I've never been inside this bakery but I know it's been here for years. I hate that I'm only discovering it now because I live so close. One day, as fate would have it, I walked in with my best gal pal because she wanted to buy some pastries for her family visiting grandpa at Valley Presbyterian Hospital. It's small inside but they have quite a bit of pastries to feast your eyes on. Like I said before...it's got BIG personality. :) Of course, i set my eyes on the chocolate rugala. it looked so yummy and it was! :) Not too sweet, just right and I can't wait to buy more. They charge these little pastries $10.00 by the pound but I only had one which was enough for me (Thanks to my gal pal.). The staff was very helpful and patient with us, especially since we were trying to figure out what to get and asking questions. LOL Also, thanks to yelp for the 10% off on the purchase. Woot! Their specialty cakes look awesome. I'd love to get one. Hmm...maybe for one of my girls' 29 (again) birthday?!?! LOL Or maybe one for myself...see you soon! read more

July 17: Today was my mother-in-law's birthday and the usual spot to get a cake is ....Porto's but this year I wanted to try something different where I try new food places. One thing is for sure, I'm not a baker. Do not ask me to bake because I will fail at that task. I was driving back home from a nice day at work and i really wanted to get a cake for my in law. So I asked google for a list of locations and Roses bakery popped up so I had to try it. Everyone at home LOVED the cake. The sponge of the cake was just perfect, the flavors were my favorite, mocha chocolate. Everything was balanced and I will be coming back for some mocha chocolate Thank you! read more

Have gotten cakes here for 4+ years. Last two years we have gotten pretty bad cakes. Gave them one last try and was disappointed. Lady taking the orders In store is not friendly at all. The picture shows you what I've got in last two cakes. Pretty much all buttercream and berly and cake layers. The cake crumbles and can not be sliced properly. Won't be going back. I'd suggest anyone looking for special occasion cake not come here. read more

Pros: beautifully crafted cake! (I added cake toppers I found online). Mocha filling was rich and delicious. Customer service was great (friendly and helpful). I came in last minute and I'm happy that they were able to make a beautiful cake for my niece. Cons: cake was slightly dry and proportion of the filling to cake was off.The filling layers were as thick as the cake layers. I think less filling and a moist cake would have made it a winner. Cake slices were a bit messy. read more

I have attached 3 photos to show what a terrific job these guys have done with each order I have ever placed with them. I first tried them for my baby's first birthday after another friend had a gorgeous cake made for her kid there (soooo tasty as well). In order, I have done: (1) Blue velvet (delicious) with fondant and (1) blue velvet with buttercream outside frosting (one had an original creative fondant figure on top, one was a smash cake) Chocolate/chocolate with fondant and edible image Chocolate/chocolate with buttercream and edible image You cannot beat Rose Bakery's flavor and value. I wouldn't say their designs are as precise as Cake Boss, but they are still excellent and beat my inspiration images every time. Plus, I ultimately care more about flavor anyway. I was trying to save money one year (and ran out of time!) and went to Ralph's. Never again. Why get some generic, oily-tasting and crappy looking cake, when you can feed 40 people on a great looking and delicious sheet cake for only around $60? As a tip: edible images (which you can still get very customized with) are a more affordable cake design from anyone, Rose Bakery included. If you want the amazing fondant characters and cut-out designs, they will cost you anywhere you go. read more

What a find! This is a family business with amazing customer service, clean, and DELICIOUS. I live a few miles away in Studio City and trying to order a birthday cake was like jumping through hoops and the prices were crazy high. I found Rose Bakery online and went to check it out. Maria was so patient, so professional and helpful. I tried a couple samples and they blew me away. My cakes (Oreo and Tres Leches) were such a big hit at my party. My guests raved about the cake and will Rose Bakery will be all of our go to bakery in the future. read more

Wow! I can't believe I have lived blocks away and never walked in. My little brother wanted a Halloween themed peanut butter chocolate Birthday cake. I was calling everywhere and no one near by could do peanut butter. I emailed them what I wanted and they did a marvelous delicious job. I am so happy with everything. I really love this bakery. I love there cheesecake the most. If you like a very creamy cheesecake then I would suggest to come here otherwise this is not the right place to come for a cheesecake. I enjoyed their red velvet as well. I had leftover cake for a couple of days and that was still moderately moist. Haven't tried their coffee yet but I did try their hot chocolate which was not that bad. Swing by and taste the cheesecake for yourself. read more

If you're looking for affordable good moist cakes, look no further. I have paid twice the amount i did at rose bakery for comparable cakes. The dulce de leche is top knotch. Kudos to the nice staff. Its easy to miss though since it is tucked in the corner. read more

