick up my glasses and on a Friday the office was closed. When I called the Northbrook office to see if they had any information on why the Glenview office was closed they said sometimes they don't come in if the doctors not there. It would've been very helpful for me to know that before driving 30 minutes to pick up my glasses. Today is the following Monday and I decided I'm gonna call before making a trip and they're not open. I've never seen a business like this that doesn't adhere to their office hours or let people know. It's very frustrating. read more

Terrible product quality! Bought a new pair of glasses for $700, and lens fall off frame within a few months of wearing. They refused to repair or replace as so-called "warranty" only covers 30 days. What a joke. Stay away and will never come back! read more

Tried to make 3 separate appts (3 PM 330 PM AND 4 PM) for myself and my 2 children and was told they won't allow more than 2 members in a family a day! WHAT? They said I would have to make an appt on a different day. Very inconvenient for families. I had gone to the Niles location for 3 years but changed to Glenview as was more convenient. My husband got a new pair of glasses here last year. We actually had the exam somewhere else and didn't like the other place's high pressure sales techniques. At Rosin we felt free to roam around and look at all the frames. We came in on the weekend and it was very busy. It must be a popular place to go. We found a frame and they used the prescription information from the other eye clinic to set my husband up with new frames and lenses. The frames arrived in no time. I'm really pleased and I will be going there myself when my insurance covers my next eye exam. read more

I made an appointment for an eye exam and saw Dr. Coffey. He was very thorough, friendly, and helpful. He explained every test/procedure. He answered all my questions fully. I was very, very impressed by him and his patient care. I then met with the staff to discuss my eye wear options, and the young lady who helped me was extremely helpful, patient and friendly. She listened to my needs & concerns about my frames and helped me pick out some options. While there for about an hour, I interacted with most of the staff on duty, and was really pleased with everyone's professionalism and customer service. I'll definitely be back to the Glenview store for all my eye exams & eyewear needs. read more

Dr. Coffey, I will follow you wherever you go. I have been going to this Rosin for the past 3 years but I was never satisfied enough to write a review. I also didn't feel like I had any material to write a mediocre review. This visit, however, was very different. Every time I had gone to Rosin for my yearly check-up, I have had a different doctor. This year, it was Dr. Coffey and oh wow was my experience amazing. I didn't know going to the eye doctor could be such a informative experience but that is exactly what I experienced. Dr. Coffey was extremely thorough and took the time to explain why my eyes were increasing getting worse, while also explaining my prescription to me. He actually gave me a full eye exam which I didn't know until I asked him if it were an extra charge and he said it was part of the eye exam. I was being jipped the past 2 years I guess. Now, I am so happy to go to Rosin and I will continue to go there for as long as Dr. Coffey is there...if he goes somewhere else, I will surely follow. I recommend everyone and anyone who is wanting to get a comprehensive eye examination to go to Rosin. The staff there is mostly friendly as well. Omirah is personable and goes out of her way to make a difference in helping you while not being pushy at all. Overall, the best experience I have ever had at the eye doctor! read more

I will second other positive reviews for Dr. Coffey. I've worn glasses since I was four and have seen many eye doctors over the years for both glasses and contact lens. The first time I came here last year to get new glasses and contacts my experience was good. However, a month ago I made an appointment for December 10th, but when I called days before my appointment to confirm it the person that works there said my appointment for that day was never made. I was confused as I know it was put in. But you know fine, not a problem I will just make an another appointment. Which is for today December 17. BUT YESTERDAY, an associate from that branch called me stating that my insurance is not going through "not working", that person called me 10 minutes before they close. So by the time I called back to let them know or ask more questions their close. Finally today I called them, I did not want to go in without getting my whole insurance resolved so I called them right when they open at 10am as stated online that their open that time. To make sure me driving won't be a waste and that they should call my insurance if they are still having issues. To get it resolved first. But when I called them the lady (Natasha) said that I missed my appointment at 9:40AM and that my insurance is there and they accept it (there's no issue at all with my insurance). I explained to her what happen but she said that due to COVID their time changed (even though they did not notify their patients the time difference) plus I told her my calendar that was made for me that their associate said is at 10AM, December 17. It's really the inconsistency for me, the fact that when I already been seen there a year ago and their saying they don't have my chart or any history already blows me. Please, communicate better with your patient. Maybe make your website better where people can make an account to see their schedules etc. Also if you know there's an issue or some sort, don't call them 10 minutes before you guys close. read more

