Oyster creek lies on the other side of the levee. Where it is well maintained and perfect for fishing or just relaxing and listening to the sounds of nature. I was delighted to find out about the covered spots. What a relief from the Texas heat, and to be able to comfortably sit outside during a nice rain storm. I'm lucky enough to work at the beach, which is a very short yet beautiful drive down levee rd. The owner Rodney can be seen riding through the park checking on various things and visiting with the guests. You can tell he really cares about the park and I'm so thankful that he shares his small slice of heaven with myself and others. Green acres is the place to be, trailer living is the life for me. The staff is attentive and welcoming. The rental properties are brilliantly designed. The attention to details is incredible. My grandkids literally shrieked and gasped with delight when they entered. The owners designs puts the other properties to shame. I highly recommend The Heavenly Views rental properties for those who want to get away and unwind....I mean c'mon just the memory of the sound of the ocean puts me in a wonderfully peaceful mood. No real issues…read more However, when we got there, someone else's flip flops were waiting to say hello at the top of the stairs...so to the bottom of the stairs they went...there were clothes left in the dryer from a previous tenant. There were dirty dishes in the dishwasher. The house has a lovely beach feel to the house, until you pull back the covers on the bed and then the sheets look like my great grandmother lives there (ok no big deal) however, I don't know if someone else has been sleeping in those sheets?? We stay in Surfside 3 or 4 times a year. We have stayed at various houses and they always put the sheets folded at the end of the bed to ensure the house guests knows the sheets are fresh. At any rate, the house that we normally now rent at was booked. So we chose Mr. Zuhair Hillail's property, Truly Heaven on the Beach at 123 Carlton, Surfside Beach, Texas 94103. When we got there and got all set up, we went to turn on the tv in the master bedroom upstairs and it wouldn't work. After about 1 hour, we texted Zuhair, the owner, and he said he would be "on the island later", he lives in Houston, and would come by. We then got it working and told him never mind, we got it worked out. Next thing we know, we are outside and this jeep pulls up and someone starts hollering at us. IT IS THE OWNER. What? What is he doing here...ok maybe he didn't understand we didn't need him. He comes upstairs and my husband shows him the tv is working ok and then he leaves. A little while later he drives by again!!!! (oh and then tv quit working again....we spent the whole week using our laptop. And let's not even discuss the internet....hardly ever worked...so we didn't have TV most of the time (no big deal) but I also needed to get some work done, the internet SUCKED). The next day what happens? Well glad you asked! The owner shows up again, this time to just to get fishing gear out his garage. I told my husband then and there that I thought this behavior was very strange, to the point of CREEPY. In my humble opinion, he had no business, unless it was an emergency, coming to the house that we rented, without some kind of notice. And then he drives by trying to be discreet...dude we see you! Anyways, we leave and leave the house in better condition than we got it. He calls my husband and BEGS him to talk to me to not leave him a review. Anything less than a 5 star would kill his business, he says. My husband tells him, just call my wife let her tell you her concerns and she won't even leave a review. That was June 4 and today is June 9. I'm writing this because he never called me. Oh and I cannot leave a review on the booking website VRBO because he cancelled our reservation so that I couldn't leave a review. So I am leaving reviews everywhere else I can think of. Having stayed in parks from Seattle to here, I don't say that lightly. The beautiful oak trees provided a neverending stream of unique birds that were very amusing. The proximity to the gulf provided a great place to relax with a cool breeze. Scanning other parks close by showed us another beautiful place with a 450.00all inclusive rent. We are grandfathered in so our rent won't ever change. As a cancer patient I make several trips for treatment in Houston. There is a clinic close by. Fuel prices are .30less in the area and that adds up. On fixed incomes, this made the move too hard to resist. So with a heavy heart I leave this review and move on. Love to all. Mike and Rosie

I was thankful I always have mine. The management is very nice and accommodating. The place needs a little updating but for the price you pay and the comfortable bed I would stay again and usually only stay at higher end places. We ended up at this inn not knowing there was name brand accommodations within the town as IT didn't come up when I searched the town as it had opened recently. I'm glad as I would differently stay at this inn again. The railroad tracks are very close so that is a negative for it. It has a nice sitting area for those that smoke. It's pet friendly and an actual grass area for pets.

My family and I spent about a week here this summer. It's not a huge beach house, but it's well…read morekept with a beautiful view. It's not right on the beach, but about a lot back. There is no house currently in front of it, so you can sit on your balcony and watch the Gulf and feel the breeze. Because of it's location, you don't have to fight with the hustle and bustle of Galveston during the summer. As a fisherman, you can fish right out in front of the house if you are up with fighting strong currents, and climbing over rocks. There seems to be a deep hole that boats crowd around early in the morning, in which they seem to be catching loads of speckled trout. Beach access is just down the road from the house with a little bridge to cross. You can also drive on the beach roughly 2 miles down, or head to the bay side in that same location. Don't forget, you are nearly on San Luis pass, so that's always an option, and there is a bait shop right there. There is a great chance that we will return to this house next year, or possibly try out one of the owners other locations.

It was nice and quiet so made for a lovely vacation. The management were friendly and helpful. The park has a doggie park, with a bench to sit and enjoy. We used their sheltered tables, to sit out and enjoy our surroundings. It is close to eating establishments, shops, and entertainment. The beaches were only a short drive away. Highly recommend using this RV park, and the price was very reasonable, with full hook-ups. We will certainly be using this park on our future visits to Freeport.

The issue wasn't the room, it was the attitude. The way I was spoken to was so dismissive that you would think I was asking for something outrageous, not trying to pay for a room. I was looking for information, not an argument, but apparently basic customer service was too much to expect. It's interesting that a business in the hospitality industry can make a potential paying customer feel like an inconvenience before they've even walked through the door. No worries, I'll gladly take my money somewhere else. I wouldn't want to bother a business that seems to have no interest in welcoming customers. Hopefully the next person calling gets treated with a little more respect.
