It was OK. Good in a pinch, I guess. Here's the good and bad: Good: chicken schwarma saj with spicy garlic sauce. Tender chicken, well flavored and the sauce was indeed a little spicy. Not so good: Plate with kofta. Rice was plain white, arugula salad was 90% onion, hummus was bland and the kofta was thin and dry. Not worth the $

i ordered the chicken shawarma wrap and when i opened it up it just looked like a lazily prepared grease bomb. the pita was just sitting in grease. it wasn't press grilled, and wasnt cut in slices like they used to do it the past. no sauce, and the chicken was very dry. so basically i had an over cooked dry chicken grease bomb wrap. this is the second time in a row that i ordered this and was disappointed by the food quality. I tried to eat at least half since i already paid for it, but ended up throwing away the rest unfortunately. i will not be back and also cannot recommend this place, as I did not enjoy my food at all. Go to Madonna's instead.

I have been coming here for years whenever I work downtown. Always delicious, I always get the platter 1 with two proteins. The staff is super friendly as well. I wanted to shout them out this time because they changed their location replacing the Arby's on Liberty. They have gelled into this place perfectly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very clean interior, sharp and modern.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Menu was a little confusing but the customizable options were appreciated. You really have the chance to get a combo of your favorite middle eastern foods. My combo meal with chicken shawarma and babaganoush was good. My pita was rather chewy and not my favorite. It should include two sauces with the combo platter.

Great local place if you want a quick bite that isn't subway or jimmy johns. The gyro wrap was satisfying, excellent sauce. I had the falafel plate, which came with fries but I should have asked for rice. Be sure to ask for what you want with a plate. Easy gluten free stop. Staff was no nonsense. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Table was clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was fast.

Solid marks on the flavor. The chicken Shawarma was very good as was the rice and other sides. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bathrooms were not very clean[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and the menu is a little confusing for a first timer.

The service was very friendly and since I was waiting for my friend to arrive to order, he encouraged me to take a menu back to the table and relax while I waited for her. The food is so wonderful and almost everything on the menu looks good. I love how the wrap was served and need to get one next time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a typical counter service atmosphere. Nothing special. But good enough.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will definitely go back.

Fresh, healthy, and large portions of food. WOW, on a short work trip and found this gem to be a short walk from hotel. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was so calm and peaceful[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], I was greeted by 2 nice gentleman, one who patiently answered my questions from the menu. My order was cooked fresh and bagged securely. This has to be a must stop restaurant when in PIT!

What a charming little spot for some great Middle Eastern food! I stumbled upon this hidden gem walking from Dollar General towards a bus stop and knew I needed to try it. The prices are great, and the food is truly authentic. I had my food within five minutes of ordering, and the staff was very welcoming. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The warm and welcoming ambience mixed with the lovely soothing music, makes for the perfect atmosphere to tickle your taste buds and live in your senses.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Vero was amazing, and some thing a bit different from the traditional. I will definitely be back if I am in the area! I'll be releasing a TikTok about the experience very soon, so go follow @sadiemcfarland1 for all things Pittsburgh food!

This is a small 'fast food' style restaurant. There are about ten tables. The food is very good. The falafel are crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. I added hummus to my falafel pita wrap. It was delicious. We also got a chicken shawarma quesadilla. Yes. A quesadilla at a middle eastern restaurant! It was good, a little odd (cheese with shawarma....). Finally, got a gyro, replacing the tahini with cucumber yogurt sauce. Again, solid wraps. I'd definitely come here again. Great place for a quick bite before a ballgame!

Solid Mediterranean food option in downtown Pittsburgh. Friendly staff and easy to order menu with common Arabic and Mediterranean dishes.

My husband and I ate one lunch here. Indoor and covered outdoor seating was available. The employees promptly greeted and seated us, and I appreciated that they recommended specific menu items to help me choose. After a reasonable wait, the foods were brought to our table. Here are my ratings for what we ordered: Grilled Shrimp - 5 stars - Several large, juicy shrimp were on skewers and had been perfectly cooked. Sides were mixed vegetables and a mix of rice and bulgur. Chicken Shish Kebab - 4 stars - The chunks of chicken were large and juicy and had a mild seasoning. On the side was rice pilav. Turkish Tea - 4.5 stars - This black tea was a good size and was served hot. Packets of sweeteners were available. The total price was $55 plus tax and tip.

Falafel appetizer was very, very hard and chewy. Even with a serrated knife it was difficult to cut! Shepherd Salad was fresh but was mostly red and green bell peppers. Very little tomato or cucumber or onion which I was expecting. Not their fault but mine for not knowing about this salad. Again they were super nice and offered to take it back. Donor Kebab was over cooked. Dry. Chewy. Tzatziki sauce was fine. I ordered two extra mini-cups of tzatziki to help me finish the donor kebab. (Extra $1). Bread was very good. I ordered the Turkish Tea but it never came : (

It was my return to the dating scene after a few years in hiatus, would I be ready? Could things actually go right? Why did we pick this night to go out for the first time? Am I going to completely lose my mind? Well, the original plan was Tacayo and it was closed, but we strolled past it into this establishment with me not even knowing that we were in a totally different restaurant. I looked at the menu, this doesn't look like taco's at all, what is happening here? We called Tacayo to make sure in case they were open and we could still eat there. Nope, they were certainly closed. You know what? I took it in stride and said, "what the heck, I like mediterranean food." We were waited on and placed our orders, things seemed to be moving along nicely. The only problem being we had both ordered the falafel platter and my date calmly tells me that in the past she thinks she had an allergic reaction after she ate chick peas. I was like, well we better just inform our waiter and get something else. She says, no, that's o.k. I don't want to waste food. Ummm....you want to risk your own health so as not to waste food? As it turns out she at the falafel and was completely fine. So, truth be told I have had way better Middle Eastern food. You can tell that they are trying and they make the effort to please the customer, but the food that comes out is just o.k. For a date night it wasn't terrible, but it wasn't stellar. Am I single again? Of course I am. Did I have a good time? Absolutely. I wrote this back in January, but never published it till now. Hope you enjoyed reading it. Cheers, and here's to your health

The space is tiny and unassuming, and the restaurant seems to be a family run operation. The interior is much more nicely kept than you might guess based on the outside of the building. The staff were very friendly, and all of our food was well packaged. I strongly suggest taking a look at the "Persian Cuisine" section of the menu; in many cases, that section is more interesting than the Turkish grill. In terms of food, things ranged from excellent to pretty good. The hummus was good and nicely textured, but not exceptional. The kashke ve bademjan was excellent, particularly when paired with the nicely toasted flatbread it arrived with. The Mediterranean salad and Tabouli salad were both nicely done, with a nice level of lemon acidity and some shredded cheese on the side. The veggie kebap was fine, but generally flat in flavor: it really needed some of the sides and some hot sauce to fill things out. The red lentil soup was simple with a subtle spicing but ultimately deeply flavorful. The ash reshteh (noodle soup with beans and spinach) was generally good but would have benefited from toppings that would have probably been provided in a dine-in environment. All told, this was a nice little establishment with some excellent Mediterranean and Persian style cuisine. They seem to churn out some high quality food from what seems like a very small kitchen. I could imagine eating in or ordering takeout, but note that the interior space is fairly small with a limited capacity.