Pro's: slightly better selection on rimless frames than some other stores in this area Con's: Completely clueless staff, rude, unprofessional First thing they asked me was insurance papers, SSN, etc. instead of trying to help me with finding the right frame - clearly the priority is to sell, not to provide customer service. When I asked for different shape lenses in my frame of choice I was told that wasn't possible (instead of: let me find out). When I told the representative that I have seen the same frame in another location with other shaped lenses I was still told that wasn't the case (what are you implying?). I asked the sales lady to call the Northbrook store (much much better service btw) and they did. They were told that different shapes ARE possible but they could still not figure out how to do it, also no apologies. I finally went to the Northbrook store (25 min drive each way), ordered my glasses there, and they offered me to have them delivered to Glenview. I know I shouldn't have agreed ... OMG, the Glenview store couln't even call or email or text me to let me know that the glasses are ready!!!!! I just called them 2 weeks later, they didn't have my order at first, and finally after asking how to spell my name 3 times and having me on hold ... they found them. I am already regretting having to go there to fit on the new pair. NEVER AGAIN! Btw, Rosin website doesn't even have a customer satisfaction link on their website, otherwise I would have given the suggestion to train their staff to them, not to Yelp. I've been wearing glasses for many years and, until recently, I haven't felt compelled to return to any of the eye-wear stores I've been to. In other words, I haven't been a very loyal "repeat customer" simply because I usually felt I was being rushed or treated very impersonally . Whenever it was time for a new exam and glasses, I would stop into any eye-wear store that was close to wherever I happened to be at the time. When we learned that my 10 year old son might need glasses so I decided to stop at this Rosin's simply because it was close to my younger daughter's "Little Gym" class. I was "WOW'd" with the level of service I received from the optometrist and the sales staff. I found them extremely pleasant, knowledgeable and very patience with my questions. I also felt they were genuinely sensitive to my son's questions. They also helped make sure my 5 year old daughter was entertained with their kid's DVD selections during our visits. Unfortunately, boys being boys, my son has had to replace his glasses more than once. I'm happy to say that my repeat visits have all exceeded my expectations. More recently, my daughter also needed an eye exam and glasses, so I took her to Rosin's. I was very happy with the exam and the help we received in selecting the right frames for her! Although I believe there was a change in staff from my first last year, the service and attention has continued to be great! In addition to purchasing my daughter's new glasses earlier this year, I recently returned to replace my son's damaged frames. Both kids really enjoy stopping at Rosin's and they've gotten to know Daisy fairy well, (I believe she's the manager). I find her to be very professional and she's made it "fun" for them and always has a big smile when they walk in. Thankfully, she's been very patient with each of the children and made sure they selected frames they really liked and were within my budget. I have been to Rosin Eyecare for almost 20 years for 5 family members. This year was such a disappointing experience. The woman I knew for a long time had promoted to Northbrook Rosin years ago. She always cleaned our glasses and checked the condition. She always gave us the price match for contacts. This year, I got neither. New worker didn't even ask about my glasses. People were upsets for time delay while I was waiting after the eye exam. The doctor or receptionist seems don't care much about the quality of services. The optometrist has been changed three times. They have less selections of glasses. They charged 50% more to my contacts order and wiped out my insurance allowance. I forgot to request price match since I have been getting it for years. Her response to the high price was that I didn't request the price match. So if you don't know enough and don't request it, you get overcharged. Whatever, I asked for the reason. She said " I don't understand what you mean." I should have buy contacts on insurance site. I could have ordered contacts through the insurance site by using three different contacts sellers. I could have gotten 3 boxes instead of 2. Rosin overcharged 50% more for a box. I will not buy contacts at the provider from now on. read more

I have been going to Rosin for myself and my son for years. I originally started at the Glenview location and really liked he service and optometrist. But when that optometrist left, I found the sales persons to be very rude. I went to the Northbrook location and service was better but got worse with time. I took a pair of very expensive prescription sunglasses to replace a loose screw and it was returned to me completely mangled. I went back to Glenview this month and they have a new crew of people who are very nice to work with but their choice of frames are limited. But more importantly, the optometrist and front sales were great. read more

I have gone to this Rosin Eyecare for the past 5+ years, but I think I will go elsewhere after my most recent experience. The eye exam was fine, but the "retail" aspect of the visit left much to be desired. The person assisting me suggested while I was trying on frames that she would know better than I the frame style and size that would work for me (perhaps so, but it's my face and my money...if I want an opinion, I will ask for it). I would have appreciated it if she would simply have asked whether I needed any help. Once the frames were selected and I sat down to place the order, the same person proceeded to ring up all sorts of extras on the lenses without first asking me. When I was somewhat blown away by the final tally on the eyeglasses ($472) and asked her to itemize, I removed 2 of the extras and the upcharges for those extras (they really were useless options/upcharges). Finally, they missed the delivery date promised because the frames were damaged in transit (not their fault), but then when I called a full month after placing the order to inquire on status, the person answering my request indicated that they had tried to reach me a week prior to tell me that the frames were in. I confirmed that they had the proper contact information and then asked why they did not leave a message and her response was simply that she did not know...it was not her that called. I have been going to Rosin for myself and 2 daughters and will never walk in a Rosin Eyecare center again. My daughter's frame broke just a few months after getting them so I went in October of 2014 and they fixed it and said there was no charge. I go back in February of 2015 for her vision test and new glasses and the girl there tells me I have a balance. I asked her for what, she wasn't even sure. Then she said something they fixed for me in October. I told her they had said no charge and let me go. So she says nothing and then sends me a bill a few weeks later. I called her and told her again there was no charge and she said well that was a different management and I don't know what they did. What? Sorry, you all work for Rosin and a different management is not my problem. Anyway, the quality, employees and customer service at Rosin is not worth a penny. I will pay this bill and never give them my business again!! read more