Maria, made placing a Special order of shortbread cookies so easy. I called last week on Sunday to inquire about Special order of shortbread cookies this would be for a girl baby shower. Maria asked me to take 2 pictures of what I wanted of course depending on the texture and designs pricing can range from $3.00 to $8.00 each. I then sent the 2 pictures to Rosebakery@yahoo.com including my name and call back number. Maria called me before closing time on Sunday to give me a price. Special orders need to at least order 1 dozen cookies. Maria then emailed me an order form including half payment of total amount due. I then received a confirmation on Monday stating order will be ready for pick up Friday after 3p.m. that was perfect. The cookies came out looking amazing! Now I have a Bakery location who can make Special order"s for future occasions. read more

What a GREAT bakery! Went in to get my Daughters bday cake. They were so helpful. I got a all white cake with vanilla & chocolate marble inside, served 15 ppl. It was only $22 bucks ! This review won't be be lengthy, cause their baked goods speaks for themselves. Great Prices, Great Selections, Friendly service, and The best part... everything my family and I have tried here, tasted GRRREAT! like tony the tiger. Only issue at times is parking cause the plaza itself is always busy, but besides that, this is our go to spot for cupcakes, cakes, and cookies for specialty events. Try it and Enjoy. read more

I agree with Toni T review they are amazing! I had heard great things from friends but I can say they are one of the BEST bakeries out there. For years we had used Rosebuds Cakes in Beverly Hills but they went out of business. We throw many high end parties and needed an A+ Frozen Cake and 6 dozen cupcakes for my daughters birthday. Daisy helped me with my order and sent me examples. She went above and beyond to make sure I got just what I wanted. Everything was PERFECT and kids and adults loved the cupcakes! I ordered my baby shower cake from here, and I absolutely loved it! It was so cute and the cake itself tasted great. Often times fondant cakes are dry and crumbly on the inside, but their cake was very moist and the buttercream was delicious. I did make sure to follow the care instructions they gave me to keep the cake in best conditions since my baby shower was outdoors on an 80 degree day. I had it on display for pictures, and then put it back in the fridge until it was time to cut the cake. They mentioned that direct sunlight for long periods of time and heat can ruin the cake, but my cake stayed perfect since I followed their care instructions. I will definitely be ordering from here again! read more

I'm a huge sweet-tooth. It's a problem. I frequent all my local bakeries all the time. And so Rose has been my bakery since moving down the street in 2015. I've ordered many cakes and bought a lot of "treats." And as an amateur baker myself, I can be pretty picky. Rose has a lot going for it. First, the staff is always great; always friendly even when they're busy. The cakes, though, are generally over frosted with very strange dyes used in the decorating. I once had a cake that had a little frosting fall on my tablecloth and the tablecloth was ruined. So the next cake I told them and said definitely don't use dyes. The next weekend I had people with stained shirts and mouths at my party because of the dye in the frosting. But that said, they make a killer fruit tart! Like, the best one I've had in LA. They aren't using regular Bavarian cream in there; it's something altogether different. And the crust is perfect and the fruit is sweet and it's not covered by a strange gelatin like a lot of places. Their tira misu is great; as are their oreo cookie cakes, and mocha. I like their cheesecakes and I don't even like cheesecake regularly. But the absolute best thing they do, in my obviously not humble opinion, is the frosted sugar cookie. It's my crutch. I LOVE a simple sugar cookie with sugar frosting. They always have a variety and they are great. They've turned around cakes within a two day period for me. And they have a selection there that are often available if you're in a pinch. Years ago, I even ordered an espresso from there that wasn't bad. Give them your business please. They are really nice and we want to make sure that the great places stay in business during these times. read more

Last time I reviewed them it was 5 years ago... and they are still our go to bakery! Our family always gets all the cakes from rose and always the same flavor (chocolate with Oreo filling lol). Last minute order with such a friendly staff! We ordered half a sheet of chocolate cake with bananas/strawberry vanilla fulling in half side and chocolate muse on the other. Total cost was $77. Sent them a picture of our boys and we absolutely loved it for the short time we had to order it. Taste was great as well. Our family enjoyed it and didn't leave any leftovers lol. This cafe is on the right side of the Jons Marketplace right when you walk in. I couldn't decide between the butter croissant or cheese puffs so I asked the lady working which one she would recommend. She said both were good but the cheese puffs are more savory. So I went with the cheese puffs, the bread was okay but I did not like the cheese at all. I think the butter croissant would've been better so next time when I'm back to the dentist.

