Long line and when employee finally opened another register shoulda helped the next customer that was in line waiting but instead let the people in the back of the line jump over real quick. Rose's is a hit or miss kind of store. Like Ollie's, Gabe's, etc. They have a little of everything. I go there quite frequently and it is rare to walk out with nothing in your hand. I have bought outdoor furniture, winter coats, baby clothes, kitchenware, vegetable seeds, work clothes, rugs, dog beds, toys, dolls, lotions, you name it! And, quite surprisingly, I have NEVER been disappointed with anything I have bought. It's all about what you like and how you shop and what it is you are looking for in the product you are buying. If there is something I am looking for and it isn't on the shelf, all you have to do is ask an employee. Some products look cheaply made, so you don't buy them. Simple as that!! read more

The fact I'm the first person to review this place should tell you something. I walked into Roses one day around the holidays to see what kind of they sold. At first it reminded me of a Gabriel Brothers, but after more time inside I thought otherwise. This is perhaps one of the worst discount stores I've been to. It seemed dirty inside, had very cheaply made clothes, creepy religious stuff and just random housewares and junk food. I'm glad the mystery of what was inside has been solved, but it was a waste of time. Save yourself the trouble and just go to a Goodwill store or Big Lots. read more

I go to Roses occasionally, whenever I'm in a pinch and need something temporary as a replacement, be it a purse or jeans or whatever else. Everything is extremely, extremely cheaply made. For the price of the things at the store, mostly understandable, but the level of how cheap astounds me. I bought earbuds that broke within the first hour or using them, bought a purse that legit fell apart just because I was walking with it. Pretty ridiculous. Not to mention the random religious stuff everywhere that's kinda off-putting. Apart from the cheap items sold there, the store itself is catastrophically disgusting, especially in the bathrooms. I went in there, took one look at the bathroom and checked all the stalls, and not a single sign of toilet paper. The walls themselves were seemingly covered in literal human feces & everything was nasty beyond belief. It looked like no one had cleaned them for years. The only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is that the staff is very nice, apart from one bad experience. I enjoy going to the store, but mostly just as a joke. It has the kind of energy of a Walmart, but along with the vague sense of dread that comes along with the threat of possibly being skanked in one of the aisles. Another thing, which isn't necessarily the store's fault: really, really creepy people frequent the store. What a disappointment!!!!!!! Advertised hanging floral baskets. Got some last year and was very pleased. When I called hoping that maybe the shipment was delayed they said they are not getting any plants this year...then why have them in the advertisement!!! This store use to be worth while shopping at but has steadily gone down hill....and now it's to the point of not wasting your time. read more

Good ol' Roses! I love it! I haven't seen a Roses department store since i was a kid in the mid 80's in the mountains of western North Carolina. I thought they had all closed. I must admit, this rating is more for nostalgia reasons rather than a comment on their quality but I did get a REALLY nice laser pointer cat toy with three or four different lenses for $1.99!! Oh, and a plastic deviled egg tray for a dollar!! read more
