They ended the day by painting the ponies' sides on the property (paint washes off and is harmless to the animals). There are also a few friendly dogs on the property that interacted with us. I have been to most of the barns in the area and never felt tempted in the slightest to leave.

I took my daughter to Sneak Away Riding Club on Huffmesiter yesterday for a fun, introductory…read morelesson. The trainer, Yvette was harsh and negative with all of the instruction with my daughter (under the age of 10). She made her feel that she did nothing right and responded with sarcasm or negativity. She also took a horse brush from my daughter twice and without permission touched it to her back, once, to demonstrate to her how she was doing it wrong, then again, to her face, near her eye. I will repeat that....She took an unsanitized brush that was on various parts of the horse from a bucket and rubbed it on her face saying that it is how it feels to the horse. This is unacceptable. Not only do you not touch a minor without permission but that could have led to an infection. Her face had bristle marks on it and she felt like she had a bruise. My daughter left in tears and her self esteem for something fun was completely obliterated. She also removed the reigns (this was her 1st lesson with this instructor) and told her she was not balanced. She was scared. I do not feel that this person should be working with children.

This is an absolutely beautiful and very special place to visit located in Katy, Texas. We had a…read morewonderful visit with two small kiddos (ages 5 & 8) and they loved every minute of their experience here. Our small group started with miniature pony brushing and then got to dress up their animals in various accessories. From there they got on smaller horses with a guide leading them and learned basic skills, like stopping (whoa) and had a lot of fun riding around the enclosed area circle. They even played a few games like red light green light. After that they learned to walk with the miniature ponies and even got to take them over a jump and through an obstacle course. We then finished the day with a little carriage ride with the owner, Paige. The highlight of their visit (they said later) was learning to clean out a horse stall. Who knew they loved cleaning so much! All of the guides were wonderful. The main gal that did the instructing was just so lovely and sweet to the kids explaining everything with patience. Definitely a must visit for anyone looking for this kind of experience in the area.
