I rarely leave negative reviews, but our experience with Rose Remodeling has been one of the most frustrating home improvement experiences we've ever had.
Our shower replacement was completed in late January, and here we are in July, and the project is STILL not finished correctly.
The installation was originally scheduled to take two days. Instead, it took an entire week. The delays weren't because of unforeseen circumstances--they were because the contractors were frequently late or not at our home when they were supposed to be. On multiple occasions, the city inspector showed up with questions, but no contractor was there, leaving me to answer questions about work I wasn't performing.
One of the reasons we chose Rose Remodeling was because they advertise that they use their own contractors. That couldn't have been further from our experience. Every person who has come to our house has been someone different. To make matters worse, one of the contractors actually handed me his personal business card and told me to call him directly for future projects because Rose "upcharges." That was incredibly unprofessional and did not inspire confidence in the company.
When the shower was finally completed, the niche was installed in the wrong color. Rose agreed to replace it, but during that repair they damaged one of the shower panels, leaving visible bubbles in the wall. That issue remains unresolved months later despite multiple service visits.
During the original installation, the contractors also cracked one of our bathroom floor tiles. I understand accidents happen during construction. What I don't understand is why no one told us. Instead, they simply caulked the cracked tile back together and hoped we wouldn't notice. When I discovered it and contacted Rose, they offered to replace it with a tile that didn't even match our existing floor. I declined because I wasn't going to make my bathroom look worse. They refunded us $100, which I appreciated, but I would have much preferred honesty and communication from the beginning instead of an attempt to hide the damage.
Now, after all of that, our brand-new shower has started leaking from the bottom. Multiple people have come out to recaulk it, yet the leak continues. A new shower should not be leaking just a few months after installation, and temporary fixes clearly aren't solving the underlying problem.
What should have been a simple two-day bathroom project has turned into a six-month ordeal filled with poor workmanship, lack of communication, repeated repairs, and constant inconvenience. We've had countless different contractors in and out of our home, and we're still left with an unfinished, leaking shower.
I cannot recommend Rose Remodeling based on our experience. If you're considering hiring them, I would strongly encourage you to think twice. We expected quality workmanship and professional service. Instead, we received excuses, repeated problems, and a project that still isn't complete. read more
