This store has gone downhill in every single area. The management there now is not even close to what it was. The manager has colored hair acts like a goofball. The meat department is not what it was. The produce department has gone downhill and the bakery is terrible. I go to other Rosauers now to get the expected products and service I am used to. There is a checker at the 29th Ave store who seems to avoid work. HIs light is lit but unlike some fellow employees does not stand at the front welcoming new customers. He hangs out away from the cash register and chats with those who are actually doing their jobs. read more

*Pharmacy* Absolutely abysmal customer service and care from the pharmacist on staff Wednesday, August 27th. Recent transfered from the rosaures on university and was immediately treated like a drug seeking addict. I was in a significant motorcycle accident with three broken ribs and a broken scapula. Called the pharmacy before coming to verify pain meds were ready, waiting in line to be told they would be ready in an hour. Came back three hours later and was treated like I was drug seeking scum of the earth because my previous Rx, pre accident had a lower dose. Doc sent in new script post accident and the pharmacy refused to call the SAME doctor who writes all my prescriptions to verify it could be filled "early". So after being told three times my meds would be ready, I showed up in pain only to have them not be ready. New Rxs were also sent in for ankylosing spondylitis, no counseling on any of them. methotrexate was prescribed and no counseling and pharmacist didn't fill folic acid that is supposed to be taken with it. Mind you this is a high risk, dangerous chemo therapy type drug to treat autoimmune diseases. I pray that the pharmacist who treated me like that someday is in as much pain as I am in and is treated as poorly as I was. The way the pharmacist acted is exactly why the profession has turned into an absolute joke and has continued to loose public confidence. I love this store and their staff. The lunch special with the burger and fries is a great secret in Spokane. It's not the fastest lunch special but I think it's one of the best $10 or so lunches in town. The ladies at the deli are always so kind to me, and treat my little one year old baby girl like a celebrity each time they see her. The people behind the meat counter are knowledgeable but also seem like they are happy to be working as a butcher or clerk that can really make an experience. Even workers who stock the shelves are ready for conversion and amazing service. The products here are sufficient in variety, you'll find organic options and sales throughout the store. All in all, I'd encourage you to shop local and support our great local grocery store! read more

I love this grocery store. I've been shopping with the chain when I lived in Montana and continued when I moved here. They have a great selection of items and if you don't see an item, you can check to see if they can order it. They have a great scratch bakery in store and several items in the deli are handmade as well (salads and side dishes). Great produce, meat, gourmet, and wine selections. They even have a small, well stocked Huckleberries section. They associates are beyond amazing. A big shout out to all the hard work they are doing during this pandemic. The store is always spotless and everyone is ready to help. Also, a fabulous pharmacy. I highly recommend shopping here. read more

Not impressed at all today! I never get plastic bags but today I never got a choice. Was never asked and by the time I paid for my groceries they were in plastic bags. Tried to get waited on at the deli and some worker got done helping a guy and as I came to the counter she walked away! I just left. I love the Rosauers at 5 mile and really miss it! I love Rosauers. I had never heard of this store until I moved here. There's several reasons this is the best full grocery on South Hill- Quality, Price, Service, and Selection. The quality of the foods is excellent, you can find anything you need including Natural goods. Great deli, great produce selection and meat selection. The price is unbelievable on certain items, I almost don't want to mention it so I won't be specific. The service has always been fast and courteous, I appreciate they are not using machines and have real checkers. They also always want to help you out, even when it's not necessary. read more

Solidly middle-of-the-pack grocery store. Prices are high, there are no self-check out lanes, and selection is decent. The store is always clean and the people who work here seem upbeat and friendly in general. Checkout lanes are fast and they are good about adding more cashiers during peak times. Today was the third time with in just a couple months that I bought food that was spoiled. You'd think that after milk expired by three months, it would be removed from the shelf but I had to find out by taking a swig of very fowl smelling sour milk, that could have got me pretty sick. This doesn't mention the green that was on our chicken breasts we had, or even the yogurt I got today that expired well over a month ago and was sour. Please make sure you're checking your dairy section and keeping it stocked with fresh product, someone is eventually going to get super sick due to either not training employees correctly or simply not caring about people. read more

