Bacon Cheese Steer Burger French Fries

Great food but be prepared to wait even if you call it in ahead of time. The burgers are great and you get huge portions. It's definitely worth the price. I love that they have a pickup window too.

Great food but not in a great location. Service was fantastic! Very friendly staff. I sat at the counter and watched them prepare my lunch. Steer burger was one of the best I've ever had!!!

Awesome locally owned diner that is very popular in Mobile. You can dine in or call your order in, pick it up at the window. Has Po'Boys, Burgers, Steak, Seafood, your go-to Southern Comfort Food. My sister had a Bacon Steer Burger & fries, I ordered the 12oz Steak that is smothered & covered with gravy & onions for husband & myself. This is an old school diner, with a large room in the back that is cooled by two wall a/c units, four flatscreen TV's for watching the game(s). Diner does not have much in terms of decor other then an American flag, but it is clean & the food makes up for it. Very friendly waitress, staff is wonderful. Right off of Spring Hill past the KFC but before you hit the Greer's Supermarket. FYI this diner accepts cash, credit, debit, & maybe checks.

From Atlanta but was in town visiting my 81 year old Aunt. she doesn't go out much but wanted to go out for breakfast. she said she didn't know where to go. so I googled. this came up with 4.5 stars. when we got there she at first wanted to leave because they didn't serve biscuits. I convinced her to at least try it. The food was so good. she ordered fish & grits. I ordered fish, shrimp and grits and added conecuh sausage to mine. she was satisfied and asked for to go menus so she can pickup (yes she still drives) The staff was superb Family owned. also my fish, shrimp and grits was only $8.99 My breakfast spot from now on when I come in town.

This place was fantastic! The portions were huge and everything was fresh. I got the cheese steer and it was incredible. Without a doubt one of the best burgers I've ever had. My husband got the jubilee platter with mashed potatoes and okra and cleaned his plate! This is a great mom and pop diner kind of restaurant. It's a great and wholesome environment. Can't wait to go back!

My first time here. An old Mobile establishment with a good reputation.

Had the bacon cheeseburger with fries while wifey went with oyster poboy with fries and cloe slaw. Also, i had ice tea. The bacon cheeseburger hit the spot. While FF were hot w/o being greasy. No small feat. Wife's oyster poboy was one of her best. Cole slaw was shredded with just the right amount mayo. The next time I have a hamburger craving I'll be sure and be back. Could use some cleaning especially condiment box. Service was good and everyone friendly

Very good service food was quite bland leaving me asking for more. Would only recommend to starving people that don't know where to eat.

Roshell's is where they have been for at least 20 years. Good plate lunches. Roshell does most of the cooking. Great burgers.

For instance, advised that my daughter was shy when the kid hesitated to order one day, the barista brightened up even more and put the girl at ease. Whether their coffee is good or not is completely subjective. I think it's good overall, but it might not be my first choice in town. But it's made with care, and as mentioned, roasted in house. Its popularity speaks to its quality. They also have a very good selection of pastries and other goodies to accompany your coffee, including a Mobile institution--cheesecake from a local company called Cotton Blues. The only gripe I have about Carpe Diem is their seating setup. There simply isn't enough of it. That said, I don't know how they could use the space more efficiently, since the cafe is small as it is. I prefer more private seating, which in other coffee houses I've been to has been accomplished with the judicious use of plants or high-backed chairs. The biggest component of the crowded seating is due to students from Springhill College across the street. Today, for instance, my husband and I were unable to find any seating at all. Even on the days when we can find seating, being entirely surrounded by people working quietly on their laptops feels awkward and lends a library-like feel to the atmosphere. It feels rude to have a conversation at a regular level. I feel like I'm intruding. I don't know how a coffee shop should handle this conundrum, as it's really not good business practice to limit customers' time while there, or to turn away clientele, even in an attempt to please all of their customers. There is already a back room which seems to be an unofficial space dedicated to students, but the overflow still takes up much of the cafe. That said, I enjoy Carpe Diem and going there is a nice little treat. I would definitely recommend it.

She brought full two biscuits, sliced with gravy and two eggs on top. We said that wasn't what we ordered. Just wanted one egg on the side. She kept saying the eggs are free. "but the eggs are free!" Whatever. We asked for two Carryout boxes to take the extra food. When she brought the bill she just kept standing there waiting then said "I'll take this." Like we weren't supposed to sit there and finish our food and coffee. So I gave her my card. She came back and presented two printouts. Customer copy said "paid in full." I asked if she had already charged my card she answered yes. I asked why I still had a merchant copy to put tip and add if up if she'd already charged me. She said it's ok I'll just add the tip in on the charge. After she had already run my card?!? How does that work? Do I get an additional copy to check what she charged? "No!" It was very confusing and stupid me, when she said they have to do it that way I just picked up my receipt and left. Should have made her rerun it. And, breakfast for two was $44!!! Will NOT be going back.