Which thankfully they are prepared for on the vegan part...just let them know. I forgot to let them know and ended up purchasing two giving the non-vegan one to a friend that would enjoy it. The staff were great, listened well and communicated I had to wait 15 min for the vegan cinnamon rolls to be ready which wasn't an issue for me they let me know and gave me the option to wait! To lower the sugar I modified my order by omitting the glaze and going with the Marathon that has a blueberry compote and holding the brown sugar crumble. I'm very happy with the ability to modify and reduce the sugar and the staff had no issue or hangups abo. Are the cinnamon rolls sweet? Yes these are everything you would expect from a precision crafted cinnamon roll! it was a little intense for me but not bad! The roll was fresh from the oven. The sugar was perfectly caramelized. Like I take a bite it's a perfect bread soft soft slight crisp not chewy then it recedes to reveal the full spectrum of flavor. Perfection 10 out of 10 on baking skill! The cinnamon rolls are big and the blueberry compote was fresh! I ate half of my roll before a gig (45 min) left it in my car, then came back to eat the second half and the blueberries were starting to ferment. That was my bad as the temp in the car caused that process to kick off but yes CONFIRMED you are paying the prices for premium FRESH ingredients and it's well worth the cost! $12 for the regular Marathon cinnamon roll $13 with a $1 add on for the the vegan Marathon cinnamon roll. Total $25 for two large Marathon cinnamon rolls!

We ordered a custom cake from here for a kid's birthday party! Everything was done online and the ordering process was very easy and hassle-free. They were prompt in replying to our email inquiries and were accomodating to the changes we had to make during the process. Choosing the cake and frosting flavors, as well as paying the deposit for the cake was done through email- which was so convenient since their location is a bit of a drive for us. Since we chose a cake design from their Instagram page, we didn't need to come in to their store to personally meet with their cake designer. They were also able to give us a definite price right away! They also offered the cheaper option of having us provide the decoration for the cake (candies) which actually saved us about $30. I appreciate how they try to keep the costs low for their customers! We picked up the cake and it was exactly how we wanted it. I must admit I didn't get to try it but I was informed that the cake tasted good and that it wasn't too sweet. However, I got to try one of their cakes at a party that I attended in the past and it left a good impression. That's actually how I found out about Rose Bakery and why I thought about them when we needed a custom cake! Me and my family have been going to this bakery for years for all our special occasion needs. They always do such an excellent job! It IS a hole in the wall and you can't see it from the street, so I believe they receive their customers by word of mouth from other customers. They recently remodeled the store which means they must be doing very well. It's very nice inside and the staff is always nice and courteous. Their cakes come in all sorts of shapes, sizes and colors. They also do a great bavarian cream filling and their whipped cream frosting is to die for! Much better than the icky flavoring of fondet! Their prices are extremely reasonable and you get a lot of quality and care in the pastry that you are purchasing. I love this place and will continue to go here for many more years to come. This bakery does the best specialty cakes at such affordable prices. They can even make cakes using fondet or if you don't like fondet they make an incredible whipped cream frosting. It's so delicious and tasty. I got a cake recently from here for a friend's baby shower and the cake came out beautifully. She didn't like fondet so we decided to go with the whip cream frosting and bavarian cream filling in the middle of it. We got compliments as soon as her guests took on biteful. Most people came back for seconds! I would recomend this bakery to any and everyone wanting a pastry experience! Delicious! read more

This bakery always comes through for you when you order from them for special occasions. I always order birthday cakes from here and recently a baby shower cake for a friend. I decided to get a plain sheet cake with whipped cream frosting instead of fondent. Also had them put Bavarian cream in the middle and it was super delicious! It was my birthday a few days ago, and my sister overseas had organized a delivery of one of their signature birthday cakes that serves 10-14 people. I work at Trader Joe's, so I wanted to bring the cake into work to share with my fellow coworkers. As I began to approach the entrance of the store with the big box of cake, there was yellow tape everywhere and emergency responders swarming the area. My friends and coworkers were gathered at the door when I walked through them carrying the cake. 15 minutes before my arrival, there had been a fatal car accident directly in front of the store that involved several additional victims. My friends and coworkers were immediately and desperately assisting the victims before emergency services arrived. We all left within 30 minutes, and I was forced to dispose of the cake. I called Sweet E's two days later to explain the situation with a complete understanding of the fact that there was likely no way of being able to have another cake delivered. I just felt awful that my sister's birthday gift had gone to waste. The manager, Sharee, was incredibly understanding and within minutes of our call, had arranged for another cake to be delivered. Sweet E's did not have to make this insanely generous donation, but didn't hesitate to. I will be forever grateful and appreciative of their kindness.
