This was my first time here and I've never ridden a horse in my life so I was a little nervous…read moreabout riding a horse by myself. I was extremely nervous that my horse might be startled by something and take off or even worse, get on its hind legs and cause me to fall off. Fortunately, none of that happened. All of their horses seem highly trained and well-behaved. It also helped seeing young kids on the horses by themselves. The Adventure Trail Rides are great for almost everyone. Beginners, experienced riders, young kids, and seniors. I've seen kids as young as 5-10 years old (I'm not great at guessing kids' ages) all the way to super seniors adults. Based on your reservation and check-in details, they will match you up with a suitable horse that matches your height and experience level. Most of the staff are friendly and very helpful. For the most part, they made me feel really safe. I also like their system of operation. After checking in at the barn, you select your helmet. Then when it's time, they call you up and introduce you to your horse. Before the trail ride, a staff member will provide you with a brief lesson on how to maneuver the horse and ride safely. After that, they really give you complete control of your horse. The trails offer plenty of shaded areas, which is great for those of us who prefer to avoid the sun's harsh rays. Gotta keep those wrinkles at bay! Lots of parking and parking is free. I had an amazing experience and plan to return so my super senior mom can finally try riding a horse. My only minor complaint is that I didn't receive the appropriate care and training that my friends did because my trainer is deaf. While I understand that he has communication limitations, he was not very friendly or patient. Perhaps management could assign another person to check in on him if they pair him with a beginner or simply just pair him with an experienced rider. I was quite nervous and if I weren't for my friend who is experience in riding, I would have been much more anxious. Note: You MUST wear denim jeans to ride and reservation is required. Reserve online on their website.

I missed the exit to turn into to get to the ranch, I may have missed the sign on the road, but my GPS eventually got me there, lol Upon arrival there's plenty of parking. The email has super specific instructions for your arrival. Including arriving 30 minutes before your ride time. I got there about 20 minutes beforehand and that was plenty of time. If you come with a group belive entire party has to be present to check in together. $68 bucks for a group ride rate per person. If you miss the email or forget all of the steps just look for the check in desk and they will go over everything. You must wear a helmet to ride, for your protection. And they offer free bandanas to protect your hair (and for sanitary reasons) from the helmet, that was nice. They match up the horse with each individual, I think based on height and weight. That takes about 15 min to get everyone matched and saddled up for the ride. The trail is covered by trees in the forrest, but it's still hot out in the elements, so be sure to hydrate before and after. Pro's -Quality time to get to know your horse before and after the ride - zero riding experience required, but does help -staff for most part friendly, willing to take pics for you in and off the horse - children, and special needs folks are welcome Cons - possible emergencies will cut your ride short - riding instruction only given to the front of the large group not the back - ride may not start on time, so give yourself extra cushion time if you make time sensitive plans after. Tip not required, bur encouraged. Overall a fun experience. But may do a private ride in future to get more detailed and intimate instructions. Enjoy!

Very happy with my horses care!!…read more I moved my 2 horses to Freeman Stables just about 3 months ago all the way from NY and arrived at 5am and all the workers were already in the barn cleaning feeding and bringing horses in from turnout. In the summer they go out at 4pm and come in at 4am to beat the heat which I love. They were super great with the feeding process when I was transitioning my horses onto the new feed. My one horse had just started to colic the early afternoon on arrival from the long trailer drive and they called me to inform me so I drove out and gave her banamine. One of the workers had even went out at 9pm that night after hours just to FaceTime me to show me my horse was doing much much better and was okay. They all have fans in their stalls and the care is top notch. My horses receive their supplants/meds everyday. I cannot say enough about how well the workers care for my horses. There are many places/rings to ride including a large jump field and the owner allows you to ride anywhere on the entire property which is over 900 acres. Lots of turnout space. The owner is very friendly and he bales his own hay on the property and the quality is very nice. Overall super happy with this barn and recommend to anyone needing a barn for their horses!

Learned that the Freeman family were one of the first families to live here in Katy Texas and soon found out they had a high school here named after them. Was promoted to do more research, which of course led me to their ranch ! Seemingly enough I've always wanted to ride horses so I got in contact with the owner and he offered to give me a tour and ride a horse. He was a very kind and welcoming man and gave such a cool tour. Such a fun experience and definitely didn't expect the whole venture to be so smooth, thanks to Mr. Derek and his crew.

Words can't describe our experience with this ranch!!!…read more Darrell was fantastic to help me coordinate this surprise ride for my sisters birthday and my nephews to go for the first time. Our ride was stunning across the fields and trails on the ranch. And they even picked up my dad in the 4-wheeler to feed the cows while we were horse riding so he felt he could be a part of the day (we had purchased feed for the cows ahead). The entire family enjoyed the ride itself, the guides helped us take photos. Next time we would consider staying in the cabins on the ranch. Thank you a million times, it was worth the further drive for the experience itself!!!

I came here for a wedding and stayed on the property. We were flying in and arrived late at night…read more(or should I say early in the morning...3am) and it was no problem getting in as there is a code on the locked gate. The driveway was dark, but the cabins were well lit and don't lock. We stayed in one of the 4 identical cabins. The accommodations were nice and had a loft upstairs with two twins. It is a steep ladder and great for kids, but not for adults. The decor was western and featured some taxidermy. This scared some of the little kids we knew at the wedding. The bathroom and main bedroom were a decent size and the kitchenette had a mini fridge and coffee machine, along with the living area with a small TV and chairs/small couch. The grounds were beautiful and was a true farm. The pool was great for the kids and the waterfall made it feel fancy. I loved the open greenery and the animals that roamed, along with the ponies and goats that you could get close to. There is a covered pavilion near the pool that was a hang out spot for our crew. The wedding itself was in the grass next to the reception venue, since it was too wet to have it down in the pasture. The reception venue was large and had high ceilings. The food was pretty good and the two outdoor firepit areas right outside became a place for guests to step out as well. Parking is in a grass lot so beware the shoes you where, especially if it has rained recently.
