I took my son to TXR for his birthday. I didn't purchase a birthday package but instead paid for a few kids. They had a great time and played almost all day. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Played here today with my son for the first time in many years. I was very impressed by the number of refs per game and the professionalism of each ref. They are very good. Much better than a few other places I have played. The facility is large with lots of different fields and the prices are comparable to other places. Definitely recommend this place for parties or just to come out by yourself and join in the general group games. read more

Amazing family owned business that has a great history in the community. The refs are well trained and extremely knowledgeable. The moment you walk in you are greeted by two extremely kind ladies who go out of their way to help you and make sure you know what to do, after you pay you are put in a safety video which is very informational and interactive. The equipment is kept very clean and sterilized regularly ( I made sure to ask) . There are six fields and my group loved the fact that they had options. Make sure to bring a lot of water and snacks especially if you plan to stay the whole day!! read more

To be honest, It aint that bad. It's just the ref. The way she act to me isn't very good in general. There's this one girl as a ref when I was playing, warned me 3 time to put on the mask, each time getting more irritated. I hate this because the sweat, eczema, paint, and someone yelling at me is the worst combination I can get in my entire life. But besides the rude and annoying ref, overall this place is amazing. The weapons, the attire, very high quality. I love the way they operate. Nice people (besides the ref) are all around the area. I kinda have to let go of the positives for a sec on the gear. Itchy, irritating and reacting my eczema. Body armor does nothing, and mask, oh boy. That all I gotta say, I say that ref really needs some happiness in her life. read more

After visiting several different parks in Houston with my son. Finally this park has it all that we where looking for. The courses where all clean & safe with lots of very helpful refs. We got a Groupon for $15 for two players total (included 100 paintballs, mask, unlimited CO2, and four games each person) which was a pretty sweet deal. So lets start with my boyfriend and I came here on a Friday night at 7:30pm-ish and there were about 10 people already there (not too big of a crowd). You check in at a trailer and there the staff goes over the rules with you. There are several "fields" to play on (woods, barrels, and big moon puffy things). We got to play in the woods and barrel field (so we only played two games and it was already 9:00ish. Woods- My favorite, we were in a marked wood area with two team bases, and one "neutral" zone where they had a briefcase "bomb". The objective of the match was to carry the case from the neutral zone to enemy line. Which was a little trick since there were so many trees and hiding spots. First, round my bf and I got out within 2 minutes. The guys that were already there didn't held back, but were super nice! Second round I went solo camping in the wood while my bf stayed at base and it was super intense and interest. I really enjoyed the wait of the game and pushing to gain grounds. Barrel- My boyfriend's favorite, the objective here was just team kill. 4v4 and you just continue to push forward until you hit all the opponents. I was a little scared since you can't go in the barrel, and it was pretty open so you couldn't exactly "hide", just use the barrel as shields and push forward. Overall, the staffs were really nice here as well as the other players. They kept asking if we had fun and made sure we knew how to play. The other players even helped me put my paintball in the gun (or else I would have dropped all of them) and asked if I wanted a vest. I didn't personally use a vest and only got shot twice (foot and leg). It didn't really seem to hurt and I wouldn't have notice if I wasn't standing still, but my bf got shot six times (all upper body; torso and up) and it left welts! So if you bruise easily then I suggest getting a vest. ADVISE: -Wearing jeans and long sleeves (of course) because you may want to crawl on the floor and dark colors! (Some guys wore neon green and I could spot them so easily) -You are allowed to bring your own cooler with drinks in case you get thirsty so do so! -Five dollar minimum credit card charge (but 100 paintballs are $8 so you can just buy a pack while you get a drink since they don't allow outside paintballs) -Go when there's sun, the place isn't that lit, and it may be hard to spot other players (almost everyone was in camouflage here) -100 paintballs each lasted us the entire 1.5 hours/2 games we were there with some extra to give to other players at the end! So don't over buy on paintballs until you're low -Memorize who is on your team because friendly shots do count! read more

