That is why I have started thrifting to see what is there and being done. The people that work at Fancy Unicorn are so nice and very helpful when you ask for help. I went in on a Thursday looking for an outfit for my senior photos on Friday and the lady was so nice helping me out and trying to find something that was me. After about an hour, I was able to find two outfits and I loved wearing them at my senior pictures. My last visit was today and I was looking for a Christmas present for my grandmother and I found the perfect present for her. I found her a candle that smelled like the woods and she loves the woods. I am getting her more, but it really helps when you can find some things for your relatives and it is not as expensive as other stores. And I found this beautiful coat that I fell in love with and it was only $20 and was in fantastic condition. If you are looking for affordable clothing for yourself or family or decorations, this is the best place to go.

That being said if you see something neat, make sure to pick it up or it might not be there when you come back! Never feels like a second hand store, very boutique-y feel! I was shocked when they said no returns - only store credit. The clerk looked t my receipt and admitted there was no return policy on the back as it should have been which was their mistake. In my opinion they should have a very visible sign stating their return policy or the clerk should inform you at check-out that there are no returns. Even if my receipt had been properly stamped the purchase has already been completed.

As a consignor: The young lady running the shop was pleasant and very professional when I scheduled and arrived at my consignment appointment. She was helpful and courteous, and I'm happy with the prices she put on my items. As a shopper: They have a great selection and range of all sorts of stuff at really fair prices. I found some really great values! They happened to have a pair of shoes that I've been wanting for awhile. They are brand new for such a good deal! I'm so so happy! I also found a smoking hot outfit that's perfect on my mom for a total of $16! She's so thrilled with it!! In summation, check out this little gem, tucked away in the countryside if you're a lady or guy who likes to bargain shop! Don't miss the men's section off to the side of the women's department. Yeah, this place is very large! Lots of racks to explore. Be prepared to sort through racks, like at a thrift store. Lots of room means lots of selection. They have a focus on biker gear- Harley stuff and leathers at the front of the store. Explore the interior rooms for cocktail dresses, gowns, fur coats, suits for women, new Uggs, camo/outdoorsman gear. The end.

Since most places here seem only to have a few reviews each, I thought I would make it a personal project to review each place I try to help fellow travelers in their searches. I was shocked to find this place had such low reviews; I found it absolutely refreshing to find such a beautifully curated shop with clothes and jewelry that really spoke to my interests. Most of the one star reviews said they felt ignored when they visited, and maybe that's where I differ from other shoppers as I prefer to take my time and have the space to do so. When I started a conversation with her, we had a lovely chat and she was very warm and kind. I am tempted to keep this gem to myself but my conscience won't let me do that...this is a place you should definitely make a regular haunt.

Somedays when I had a quiet afternoon and I needed a gift or a reason to cheer myself up that was in walking distance, I would go to the Clothes Vine. The owner and her daughter are the nicest people in the world. The shop stocks unique apparel in a range of sizes which is fabulous and you can get something beautiful, wearable, and not totally fruity at the shop. I particularly love her Fall/Winter clothing which always has a vintage feel, it's chic without being impractical to wear and makes you feel like a lady. I'm sure it would be the perfect place to get a dress for a wedding, graduation, etc. in the Spring. The windows are always a treat, too! In addition to the clothing, there are also hats, accessories, some household items, and beautiful jewelry. Very unique, funky, and affordable jewelry. I got my Mother her Mother's Day/Birthday present there on two occasions and both pieces are in Mum's favourite jewelry collections. It's the most gorgeous shop downtown. Sometimes I forget that it's there, because I am so programmed to go to the mall or go on-line to shop on-line at Boden (a similar-type shop). Excellent selection of American-made products including Allen Edmonds shoes, slacks or khakis (Bills Khakis, Keithmoor/Coppley, etc.), suits (Joseph Abboud, Canali, Tallia), most other things. A lot of fancy Italian sweaters by brands like Scott Barber. Periodic sales make some products almost affordable for a poor student like myself. Minus points for some of their brands. Stuff like Nat Nast or Vineyard Fines or Robert Talbott (the third is rather attractive but all three are grossly overpriced-- anywhere, definitely not limited to TMB). With the exception of TMB's selection of shirts (Gitman and Canali are way out of my price range but Enro has gone downhill in recent years), I think that TMB is probably way ahead of Fillings, Lancaster's other clothier, in most respects. People are also a fair amount friendlier here than at Fillings. Definitely worth a visit if you're in need of any fine additions to your wardrobe-- or just to have a look.
