    Blueberry matcha cake
    Charlie N.

Surprised this place doesn't have more reviews! I had heard about this place as a great place to do some work, but as a desserts guy, I had to go give this place a try. It's in the back of Dover Street Market, which is a bit outside my tax bracket, but the cake at Rose Bakery made up for it. The moment I stepped into the cafe area, I was immediately met by the barista (I'm so sorry, I forgot to ask for your name!) who was extremely helpful with my indecisiveness. I was debating on a couple options, and when I asked them what I should get, they actually gave me a little sample of the blueberry matcha cake since they had yet to try it themself. I was SOLD! The cake itself was the perfect level of sweetness, which really allowed for the matcha to shine through equally with the blueberry. The cake was moist despite being refrigerated, and the frosting was a light meringue (?) buttercream that tasted wonderful especially after letting it sit for a bit. I decided to take a seat outside, and was surprised when the barista said they'd bring the cake out for me, along with a pitcher of water. The seating area was beautiful - the stone and simplicity really made it the type of place I'd come back to to do some work and to try out their drinks.

space was very pretty and a nice complement to Dover street market. Drinks were ok! and so was service.

Beautiful outdoor space to relax, grab a drink and a pastry. We were recommended the carrot cake. Yes it's delicious! We also got a seasonal apricot cake. I forget if it was gluten free or flourless but ultra healthy and I enjoyed it. Also Hojicha latte is nice and creamy here. When we ordered, the associate said she'll bring everything to us. Great service:)

I have never heard of the Dover Street Market and I have lived in LA for a long time! It is always fun finding a jewel! The items for sale are a bit out of my price range, BUT, the food and drinks at Rose Cafe are worth a visit! They have seating outdoor in a lovely covered and quiet space. All I hear are the birds chirping - it's quite lovely! The service is also great! I needed recommendations on what to order and there was someone there to help me. If you want a unique experience in LA- I recommend a visit.

Nice simple area inside Dover Street Market. I was told that the menu changes weekly. I am a new fan. I really enjoy the dining possibilities offered per menu per chef. Vegetarian food, so it is nice and light for brunch or coffee & cake time while shopping the store. Many thanks to Chef Denise for the meal. 10/10 Card only Indoor/Outdoor seating

Food is excellent. I love the fact that the chef is personally making the dish themselves and even provides table service. Great convenient way to grab a bite while shopping at Dover. Seating outside is relaxed and quiet. Always a great visit!

A hidden spot in the Dover Street Market, I am in love with this place but only wish it wasn't expensive. They rotate their menu weekly so make sure to check instagram for what's current. @rosebakerylosangeles I have tried their quiche and loved it. The carrot cake is delicious and not too sweet. The pistachio and rosewater bougatsa is another of my favorites. I don't think you can go wrong with any of their desserts. Everything tastes so fresh. The service is quick, you order at the front and they bring the food to your table. They have outdoor seating available - great for a sunny LA day. They have their own parking area but you can also find street parking around the place. Can't wait to go back!

Don't sleep on this nice little gem! This place has finesse. You may be thinking they just serve pastries, but they offer so much more! The outdoor eating area makes you feel like you're in Greece and the chairs are gorgeous. The employees were all so pleasant! They recommended the mushroom tartine and the soup of the day and both were delicious. The crispy bread and spread on the tartine we're heavenly. The soup was nurturing and delicious. The matcha latte was so good! Excited to come back again one day!

Cute bakery inside Dover Street Market LA. Parisian trained wife and husband team started this series of shops inside Dover Street Market locations. I was excited to try, and really like the slice of lemon cake I chose. Smaller pastry case than I imagined, but I'm looking forward to going back. https://www.nytimes.com/2014/10/17/t-magazine/rose-carrarini-rose-bakery-breakfast-recipes.html

The restaurant is INSIDE of this Dover Street Market. There is a line to enter.

Lovely, hidden, and super expensive. Seems like it is exclusively built to cater to patrons of the market because it is invisible from the street and there's a line to get in. The outdoor patio is all white tile and reclaimed industrial furniture. The clerks are as elegant as those at a fine hotel. Coffee and cake for two ended up being over $30.