Second time here! Party of 6 so we had to join the main group...some of these guys are really good, so beware. Anyways, truly had a blast. Came when it is was cold and field had big puddles/muddy from the weather few days before; however, after awhile, you just forget about it all when you are having fun. The obstacles/games were fun and intense. Staff and everyone else there were friendly and great to be around. One con, purchasing the paintballs there were expensive; you are required to use their paintballs. Addicting as it is, next thing you know you are broke lol. I had an epic time at TXR paintball! I hadn't played paintball since I was 16. I'm slowly getting reacquainted with the game so I drove down today from College Station to spectate a 2VS2 tournament they had going on. After the tournament was over some other speed ball players were gearing up some practice. I eagerly joined in on the practice and had a great time! I STRONGLY recommend this place to first time paintball players and amateurs a like. The entire place was very well set up and very inviting! The shop had everything you would could think of. They had probably 60 people just playing paintball with birthday parties and group events. If you'd like to try something new and you've never played paintball before I highly recommend this place! ! ! Update on review! November 2017. I would like to say that going to this field is a bad idea! I walked into their trailer to sign up and was NOT greeted by anyone inside. When the one guy sitting behind the counter did speak to me it was as if he just woke up a few hours prior to drinking his Friday night away. I approached him about the fact that the paintball field is a field paint only establishment. Now let me say I have no problem with this if I was aware of it prior and the prices were affordable. But after looking up the field online and seeing no where on there that it was field paint only I purchased mine at another local shop for a price where I bought two cases to the price of one case at the field. Back to the guy ( because he was not a gentleman) behind the counter. He made sure that he expressed that it was field paint only to me and that it was clearly on the website. I was not about to spend $150.00 on two cases of paint to play for the day when I spend $60 for the two in my truck. The other two younger people in the trailer wanted nothing to do with future customers and neither did the bearded guy. I am sad to say that I just moved here from across the country and was extremely excited to find a field so close to my house that I could and would want to play every weekend, but due to this one event TXR has lost a loyal customer willing to spend his paychecks at their establishment. Good luck to anyone who chooses to play on this field at the high cost of field paint. In the event they change their policies or prices of paint I would consider playing at their field. read more

My wife decided to have the whole family here for my birthday and everyone had a blast. The entire staff was pretty knowledgeable and very friendly. Best courses are the woods and the section with the train. Don't take anyone out there that can't handle a little bit of pain, I watched a few people give up because it hurt to bad for them. Today was my second time back after a 12 year hiatus from paintball, both times to TXR Paintball. The first visit, I purchased a new marker, and had nothing but problems. Today, after those problems persisted on the second day of use (three weeks), the owner promptly went above and beyond in my opinion and made up for the defective gear I purchased (nothing he could have known, it was a reputable brand). I upgraded two pieces of equipment at this time, and was back in the game. Unlike other fields that I have played at, the refs are actually attentive to the players safety at all times as well as to ensure everyone plays fairly. The repair deck/filling station customer service has been absolutely top notch...unfortunately I think the know me by sight now. Gracious, knowledgeable, and again attentive to the customers to get them back on the field spraying paint at each other. It's rare that I see customer service like this anymore, and Kudos to Darrell and his team for another great family day experience with the my kids. If you've never been paintballing before, this is the place to try it out at. My three older kids have had a blast here and are starting to bring friends with them when we play. I've played about a half dozen fields, and TXR in my opinion has a great balance of types of fields and a great balance of talent among those who play there. Two small minor critiques: Try to fill in the mud pits at the bunkers on speed rounds, and please speed up the rounds for main group (more games = more balls shot. ;) Darrell, for the record, I LOVE the Empire Axe. Even someone who is as useless with their hands as I am, was able to strip it down and clean it and get it ready for its next use. Thank you again for that recommendation. read more