I was offering a helping hand to my mom who ran in here to mail some letters. The post office is very convenient, right up front. As we were leaving, mom reminded me that my grandmother loved shopping here because she always had her groceries delivered to her car via a conveyor belt, as long as she remembered to drive around to the side of the store for the pickup. Yep, I do remember this unique feature. Those were the days of real customer service. Now, you push your own groceries out to the car if you're lucky, load 'em up yourself, and then find the place to return the cart, all while your Fitbit is recording the additional exercise. I don't recall my grandmother complaining that she didn't get home with all the groceries. She didn't have a Fitbit and lived to be 91, so I'm for bringing back the conveyor belt idea in the shape of a drone which delivers the groceries to my house for no extra charge. I went to Rosauers on 29th today after hours so there would be fewer customers. A big sign announced that masks were required, period, per governors order. I really appreciated it! Everyone is tired of six months of chaos but we need to do absolutely everything to end the spread of this plague. Yes, I'm conservative. Masks aren't a political agenda, they're a germ barrier. At my age, I have shopped this store for as long as i have lived in this neighborhood for over 35 years and the Manager, Harry, from 29th Ave. is the most impressive of any I have known, here and elsewhere. I heard he is about to retire and want to thank him for all the great service and consideration he has given me over the years, as he has retained many employees I consider friends and would like to wish him to have whatever he might like during these retired years to enjoy his life to the fullest extent. In 1934 when J. Merton Rosauer, just out of school, bought a little grocery store on the corner of Sprague and Lee Streets in Spokane. The purchase was financed by a $1,000 loan from his father and mother during the depression. I'm sure he was able to pay them back, as there are 8 Spokane grocery stores and 21 regionally including the SuperOne and Huckleberry stores. There's something nostalgic about Roseys - old fashioned service and good deals still make it a favorite corner store. Its kinda like shopping at your grandparents grocery store, which gives a whole new meaning to comfort food. read more

I went in to the Rosauers on 29th on Feb. 13th to pick up a few groceries. That's all i went in for. However I started to notice that they had Valentine flower displays all over. And they were very impressive. I had not purchased any flowers for my girl and remembered that they had a separate floral department, so I decided to check it out quickly. I was blown away by the selection and quality offered. I was roaming aimlessly when I was politely approached by Barbara, who I assume runs that department ,and asked if I needed assistance. I told her I would know it when I saw it. She let me browse a bit then asked me if I had seen these roses she pointed out. They were like nothing I had seen. A hybrid that was a deep pink and white blended look. I said I would know it when I saw it and that was it. We had a short, pleasant conversation and then I checked out. Kudos to Rosauers on 29th for selection on Valentine flowers and for having employees like Barbara for her customer service. I should note, customer service is why I have shopped at Rosauers for many years. BTW, my first job was at the 9th and perry location as a box boy way back in the day. read more

I've shopped this Rosauer's for over 30 yrs. and found this store to be as good as it gets. The clerks are helpful and have often offered and gone to retrieve an item I forgot to pick up while I wait at the register. When I make any suggestions for improvement, they are always addressed. The fruits and vegetables have never let me down, always fresh and better quality than competitive stores produce. The bakery is top notch and has decorated cookies for parties with short notice. The professionalism at this store has taken a nose dive in the last few years. At one point this was my go-to grocery store. They no longer seem to care about the quality of what they sell. I have purchased recalled and outdated items that they should have known were bad but sold anyway. One of the best places to buy your meats and seafood and produce in Spokane. I love going here to get the ingredients to make a special meal. Worst grocery store experience in years. Generally poor selection. Espresso bar barista gave my wife the wrong pastry which we didn't discover until later. I'm the checkout line, the clerk kept the belt going, nearly shredding the flowers the woman ahead of us wanted to purchase. There were pieces of flower left behind. I had to scramble to keep our cantaloupe from finishing the job. Makes Safeway look good and that is saying something. read more

This store has some good organic products but the store stinks like fish every time I come in. I mentioned it to the manager multiple times and they obviously don't care. The organic produce is right next to the fish which really stinks and doesn't smell fresh even if you like fish. I think putting the organic section and produce right next to the meat will turn off most vegans and the smell starts 4 aisles away. If they didn't sell a couple items I really like I wouldn't even shop there. read more

Great local supermarket. They carry a few more specialty items that you can't find at the other grocery stores in Spokane. They have a great in-house bakery, much better than Winco, Safeway, Albertson's and even Yoke's. It's not the closest store to my home, but I think it's worth going the extra distance for. read more

I've noticed the sell by dates are real short on their meats and dairy products and have seen a lot of product past the expire date still on the shelf. Please check the dates when shopping here. You can find canned goods at their competitor stores ( WINCO & Walmart ) with a lot longer shelf date. I think they have a problem with their shipping because I've seen moldy cheese on the shelf and this usually is from getting to warm in transport read more