Personally, I don't like that style, I was hoping the original would change that for me! Long story short, I didn't like the Walnut Chocolate Chip. I personally just don't like that style still, so I'll chalk it up as a "me" problem. The cooked part was good. The Rocky Road was cooked through. It was an amazing baked good with good flavor and add-ins. Between the roasted almond slices and fudgey chocolate chips, I was enjoying it immensely. A highlight of my day for sure. Based on my memories, this LA location keeps it consistent with a similar taste and texture as the NY location. 3.5/5 Chocolate Chip Walnut: This cookie was tall and slightly undercooked in the middle. The middle was a bit on the squishy side, and crunchy on the outside. Due to the undercooked quality, it's not a cookie I'd get regularly, though I am a big chocolate chip cookie fan. 5/5 Rocky Road: This was delicious. I'm not usually a marshmallow fan, but the addition of this ingredient formed a nice chewy consistency that I expect from a cookie. Chocolatey tidbits were well melted into the cookie texture and produced some fudgey notes. The cookie sizes are large and potentially shareable, and feel like an every once in awhile treat.

The ham is rolled up and in the center of the croissant, so make sure you bite into it lengthwise to get the ham and cheese all together. Fantastically savory!!! Elderflower Rhubarb: Not as sweet as it appears to be!! Delicious--the elderflower notes come through as you chew, and the ratio of jam to bread is generous. Chocolate Hazelnut Pain au Suisse: Tasty, chocolatey, and hazelnut flavors throughout. Feels like a refined Ferrier Rocher wrapped in bread. Definitely needed water alongside this one because it's quite rich! This was a fun spot to try, and the vibes are beautiful, cozy, and quiet on a weekend morning! I had been to the one in Laguna Niguel and this one in Little Tokyo is more spacious, with an area where you can eat. I bought an oyako pork shumai, curry pan and spicy curry pan. The shumai was like dumpling filling in a bun. My faves were the curry pan, which were super flavorful and vegetarian. It's like a fancy filet o fish without the soggy bun, packed with amazing fried fish and tarter sauce. I'm just disappointed when they don't have this in stock, but sometimes they would make more, and that'll just be an extra wait. Downside is that I first tried the fish panini years ago and it was a bit better then, but it's still good currently. Other pastries I've tried here have been pretty good. They had some various buns with mochi inside, and those were great. Another one of my fave is their mentaiko salt bun. Great flavor, though I wish they would stuff the thing with more mentaiko. Their curry breads are good too. I took my daughter here and she got one with cute emoji drawn on, and she said the custard filling and the bread was tasty as well. I've tried some drinks here and they were alright. A friend was into their banana matcha when they have that in stock. Pretty simple layout here. Get in line and see the goods, then you reach the cashier and order and pay.

Honestly, I think it's even better than the famous spot everyone talks about. My favorite is the corn cheese, it's especially delicious when it's warm. I got a sausage bbang, a chocopie, and a dalgona latte. The sausage bbang was soggy on the bottom and honestly tasted like it was from the day before. The chocopie barely had any filling, just a thin layer of marshmallow and jam. It honestly felt like they used most of the marshmallow for their Dubai choco cookie because it's probably more profitable, instead of properly filling the chocopie. If that's the case, it's better not to sell it at all than serve something like that. The dalgona latte was also disappointing. With ice, the drink only filled to the bottom third line of the cup marking. Clearly, they skimped on the milk. There was also a weird moment when I paid. My total was $15.25 and I paid cash, but I was given $4.75 in change. When I said it should be $5, she seemed confused and asked what I meant. I told her I literally gave you a quarter right now, and she questioned it before eventually giving me the correct change. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and assume it was a mistake. I understand times are hard, but charging more for products that clearly had corners cut doesn't sit right with me. It just comes across like there's no integrity. Clearly the quality and portions are going downhill. I wasn't even planning on writing this review. I was going to stay quiet, but the chocopie really ticked me off. I'm not going to pay for food that skims on ingredients and shortchanges customers by charging more for less, so this will be my last visit.