My first time ever paint balling and was very excited! I wore a sweatshirt and Nike shorts hoping that was going to be good enough... I got there everyone was super sweet helped us a lot !!! But once I got to the field I told a ref I've never played and I'm nervous and when I was the last person someone was charging me and the nice ref goes take it easy on her and a girl ref goes no she wore booty shorts she deserves to get hit... as someone who was super excited to play and never played I felt disrespected. This is my first time to a Houston paintball facility and had an amazing time! I went with some cousin's on 8/1 with a Groupon deal. The paintball is a bit pricier than another place I went to, but nothing significantly more. The staff is very friendly and helpful! We played with a group of maybe 30 people and it was hectic, fun, and exhilarating. Each map was really fun and you get a round on each side. However, after the game ends there is a break in between. I did not enjoy the waits in between since they were about 5-10 minutes long. I understand it allows others to join the game, but personally I just felt like my adrenaline was on a roller coaster ride. During the game it would be at an all time high, after I would be dawdling until the next game started. Overall, I enjoyed my time here and would definitely recommend people to come here. Took my son and a small group of his friends to TXR for his birthday yesterday. It was our first time. Could not have been happier with this place. The sign in / waiver process was relatively quick. The were very accommodating to us with no pre-booking arrangements. Very cordial and knowledgeable staff. The facilities were great and offered lots of options. The boys left very happy and so did I. This is a fantastic paintball field! I have been playing here for years. Sometimes for recball (recreational) and sometimes for big scenario games. I never miss out on a Viper scenario game there. The field has a great mix of woods and urban/speedball style fields. They have a big castle that is lots of fun, ravines, deep woods, roads, trails and plenty of bunkers. The staff is great and the refs are good and make sure you follow the rules and ensure a safe experience. If you have never played here, you will be in for a real treat. read more

We took a small group of boys over but weren't attached to a party. Seeing a lot more experience and older players getting ready for the general game, I got really nervous that our group wasn't going to have a very enjoyable time. TXR was very understanding and their staff responded quickly, pairing up our group with a few other first timer groups, and all had a blast. There is absolutely nothing bad I can say about TXR. Their fields are always clean , the staff is great and the people that go there are very nice. One time I had issues with my gun and a guy that was hanging around with the staff used about an hour of his time to pull apart my gun and fix it . The paintball community in TXR is great. Today I went here for a birthday party and couldn't have asked for a better experience. They had us all check in and made sure our waivers were signed in a timely manner. The front desk gave us time estimates of how everything would run and they were very accurate. Everyone was very friendly and the ref, Diego, we had assigned to us was the best part of it all. He had us watch the safety video and had us outside with equipment in minutes. During the whole time he just meshed very well with our group. Making sure we were all taken care of and ready for each round. He was basically apart of our group he just meshed so well. At the end of the day we all had an amazing time and if you are looking for somewhere to paintball this is the place to go! read more

A group of 11 of us showed up around 2 on a Sunday to celebrate a friends birthday. Unfortunately for us we didn't book a large party or call ahead assuming Sunday's wouldn't be very busy. We were very wrong they were out of rentals and took our name to try and squeeze us in because they had a large number of private parties. That's the end of the negatives because the customer service at this place was amazing. Being from a very small town I miss small town hospitality living in Houston, but this place has it. The girls behind the desk taking names were more than happy to talk to us about events that they host and explain all the different cool paintball guns hanging on the walls. Even the owner came and chatted with us for a little while during our wait. We ended up waiting 2 hours before we got to play but were informed that since we waited so long we could get a little extra playing time in order to use all the paint we paid for. ( you can't bring your own paint, something we found out the hard way). Despite the long wait and us not thinking about bringing coolers with water and snacks, which we will definitely do next time, this place has some of the best customer service I've ever experienced. Every single staff member we dealt with was friendly and helpful. Other than the great customer service the prices and the great courses to play will definitely keep me and my friends coming back here. read more

First time for my family and I there and we had a blast! Everyone who worked there was super friendly. I purchased a groupon and it was totally worth it. My boys were both praised by some veteran paintballers on there skill of playing and tactics. Great environment and people all around. We played 2 matches in every section ( 4 ) . I personally like the breaks between because running around in the blazing sun and humidity wears you down especially with gear and gun in hand. It allows you to cool down grab a drink under the shade and catch a breather. Even my wife played . We had tons of fun a little underdressed for this type of sport . We did get some bruising here and there but that's to be expected and was even explained by the refs . It gets intense out there. We left with huge smiles and as a happier family . We bought shirts and have decided to return possibly bi weekly every month . This place is fun. read more
