My review is 8 years, 4 months, and 11 days late, but as they say "better late than never." right? LOL My daughter got married @ The Battery Park Gardens Restaurant at the tip of the Big Apple right on the Hudson River. The ironic situation is was a week after Hurricane Irene, my wife's name. A deposit was already put down and we thought oh well there goes the money! A call was made and the owner said "you are still on" and I believe that was the only spot that wasn't damaged in the area, which was quite amazing!! Prior to that situation, my daughter had called another florist, but since I had been purchasing flowers from them for at least 35+ years, I told her before committing to your florist call The Rose Connection and see what they can do for you! Well, Voila, not only were they more competitive, they not only delivered way in advance to set them up but they were cordial, nice, and the most wonderful guys you would ever want to meet and their disposition was outstanding and superb, like happy campers; not unlike many companies back them and probably more challenging today with the Covid-19 Pandemic raging in NYC and Long Island which is understanding. and I almost wanted to invite them to the wedding, but obviously, couldn't. Rose Connection provided flowers for my grandfather's wake. They used fresh flowers and did some beautiful work. My grandfather was a saxophone player back in the day so we wanted some flowers to reflect that. They did a great job. It looked like a portrait of a saxophone only made out of flowers and greens. They also handled the standard things like a heart and cross. Their prices were in line with others and we were quite happy with what they provided. read more

I went to Rose Connection last Monday to help my dad order 54 stems of roses for my parents' wedding anniversary to pick up on Saturday. The guy at the florist told me I don't have to order in advance and I can just walk in on Saturday to buy the roses for $30 a dozen. I even asked him what time they open and he said 8:30am. Saturday came and I went there at 8:45am and the shop was closed. I waited outside until 9:10 and was still closed. I called constantly until 9:30am and no one answered and I had no choice but to buy the 54 stems of roses elsewhere. I whined up paying $3 per stem and was able to get my bouquet in a half hour. If the shop is going to be close, don't tell customers it will be open. read more

After a series of very frustrating floral appointments for our June 29th wedding, Janine was a blessing! She came highly recommended from multiple friends and family. The shop is off of the LIE service road and very easy to get to. The floral selection in-house was always amazing on each of our visits. While it does not have a fancy office/showroom, they also will not give you proposals for thousands of dollars over your budget with upcharges every chance they get. (which we unfortunately experienced with 3 other highly reviewed vendors). Janine and her staff are professional and willing to help every step of the way. It was very clear right from the start, she did not try to overcharge or take advantage of us in any way. She was very patient and really took the time to understand what we were looking for and to work with us. She was always flexible and readily available for anything that came up. Not only did she realize our vision, add our very special personal touches, but she took all of our wedding floral needs beyond our own expectations! This place is so unprofessional,it was such a waste of my time and trip to go there from NJ. I went there , People were too busy to help and they give me their manager phone number. I used to come here once a week for flowers for my wife, and when we moved away I would use them for events. 10-20 dozen at a time. They used to be really nice to me, and would even let me bring my dogs in. However recently I tired to order 10 dozen roses and...I got blown off on the phone 4 times. "call next week" "call later" "call back when a manager is in" " oh just come in and we'll make them for you" Meanwhile finding it difficult to get a word in edge wise. I won't be using them again, it's not worth the effort. They're too many good florists in NYC that I should have to deal with this sort of attitude from an out of the way place. read more

I've been buying rose bouquets for my wife from this place for nine years now. I've also bought flowers/roses for my mom, my sister and my mother-in-law; basically I go there for all my floral needs. They offer the best prices around and do a very good job at designing whatever it is that you are looking for. Everyone has always loved the flowers/roses that I've given them. Today is my nine year anniversary and I wanted to get a rose bouquet for my wife so I ended up going to a local florist in downtown area where I work because I knew I wouldn't be able to make it to this place. Big mistake, they charged me $92 dollars for a bouquet...what a ripoff. The first thought that came to my mind was 'damn I should've figured out a way to get this place somehow and I would've saved myself ton of money' which could've been used for the dinner later in the evening.
